I have the "Impressionist" eye contour kit which consists of neutral browns and champagne shades with one pale pink eyeshadow in the kit. The kit helpfully includes easy-to-follow instructions to create an eyeshadow look using all of the shades (which are numbered to make it easy to follow) for both hooded and non-hooded eyes. The kit also includes 2 foam applicators which I think are a bit wasteful. Foam applicators are rubbish at applying shadows when the instructions for the kit requires blending of the eyshadows along the browbone which just can't be achieved with foam applicators which are designed for packing on eyeshadow colour. I think the applicators could have been left out as they are a bit rubbish and it seems wasteful to include them. The instructions are great and I was able to create a really nice eyeshadow look following them. I think this is great for beginners as all of the shades in the "Impressionist" kit are neutral and quite subtle so they are forgiving of any errors and easy to blend out. I loved the eyeshadow look I created following the instructions which was quite subtle, yet glamorous. My main issue is all of the shades are shimmers; there is no matte included to use as a base shade so to complete the eyelook properly I prepped my eyes with a matte brown from another palette as it's pretty normal to not use a shimmer shadow as a base! I found all the shades apart from the pink shade were easy to blend and had a pretty finish. The pink shade was included as a tiny square so it was hard to get product on the brush and it just didn't seem to go with the rest of the colours at all, so I avoid using this shade. I found the wear-time of these wasn't great. Despite using my own eyelid primer, and setting spray, my beautiful eyeshadow look was pretty much half gone by midday! I see other reviewers have said this included an eyeshadow primer, it wasn't super obvious on mine which one the primer is as all colours included were shimmery, so maybe this is something the kit could make clearer. All in all, this is pretty and nice to help beginners create an eyeshadow look but this is a bit pricy and I just don't find it wears well throughout the day or has the staying power I would like (especially compared to cheaper eyeshadow palettes and kits I own). I would recommend giving it a go if its on sale and you aren't planning to wear eyeshadow all day and just to an event, but if you want long-wearing dramatic eyeshadow I don't think this is the kit that will achieve that.

I love the idea of these palettes, they make it so easy for beginners! It is a great guide on where to put each colour/how to use. They have instructions on the back of the case too. Only downfall for me is the crazy colour range, I would prefer if they had some really neutral ones, which would suit beginners more. Colours are really pigmented which is nice, and stays on!
Has better colour payoff - finer mill so easier to blend and more colours. This one is good value for money
So I have finally found a mini eye shadow palette that is compact, great quality and has a good selection of shades to choose from. I'm quite happy about that.
Its so easy to carry around with me in my makeup bag or handbag. Its easy to open (even with slippery hands). I love the colour selection. The only colour that I don't touch is the blue as I have blue eyes I don't like baby blue shades. I love using the pink shade in my crease, the brown shade in my outer v, the yellower/golder shade on the 1st half of my eyelid and the lighter shade in my inner corner and that is my go to look! and to add a bit more definition I add the brown shade to my lower lash line. Simple as that and all in one palette!
All of the shades have a shimmer to them, not a hardcore over the top shimmer but a minimal shimmer. They all look amazing, beautiful pigmentation and they last all day if applied properly.
I am looking into getting more of these mini palettes as they suit my needs well! Highly recommended to give these a go!
I own 3 of these eye shadow palettes: 501, 505 and 510. The shadows are well laid out in an eye-shaped diagram, with instructions on the back in case the layout is not clear. Each palette also comes with 2 double-ended eyeshadow brushes, which is great for applying the three different shadows, as well as the primer and sparkle shadow.
The colour combinations are well thought out, with a highlighter shadow up top, the darkest shadow for the crease, and an intermediate shade for the lid. However, with 510 I found the gold highlighter was too bright, and overpowered the other shadows. I also though it clashed with the other 2 colours. But the colours probably looked extra bright on me because I am very pale. The combination may suit other people better.
The staying power for the shadows was good. It is great that they come with a primer, and I think that really helps to keep the shadow in place. The shadow is also fairly easy to apply over the top of the primer. The only part of the palette I was not so impressed with was the glitter top coat. I found it was not really very noticeable over the top of the shadow. But the shadow looks great without it so I would not consider that a major drawback.
Tips: Apply a decent coat of the primer shadow first to get the maximum staying power for the eyeshadow.
I use the colour impressionist and think the colours in the pallet go great together. The pallet layout is a neat idea. Fun to apply. Good size to pop in handbag.
The primer doesn't seem to prime much. The staying power isn't very good and I find there isn't much eyeshadow left after just a couple hours. It would help if the pallet had a mirror so I could touch up easier.
I picked this is up for $5 on sale so for what I paid I'm happy with it but I wouldn't pay RRP.
I have the version of this that has mainly browns in it Its nice but does not seem very pigmented like the claim above. The shadows are shimmery and have glitter the one pressed into a small square in mine has thicker glitter than the others and is multi colour reflective glitter very pretty but the colours are not that pigmented and the lighter ones can easily fade out to very subtle the browns are okay smooth and not all chalky great packaging as the back has a how to guide. The "primer" in mine was just a base colour I thought a primer was meant to be a cream. They last fairly well but as I said the colours can fade. Blend quite easily not a bad product. At 20 dollars I think I would consider re buying if I really liked but mine I got in a package. I recently found this company tests on animals so its not in my good books as much any more. The one I have is 505
I received the Revlon Primer, Shadow and Sparkle in a gift with purchase box. I really like the brow bone shade but found the shape of its container area took some getting used too as I use my finger to put highlighter on. I do not use the dark brown as I have heavy lidded eyes but the mid brown lower lid shade worked well. I do not use the sparkly enhance as I think it emphasises wrinkles more. The size of the container is great as is the amount of product. I like the application information on the back too. When I next need eye shadow I will look at other palettes in this range.
Tips: Keep an eye out for Revlon gift with purchase as it makes products affordable.
I have two of these pallettes and really enjoy using them. The primer is a good start and even if I am not using this pallette, I use the primer. If you are not sure which colour goes where there is a diagram on the back to give you a hand. The colours are well pigmented and I find they stay all day. So happy with these.
The only shadow I loved in this 'kit' was the sparkly one, and I don't think it's worth it to buy it for one shadow. The other eyeshadows are fine quality, but i have a lot of other products I like way more. If you're really drawn in by a particular colour story, then I'd say to buy it because you might like it, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend.
