I find OPI chips really easily I am a very active busy worker and I find after 2 days my nail varnish has chipped but this is due to alot of wear and tear in my job. I find the OPI sand range brilliant as it doesnt chip and I can go 3 weeks without repainting it. I love how easy it it to apply the coats, how good they look, the brilliant range of colours. Not a fan of the shatter range though and find them quite pricey in contrast to other brands

OPI Nail Lacquer Review
Reviews
Tips: Use a base coat, 1 or 2 layers of lacquer and a top coat for best results
For the first few years when OPI was the big brand in polish and all the rage I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about, I owned a couple of shades, they were pretty and at the time it was hard to find good nude shades in many brands (early 2000's) so I would purchase but never found the formula that amazing - it seemed to take ages to dry, and chipped easily. Now a good decade later and they have reformulated (plus taken out the 3 big nasties) I seem to have a much better experience from OPI. Every polish dries quickly (quicker than most other brands fast dry formulas), most are opaque and they last the distance, I am constantly using my hands (making jewellery/painting/knitting, constant gardening, handwashing because of owning dogs etc) and this stuff really does hold up. Another bonus is OPI always carries shades that wear well on my skintone, this is one brand that carries classic lines, and recent releases that carry definite cool, warm and fashion tones which work on a range of skintones. I can always find the perfect neutral polish, a flattering coral/teracotta pink or beige, or the perfect red that will work with my skintone. My most fave and definite repurchases (my top 5 of all time) are the shades 'San tan tonio', 'crepes suziette', 'schnapps out of it', 'did someone say par-tay' and 'chocolate moose'. Unfortunately the last 4 have been discontinued but if I can find them somewhere I will definitely repurchase as they are the best muted off-tone shades for my skintone (incredibly pale and yellow). This is also a brand where I can skimp on basecoats, topcoats and not worry about discoloration/peeling etc.
I love OPI products. The consistency of the nail polishes are not too thin, sometimes just one coat will do depending on the color. The nail lacquer dries fast and doesn't have any smell. They are definitely pricey, best to buy during sale. I always look for specials/discounts in the store and grab it :) The reason why I am a big fan of OPI is because they have never disappointed me, I have good results from each and every application, hence I am ready to pay the price to have these beauties on my nails.
Tips: Always apply base coat and top coat for long last results.
I absolutely adore OPI polishes, unfortunately due to the price I only own four (Mermaids Tears, GoldenEye, Make Him Mine, and Black Shatter). I absolutely love the OPI formula and find it fast drying, all the polishes I own are thick enough so that I can get away only applying two coats! I find them long wearing and chip resistant when applied correctly with a top and base coat! Love them and definitely will be building my collection when I can!
Being a qualified nail tech, I know a fair bit about nail products. The nail colour is thick enough to give a nice colour coverage from just one coat with other brands the colour and texture of the varnish is so thin that you need at least two coats of colour which does not give you bang for your buck. The colour stays on the nail fairly well it is not quick to chip and wear off. The packaging is okay but I think they should change it as other shops have very similar containers and so to some body that does not know much about nail polish coul be fooled into buying the cheaper brand and not achieveing good results. The brush is easy to work with and the bristles do not seem to become all yuck too fast. The colours are very close or true to the bottle after one coat from what I have tried. There is a wide range to choose from and they market the product with the use of celebrities too such as Katy Perry. The products have various types of looks too eg shiny, sparkley, shimmer, metalic, etc. They also bring out limmited editions making it fun for collectors. At $25 each they are not exactly cheap but still affordable for those who want a good product closer to a salon finish when used correctly.
Tips: Do not thin out or try to fix your nail colours by putting in remover this will affect the "glue" the colour will not adhere to the nail very well affecting the quality of the product.
Love this brand of nail polish. The colours are fun. The polish is smooth and silky to apply. Colours are true to the bottle. Long lasting wear. The only downside is the price.
This is the first nail polish that I have come across that stays on for a very long period of time for example I can paint my nails and it stays on for 4-5 weeks at a time
Tips: Choose a nail polish that makes you feel happy and stands out in a crowed and you will get complemented where ever you go and trust me it puts a smile on your face and without realising it you have spread the word and everyone will go out and start buying :)
As a massive nail art addict I have used an extensively wide range of lacquer brands. What I absolutely love the most about OPI is the colour range. They have every colour in every shade you could imagine. Their colour range is so large that I could almost guarantee your local department store doesn't even stock the true amount of colours this brand has produced. As for performance I have found OPI do tend to chip a lot faster than other brands I have used, even with a top coat. Some colours are not pigmented enough. I have left the store thinking I've grabbed a particular colour and I am having to apply 4 coats just to get it a strong defined colour, therefore leaving my nails taking unnecessarily long to dry. On the plus side I love the width and thickness of the brush making application very easy which is complemented by a beautifully smooth lacquer that distributes so evenly over the nail. Although I would purchase this product again I don't believe it is worth its price. Perhaps after a few tweaks I would be more inclined to purchase without hesitation.
Tips: To get the best performance out of your polish I absolutely recommended to PREP YOUR NAILS! Clean, cut, filed and buffed nails make all the difference and also helps to keep your nails strong.
I got given these as a gift by a good friend. Unfortunately 2 of these shades weren't particularly flattering with my skin (which can be a little pink at times). I did love "If You Moust You Moust" pink and the "Nothin' Mousie 'bout It" glitter with mini hearts. I use the hearts all the time over many of my polishes. As always consistency was good, perhaps a little on the sheer side, I needed 2-3 coats. I enjoy the mini packs because I tend to use them up while my full size bottles sit for too long and go gluggy.
Overall this pack would be great if it weren't for the colours not working for me.
Tips: Maybe avoid these if you are quite pink toned. I find they make my skin look even more red.
I've tried many different nail polishes in the hopes of finding one that last longer than a day or 2 without starting to chip.. OPI is definitely the best I've found so far. It still starts to chip after about 3 or 4 days with normal day to day wear and tear but it does last longer than other nail polishes. It drys quickly (always a bonus) goes on really nicely, not thick and glugy. It doesn't streak and you only need 2 coats for a perfect shiny finishy. My fav is the liquid sand polishes. They are awesome and look amazing! They don't rub off either. The rang of colours is fantastic! I love their fast drying top coat too, makes any brand nail polish last longer and it's super shiny! The price isn't too bad, usually around $20. Which I think is really fair for a top quality polish!! By far my favorite!
