Perfect as a setting powder over foundation or a BB cream especially in those area's prone to shininess (T-zone). An amazing product available at an affordable price. I got mine for just under $10 off asos (with free shipping also). I find this gives the same if not better results than similar products from higher end brands for a lot less money. It comes in a translucent shade which is the one I use as I don't want more coverage just the mattifying effect it gives and a product to set my foundation. Also comes in a few skin shades so definitely build able coverage also if you choose those. It is a very mattifying powder though so I only use sparingly on areas that get oily. All over the face can make me appear a bit flat I find and I do like the dewy look on the cheeks.

I purchased this because I wanted to make my makeup last super long for a formal evening function a few weeks ago and have been using it for the last month. Super happy to see it on BR because it's both my first and favourite matte pressed powder!
I do a lot of in-front-of-camera work and shiny skin is the bane of my existence. This stuff instantly mattifies and, if you get one of the tinted versions, smooths out your skin tone. I prefer using 01 Transparent though, so that the contouring is seen clearly. It pats on white, buti f you blend it with a fluffy brush, it goes transparent. You can try on your hand to see for yourself. I have combination skin, but recommended to a friend with very oily skin (teenage woes). No matter how oily you are, it will mattify. Magic.
It also definitely makes creamy foundations longer lasting. I was using some foundation sticks that have a creamy gel formula and I found they were wiping off quite easily and also shifting around the place. The powder kept it in place flawlessly without any touchups at all for 8h, which I thought was pretty impressive.
I love this, it's so affordable! Complete Rimmel London fan.
Tips: Store with a hairtie around it so the lid doesn't just fly off in your handbag. Also dab it into your skin before lightly blending by skimming a brush over for the best effect.
I have an oily T-zone, and not the pretty "oooh natural highlighter" sort of way, more of the "you look like you dumped your face in oil" kinda way. Needless to say, I was on the hunt for a powder that not only kept my foundation on all day, but also kept the oil master away. So after seeing this product raved about on YouTube I definitely had to give it a go. And for the past 3 compacts, I NOT been disappointed!
I absolutely love this product. It definitely does what it says and keeps me matte all day - without looking completely flat thought. BONUS! It is very fine and the magical powder particles are like tiny wee fairies that just soak up all the oil - bye bye!
It does not look cakey on my skin and looks great in photos.
Definitely a must have - and at the price, why would you even second guess it?
Tips: Be careful transporting this product as the packaging isn't the sturdiest and the lid does tend to come off - dammit.
This is the kind of product that I use until the very last crumbly bits and then eagerly delve into the new one I have waiting in line! It's such a great setting powder for my foundation and the finish is great! That being said, I have recently discovered Maybelline's Matte Maker pressed powder and the finish is ever so slightly better. I say this because I feel that the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder has a very light shimmer in it (you may not think this at all), where as the Maybelline one is true matte (in my opinion) and it applies more even as well! But as far as the Rimmal Stay Matte Pressed Powder goes, it was the first Matte Pressed Powder that I owned and I have loved it very much and I would still recommend it to a friend without a doubt. Amazing value for your money!
Tips: Using a large fluffy brush or a kabuki brush etc, dust an even amount of Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder onto the brush, tap off any excess and then pat lightly onto your face. Start from the center and move outwards. At the edges use ,light circular motions to buff out all the edges to prevent a cakey look or a foundation line!
I have been unfortunately blessed with oily skin and have been looking for a product for awhile which would combat my oily t-zone whilst not having to reapply it through the day. Rimmel matte powder really does what it says it does, it adsorbs oil throughout the day keeping you looking fresh, and it is absolutely fantastic for the price. Although I do have a nit picks about it, i find it can come out looking quite powdery/cakey on the face. Also the colours are quite difficult to match correctly, seeing this I went for the transparent shade and it can make me end up looking super white and ghost-y
Tips: start light and build up, also if you are wearing it for a night where photos will be taken, take some selfies before leaving the house to check it's not showing up super white
After using powder from both Revlon and MAC, I have happily settled on the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. It performs equally as well as the Revlon and MAC powders, at a fraction of the price. The Stay Matte Pressed Powder is perfect as a setting powder over liquid foundation or a BB cream as it provides a matte, smudge resistant layer with buildable coverage. The combination of liquid foundation and Stay Matte powder provides long lasting coverage. On long days at work I will take blotting sheets and powder to work and top up once in the day, however this isn't particularly necessary. The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder can be purchased for $5-$10 on Asos, with free delivery which makes it a very affordable option in comparison to other powders which provide the same results.
