I love this foundation with a passion. I purchased it a couple of weeks ago, and took a risk with it after hearing great things and I am in love with it!
The packaging is very cute, and very much suits rimmels style of makeup, the tube is a good size and has plenty of product in it. The foundation is super creamy, and goes on like a dream. It lasts throughout the day, and does not melt off my face, but stays set in place from morning until night. I have an oily skin type, and when I am wearing this foundation you would not know it!
If I were to compare this foundation to another, it is very much like loreals dream matte mousse. However I find that rimmel's one lasts longer during the day, and has a lot more product.
Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a matte finish with medium to full coverage. It is a great affordable foundation.
The Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse is my current favourite foundation. Prior to trying this foundation I had used Estee Lauder double wear, Clarins Skin Illusion and Revlon Colourstay. The Rimmel Stay Matte mousse has outdone these foundations with a sweet bonus of a lovely little $13 price tag (via asos).
I picked this up over a month ago and after the first application I was incredibly impressed. The coverage it provides is similar to the three foundations I mentioned, but feels a whole lot lighter on the skin. The first day I wore this foundation I felt like I had nothing on my face. The texture is light and creamy and blends easily and evenly. Previously I would reach for the Thin Lizzy concealer daily to cover acne scarring around my chin, but an extra layer of this foundation has left my concealer at the back of my drawer. This flawless coverage lasts all day (7am - 7pm) and keeps me incredibly matte. When set with a powder I do not need to retouch my foundation during the day and I no longer need to use blotting sheets.
After a few days of using this foundation I was about to label it 'perfect.' However, by the end of the week I had two dry patches on my face. I have oily skin so this was certainly unusual. I moisterised like a crazy woman and thankfully they haven't returned. This experience leads me to think that this foundation would not be suitable for anybody with dry, normal or even combination skin. The only other downside to this foundation is the colour range, which is pretty limited. I do have to mix two shades to get the perfect colour.
Overall this is my current favourite foundation which is an amazing alternative to the double wear, colourstay and Clarins skin illusion foundations. If you wear these foundations you will either love it even more, or at least enjoy it as a cheaper alternative for casual days. I will continue to use this foundation however I will need to be vigilant in nourishing my skin at night.
