First things first, I have combination skin and a light skin tone. So I'd seen the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation on some Youtube videos and thought I'd try it after my current foundation (Revlon Colourstay) ran out. I bought it from Farmers, tested the colour range and Ivory suited me best. Found the consistency quite runny compared to what I'm used to working with, but after a few times trying it I got used to it and love it. I use a Sigma brush to apply it and get a nice flawless look with great coverage. I use Rimmel Stay Matte powder to finish off, as my t-zone tends to get quite oily during the day. It lasts well on. Definitely a new favourite of mine and will repurchase.

I love this fondation! It is such a nice thickness, not too heavy and not too light. You can get a medium coverage with this foundations. I find it clings slightly to my dry patched when not used with a primer but when used with a primer it looks flawless and stays on for about 4-5 hours I would say. The finish of this is so beautiful, semi matte I would say. This also has a pretty decent range of colors available and can also be mixed to find your perfect shade, Over all I really love this foundation and will defiantly be repurchasing!
I was previously a diehard fan of Revlon colorstay, it was one of the only foundations I found which was good for my super dry and flakey skin and provided excellent coverage. However I found when my last one ran out I couldn't afford to buy a new one at the time so I decided to look for a cheaper alternative. I came across the Rimmel match perfection and bought it on a wim. I have problems finding a good shade usually getting one that is too dark or too light but with this brand I found my perfect shade YAY, I find that it works great for my dry skin and provides good coverage. Also think for what it is the price is very reasonable,Absolutely love this product and I will definitely be buying again!!
Match Perfection is right. I have this in the lightest shade and it matches my skintone flawlessly. I absolutely love it. The consistency is quite thin and lightweight. When you apply it, it feels like there is nothing on your face. I use a buffing brush to apply this, I usually stipple foundation onto my skin but using that technique leaves this sitting on the skin in an unflattering way. I also find it best not to use my beauty blender with it. The finish is super natural and a light to medium coverage. I do find that I need to use a hydrating primer, like my L'Oreal Lumi primer, rather than a super silicone based one like my Porefessional. If I don't use a hydrating primer it does cling to the dryness on my forehead. Overall I really like this foundation now that I have the application down and I will probably be repurchasing it.
Also in terms of packaging the container is quite big, you get a lot of product and it's very sturdy. It also has a pump and depending on what kind of coverage you want, you use either one or 2 pumps and you're good to go. Makes it super easy to get the right amount of product.
Tips: Buff it into the skin, don't stipple. Buffing gives a more blended, natural finish with this particular foundation.
I bought this foundation in the shade Light Porcelain on a whim, after getting frustrated with how dark my other foundation was. Pale girls this is your salvation! Finally a shade that is light enough.
I usually wear this foundation over my Rimmel Lasting Finish primer, and it applies like a dream. It glides on so smoothly, and feels very light on the skin. I think that the coverage is very buildable, so you can wear it quite sheer and light, or go for a lovely medium coverage. I then use a concealer (Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in the shade Ivory) to cover up my dark under eye circles, and any blemishes.
I tend to have quite oily skin and I find that this lasts pretty well, but not amazingly. I powder to make the foundation last longer, and to keep the shine away.
I do find that Match Perfection can cling unattractively to dry patches a little, but not as badly as with other foundations I've used. If you do have dry skin, I would just recommend moisturising and using a primer before applying the foundation.
The packaging is quite nice and simple, and it has a pump dispenser which I really like. The foundation has a kind of strong scent, but it's really not unpleasant.
This product is so affordable, and such good value for money.
Tips: For long lasting and gorgeous coverage use with a primer and concealer.
I'd heard a lot of good things and so decided to pick it up. I was amazed at how easy it was to find my shade and the fact that I have a perfect match with my skin is something I haven't been able to do with any foundation before. Ever!
It comes in your standard foundation bottle - Yes it does come with a pump! Hallelujah! And it's a thin, lightweight, almost watery consistency. It's runny but won't run. It also smells great too, like a bowl of fruit.
On me it gives medium to full coverage. It does such a good job at covering my under eye bags that I don't even need to use concealer. This lasts on me the whole day, from 6am all the way to 9pm, without flaking, caking or coming off. However I do notice that by 9pm it has started to sink into the fine lines on my forehead - even though I have a primer on underneath.
It's really easy to blend, and I use a foundation brush to place it where I want, and essentially paint my face, then go over with a stippling brush, and stipple it all in to make sure it's all flawless. It does brighten up my skin and make it look really good.