Tips: Purchase from Asos for $5-$10.
I love this powder!! It makes me look naturally beautiful without clogging my pores!! Would definitely recomend this product!
I am a long time user of Rimmel and generally try most of their products based on my good experiences with theirs . My powder had just run out when I saw the Rimmel Stay Matte range had hit NZ stores , so I purchased one . I love that they have a large range of shades , including ones pale enough for my skin . I also love the consistency and easy blending capability of the product . Not much powder needs to be used for a great finish . This product also provides great payoff , and lasts well throughout the day . It sets make up perfectly but is easy enough to remove at the end of the day .
I had tried this product before my current pressed powder that im using at the moment and it is one of the products that I had reached the bottom of, I was really impressed! I personally think overall Rimmel is a great range but this, as well as other products (ie the single blushers) that Ive tried are one of the best!
The look that is gives the skin is one but natural, which Im sure is what we all want! I wouldnt rely on it giving you any more coverage than what your foundation has provided, especially the translucent shade as this is purely used to set the foundation. It is a great affordable setting powder that is easy to use and does set your foundation and help control shine throughout the day.
With it being a pressed powder too I find that it applies better on the skin and it doesnt go every where when you are wanting to use it. Just be careful when you hit pan as like all pressed products this can make it crack a lot easier when you are carrying it with you, but just put a cotton pad in it and this should lessen the risk of this happen. The lid I found was deseaving as well, thought it was almost too easy to remove but aslong as its put on properly (ensure the two dimples are resting underneath the ridges) then you should be fine, just put it in a little bag if you are worried about spillage :)
This is a product that Im more than happy to recommend to nearly all my friends as most of them are wanting a powder thats going to give them a nice natural finish, set their foundation and is very affordable!
I will repurchase this one again for myself eventually and may try it as an undereye setting powder for a cheap alternative and see how that goes.
Tips: I have given a couple of tips in the review section but with applying the powder itself just be sure you use pattting/ dabbing motions with your brush before you go ahead and use swiping/ buffing motions. This patting/ dabbing motion just ensures that you are not going to move the foundation that you have just applied, its going to keep that foundation in its place. Still do swipping/ buffing afterwards however just so this gives you a nice natural finish. The patting motions can also help with oliy areas of the face too :)
I have been using Rimmel's stay matte powder for about 2 years now. I was in desperate need of a setting powder, but I was (and still am) a student. I saw this at the warehouse and it was the cheapest one I could find, so I decided to give it a whirl, and I've never looked back!
I use the shade translucent 001 for my natural skin tone, and there isn't a shade suitable for me when I am fake tanned.
I use a large, fluffy powder brush to apply the product all over my face to set my foundation. A little product goes a long way, if you use too much it can look cakey. It is definitely mattifying. My skin type is oily, pimple-prone and extremely sensitive, so I do need to be careful about what I apply to my face. The powder reduces the oiliness of my skin, so obviously keeps my skin matte as it says it does. If I do get a bit oily later in the day (or night) I can just apply a small amount to the affected areas, and it decreases the oiliness. The produst last about 6 hours before having to reapply, but this would depend on how oily your skin is.
I like the simple, clear packaging of stay matte powder. The clear, large writing also makes it obvious what the product is without having to dig all through your make up. what the Obviously the product has a powdery consistency. Stay matte powder doesn't really have a fragrance. It just smells 'make-upy' and not unpleasant.
I will definitely be repurchasing this product when I run out. It is very effective, so I would also definitely recommend it to others.
Tips: Look out for stay matte powder on special at the Warehouse and Farmers
