This foundation is definitely matte and does control shine. I loved the thick mousse consistency. It doesn't have a good shade range "100 Ivory" was quite dark. If you have combination skin it may not be suitable because the it emphasises dry areas. It can look quite cakey.

Tips: Using your fingers to use this product is best as it's very thick; your fingers warm up the product to make it easier to blend. Applying with your fingers first then using dampend beauty blender can help smooth it out a little more.
For the price it's ok. I find it was great at first then as it ages it declines in quality quite rapidly. Didn't take long for me to notice it just sits on my skin and is hard to blend after a few weeks. So although nice at first it definitely doesn't feel great on my skin after a while. I like my foundation to feel silky smooth and when applies like my skin can breathe.. I don't feel like this lets my skin do that sadly.
I have very dry skin, so stay matte was not my ideal foundation. Very heavy and definitely full coverage. Does not last long on the face, id say around 3 hours. Gives a great matte finish though, just not made for dry skin :[
Tips: Avoid this if you have dry skin, otherwise apply a lot of moisturizer and primer before use :]
Never would I have expected to have such a complicated relationship with a foundation! I love this foundation's initial formula, finish and I coverage, however I was disappointed to see that the shade ivory is not the same as the shade of the match perfection by rimmel, it is a lot pinker. My other gripe with this foundation is that it doesn't 'stay matte' as advertised, I dont have very oily skin and even with a powder on stop I'm still shiny after a winters day in the office. The other claim by Rimmel that this foundation reduces the appearance of pores is intially true but as the day goes on this product sinks into my pores even with a primer worse than any of my other foundations.
Tips: Best applied with a flat top brush then a sponge and set with powder. Bring your powder for regular touchups throughout the day.
This is definitely a matte foundation. I have very dry skin and this didn't overly dry me out. Extremely full coverage can look a bit cakey so blend well, and a damp beauty blender works amazingly.
Not my favourite, but not too shabby.
Good price as well.
Matched my skin perfectly! Has a great mousse texture, but I did find it a bit hard to blend. It tends to clingy to and exaggerate any dry skin, so I would avoid if you have that type of skin.
I may have to re visit this review when I purchase the right colour but mixed in with my brightening concealer this went on really nicely. (I purchased it online and used a foundation matching tool that turned out to be completely wrong!)
Anyway! I have been swiping my light fit me concealer around my face with a dot of this on top and blending it out with a sponge, it is FULL coverage. Covered the redness around my nose and the red spot above my eye and worked well with the other cream and powder products I was using too.
The product is thick and tacky, like a very thick mousse, and although you only get 30 ml a little goes a really long way.
Tips: Start with less than you'd usually use and build from there, I used less than half the amount I pump out of my usual foundation.
I went through a phase of buying things on special and not really looking at the colour. I think we all know why a lot of concealers and foundations make it to the the 'clearance' party; because no one wants them. Sad day. I bought this foundation in an excited flurry imagining an oil-less face that looked like a baby bum from every angle. I got it for ten bucks from the Warehouse. I got home and slapped it on, and it was SO white. And the tube said nude ivory...so obviously white but not THAT white. Ps I'm a white kid. But MATE did the mattifying gods pull through, this foundee is extreme and really fills your pores and wrinkles (so wash your face well afterwards). The product is a bit annoying as you squeeze it out of a tube, meaning you have to cut it open towards the end of it's life to scrounge around for the last drops. Or not. OG price point was cheap anyway so next time I purchase this I'll TRY get the right colour and not get carried away.
I have this in the old packaging, so I don't know if the formula has changed much at all. But for my one, the coverage is very light, good for days where I don't need coverage. It's a very average foundation, there's nothing absolutely brilliant or absolutely terrible about this foundation at all. I do really love the packaging, however, I find its better than ones in glass bottles. It makes it good to take travelling. For its price, it's a decent foundation if you're not looking for high coverage.
i like this foundation! coverage is amazing and lasts all day! the foundation goes on matte but a few hours later i find myself applying more powder. Also if not blended out it can give us a very cakey impression especially if this foundation is not the correct color for you. Honestly the only reason i would by this foundation again is because of how cheap it is.
Tips: blend blend blend!