One thing I will mention is that it is pink based. So it can tend to bring out the pink undertones of the skin. I wish they came out with the same foundation but with yellow tones.
I don't recommend this for oily skin people however- While I don't have oily skin myself - unless it's that time of the month, I do find that my skin is well, should we say moisturised throughout the day using the foundation. it's not greasy, but I can imagine it would be for someone who has oily skin.
I do sometimes use a powder over this - Maybelline Fit me, and I find that this makes it cakey over time throughout the day - I'm not sure if the powder is to blame, or the foundation. Just something to consider.
I picked up the shade '402 Bronze' and it was among the first drugstore foundations I've found that matches my medium-warm skin tone. When I first applied this foundation the first thing I noticed was the smell. It's not a particularly bad smell, a rather generic foundation smell actually, but it is quite strong and does linger after application. The formula is quite thin, which makes it light and breathable on the face. The foundation is a medium coverage with a dewy finish. I find that I don't need to set this on my cheeks and chin for it to stay all day, however, my T-zone requires powdering or it becomes a huge oily mess. (I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder). To put in perspective how well this foundation stays for me, I wore it to a concert where I danced my butt off, came home and it was perfectly intact. I liked that this had a pump, it makes it so easy to figure out how much I need, usually 1/2 to 3/4 a pump is enough for my whole face so a little goes a long way. Will be repurchasing to find a shade to match my Winter skin.
This is a foundation that has truly impressed me, to the point where I’ve repurchased (a first for me, as I usually like to try out different things). It’s a great everyday foundation, which looks natural, and wears well.
One of my favourite things about this is that it has a few fair shades, and the lightest one matches me perfectly. I’m NC15ish in MAC shades (sometimes a bit lighter), and most light foundation shades are too orange or pink, or oxidise throughout the day. However, I have shade Fair Ivory in this, and it is literally perfect; not even borderline dark. So that’s a huge bonus in my books!
The packaging is sleek and feels quite expensive in my opinion. It’s a glass bottle with a blue plastic pump and removable slanted cap with the Rimmel crown logo emblazoned on the top. The pump works perfectly, and gives a generous amount of product – usually I just use one pump for my whole face, but it’s so easy to control the amount that if I need more I can just pump out a little extra without wasting another whole pump-full.
This foundation has a fairly runny liquid texture, and I find it applies best with either a damp sponge (I use my RT sponge) or fingers. Because it is quite runny I find a buffing brush can make it look a little streaky, although it’s still possible to use it, but fingers or sponge blend it seamlessly and make it easy to build up the coverage. One light layer provides light-medium coverage, and evens out my skintone nicely, but it definitely is buildable, and by adding a bit more on areas that need it I can get it to a more medium-full coverage without looking cakey. It has a light cucumbery/slightly sunscreeny scent, but that disappears soon after applying it.
The finish is very natural and what I would describe as satin-dewy. I do set it with a light layer of powder (at the moment I’m using Australis Fresh & Flawless), and I find it lasts a good 4-6 hours before it starts looking a bit shiny on my nose (I have dry-combination skin). If I use blotting paper it holds up for another good few hours, and so I’m quite happy to wear this out all day. It doesn’t make me look like I’m wearing foundation or heavy makeup, it just makes my skin look radiant and even, which is exactly what I want in an everyday foundation.
The SPF does show up in flash photos, so I don’t wear this on nights out or if I know there’s going to be flash photography, but it’s perfect for everyday wear (and in that case the SPF is a nice bonus).
Overall, thanks to the colour match for my fair skin, the lovely natural finish, and the reasonable price (about $22 at Farmers), this has definitely taken the spot of my current favourite foundation. Apart from the SPF flashback, it’s something I’m happy to wear on any occasion, and I definitely would recommend it to others!
I am in LOVE with this product, it is a great Foundation to use, it has a range of colours for certain skin tones which is great for everyone. It's lasted throughout the day for me, however towards the end of the day it started to transfer off, but this was very minimal in comparison to other products that I have tried. It's at a reasonable price, I think I only paid $20 for my bottle. At the end of the day it was a great product to use and I highly recommend it!
Tips: A little bit goes a long way, you don't need to apply a heck of alot to your face.
would definitely recommend for daily wear, its easy to blend through to get a natural even skin tone
Tips: when i have an oily t-zone this can make it a bit shiny but i just compensate with powder.
