Foundation is the one makeup item my skin cannot do without and my face literally drinks foundation because I use tonnes of it on a daily basis. One bottle lasts me about a month (sometimes less) because I wear foundation every single day to cover my horrid acne.
I've to apply layers of foundation (yes my skin is really bad so pick up your jaw) to get full coverage, so therefore buying a pricey high end foundation is just not meeting my needs.
I picked up Rimmel for $20 in soft beige after reading the great reviews and thought I need to give this a go. I'm really not disappointed I decided to try this foundation because I only have good things to rave about!
I apply moisturiser, primer and then the foundation and I find this foundation doesnt run away from the primer as some I have would do. I apply the first layer of foundation with my finger tips and work it vigorously around my acne, especially concentrating on the dents in my face and the darkest, most obvious scarring. The second layer I apply to my whole face using my finger tips again and would still concentrate on covering my acne. I find this foundation works amazing at blending layers into each other and there are no patchy areas around your face. For the last layer (its a very thin layer dont worry) I'll squirt one pump onto the back of my hand of using my foundation brush and lightly brush in all the work I had done with the previous layers to give my face a flawless (well as flawless as acne can be) look.
I know 3 layers sounds horrific but it is very achievable with this foundation and havent been able to do this with any other, for which I am eternally happy.
I finish my face with some pressed just dusted slightly on my T-zone and my foundation lasts the entire day! Coming home at night I have to use so much remover to get it off because it just stays put on my face which suits me perfectly.
This foundation doesnt make me shiny during the day and the best part is that it is not making my acne worse so I would definitely recommend this foundation to girls with severe acne or acne prone skin.
The quality of the foundation definitely doesnt match the price as I would expect to pay abit for a foundation that has this many benefits for my skin. I have to keep switching my foundation to avoid acne but this foundation will be on the rotation list and always make its way back into my makeup collection.
This is the best foundation that I have tried that is in the $20 price range. I have quite fair skin and I am amazed to finally find a good cheap foundation that actually matches my skin perfectly (I'm in the shade Fair Ivory). I also have quite a bit of redness so it gives a decent medium coverage on its own. It also gives me such a lovely finish. I have purchased this foundation 3 times and you only need 2-3 pumps
Tips: Best applied with a flat top kabuki and goes perfectly with a light dusting of the Australis fresh and flawless powder
