Well l purchased this Olay Creme thinking it was my usual daily moisturiser! Well anyway it's slightly too dark for my pale skin , but as summer gets a little closer it might be great for my outdoor activities. It seems to last all day and has the usual texture and feel of their daily moisturiser. Great it has the SPF15 Got it on special for $19.99 at Woolworths

In the past I have had no luck with BB creams, CC creams on the other hand, I'm loving. Now I can add this to my list of products I will use again. Firstly, the packaging is easy - I'm not worried about bacteria, standard pump size & I'm sure I will get most of the product out of the bottle. Application - learning that this is my moisturiser, primer & foundation in one is AWESOME!! so much time saved! no waiting in between products for absorption, I simply pump half a pump onto my finger after my morning shower, blend it into my face, and go and get breakfast. By the time I get back for makeup (15minutes later) face is ready for painting. Some days I also apply a little powder foundation, but not a lot. Having an SPF 15 is crucial, I simply will not put anything on my face during the day without this minimum. Given my job is mostly inside, 15 is all I need.
I find it also lasts all day too without sliding off & as I have oily - combination skin, this is essential.
Odour is mild, and I was surprised to find that the colour really did blend into my skin tone.
I have no doubt I will be purchasing more in the future.
Tips: Don't use a whole pump - that is too much, start with half and if you need more you can go back to it.
I like this bb cream, it's how I like a bb cream to be. I like it light, I'm not a fan of the heavier types - that are basically like a full coverage foundation - if I wanted a foundation I'd wear a foundation.
The packaging is very similar to their old product Olay with a touch of foundation but now it says it's a bb cream - is it still the same product? Or a newly formulated one? I would have liked a new look but if the old look works for them who am I to complain?
The pump pack works well - a lot ones out with a full pump, I only need a half pump otherwise it looks too dark on my fairly fair complexion. This one is a quite a heavy cream, but the coverage is light. I wouldn't recommend it for oily skins as it is very rich, my dehydrated skin drinks it up so it suits me. If I have applied a moisturiser first it can be a bit shiny so I use a bit of powder. It's a great natural look for days when not doing a heavy makeup look, which as a busy mum is most days.
The colour is pretty good for me in summer, I feel it might be a bit dark in winter though. It says suits all skin tones but probably not the best for the super pale. I love that it has an spf in it which works well as I've gotten a tad red on my shoulders but not on my face when wearing this. As for the other benefits- I haven't noticed much yet, I haven't broken out which is always a good sign. It makes my skin look smooth, even and clear, possibly even radiant, I really like it a lot
One thing I'm not 100% keen on is the smell, it smells like suncream and Olay - most of their products have a similar scent and this is one of those. It's not bad, and I know suncream is good but a good scent would be amazing.
I actually really liked this product. I'm not a fan of foundations generally as they are often too heavy. This particular product was a nice light weight and gave the right amount of coverage for me as well as evening out my skin tone. I'd definitely use it again!
I tried a few BB creams when they first became a thing here in NZ, and to be honest they didn't do a lot for me. Often the colour was off or the coverage wasn't enough for my pimple and acne-prone skin. This was a surprising find.
I really like the packaging, it feels pretty luxurious and looks nice on my counter. The pump is a great touch as I hate the idea of putting my fingers in product repeatedly. That being said my only gripe is with the pump as I can never get the right amount on my hand. It's either too little, then the next pump provides too much, or it's too much. I'm not a fan of the wastage that goes on. The actual BB cream though? Big fan.
It's a thick consistency, and I like the scent. It's not too strong but has a delicate perfume to it. The colour is spot-on for my light/medium skin tone, and it blends effortlessly. Best of all I can see a difference. It minimises my pores and almost gives a blurring effect to my skin. It makes me think of a cross between a blurring primer and a foundation. While it's not so good on my bad skin days, on the days when acne isn't flaming up on my cheeks it's a really nice and lightweight product that gives a natural fresh look to my skin.
Would repurchase and recommend to friends with dry/combo skin like mine. (Not sure how it would go on oily skin as it does feel very moisturising).
Tips: Once you've figured out the right amount of push you need to get the right amount of product out of the pump, stick with it to avoid wastage.
This is a great cream to wear as a light foundation for day to day use or under powder foundation for the evenings.
The SPF15 means you are protected from the sun all day long.
It is light feeling and quick to apply. Additionally, it is easy to apply - either with a brush or simply by using your hands.
Tips: Make sure you blend well at the edges.
When I signed up for this experiment, the idea was to try a product that combined a number of benefits in the same cream. Being a foundation & face cream novice, I wanted to see what it was about. The first thing that struck me as somewhat odd was that on the box it says words to the effect of: "This product combines anti aging, sunblock, moisturiser, BB cream, foundation etc, but you should not expect it to have the same effect as if you were wearing all those individual products." i.e. 'we don't think this product is really good, but we'll sell it to you anyway'. I felt that was a bit of an anti-climax, since the multi-use product benefits was part of the original advertising. All that aside, here is what I found:The shade of the cream is very similar to my summer tan, so when applied to my face I thought I looked more tanned but not so much that I looked unnatural. It has a somewhat golden/orangey shading, as compared to the Moisture Mist BB cream, which is more neutral. The colour may not work in winter. It feels a little oily like sunblock, but it sinks in to my skin to what I believe is called a 'dewy' or damp finish. Other stuff: 1 It didn't make my face break out, even when applied over my oily T zone. That's a first which makes me like it immediately. 2 When applied over my large pores on nose & chin, it sunk in & was invisible. Other BB creams I've tried seem to sit in the pores & wave at everyone saying 'Hey, she's wearing something to cover up her face!'. 3 I think it rubs off a bit. After a sweaty gym session there seems to be not much left to be cleaned off on a face wipe. I don't notice it going anywhere during the day but I thought I'd find more on the wipe. 4 The bottle dispenses the cream in pea sized blobs (about enough for most of my face) if you push the top down carefully. 5 I didn't like the smell. It is quite heavily perfumed & could smell the perfume in my eyes, & my husband commented on it. I do prefer fragrance free or very quiet smelling products. 6 I wore this stuff on my face for days on end during the trial. I don't wear anything else other than moisturiser usually. Overall, this was a successful experiment. I haven't worked out if I like it enough to buy it myself, but this is definitely the sort of thing I would like to wear, to feel like I was wearing foundation & putting my best face forward. Perhaps more of the positive effect was in me finding a product I could wear literally all over my face without issue, than it being a spectacular product. I feel like there should be a foundation that makes my skin look perfect, without people being able to tell there is something there. It wasn't one of those, I think. Either way I really appreciate being able to take part in this trial and hope that others as interesting as this will come my way! Thanks BR xx
Great product. Smells beautiful. And applies smoothly. A bit thicker than what I was expecting but blended nicely. Gives a light coverage. Just enough for every day. Would purchase.
I've always been skeptical about BB cremes however after trying this I have changed my view on them. I have always used Oil of Olay moisturiser as part of my daily routine, and then a foundation. After having to wear a mask through the Covid Pandemic I decided foundation was not ideal yet I was a bit worried about not having enough coverage with a BB creme. Oil of Olay total effects did not disappoint and it is now my go to. It is a perfect amount of coverage as it evens out my skin tone. My skin is softer and I have fewer break outs. It's also great going through the day feeling like I'm not wearing make-up.
Tips: May not suit all skin types
One of my favourites. Its like a bb cream, light-medium coverage for me. Smells lovely. A bit pricey, so I only buy it when its on special at the warehouse. Love all of these total effects creams, never break out so will always use again.
