Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base and Top Coat

You can wear it on it's own as just a clear nail varnish or you can use it as the base or the top coat. It gives your nail varnish an unbeatable shine and longevity as well as slowly strengthening your nails as you go. If you wear a lot of nail polish, this product is perfect for you! Wearing too much nail varnish directly onto your nails can cause them to become dry, brittle and discoloured. Sally Hansen Diamond shine acts as a barrier between your nails and the varnish as well as helping your polish last! You genuinely cannot beat it!

Sally Hansen is a great lower priced brand of nail polish. So when I saw a buy 2 get 1 free deal at Farmers I couldn't resist trying Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base and Top Coat.

The bottle is a mirror-like colour which clearly 'reflects' the name Diamond Strength Diamond Shine. It's easy to open and the brush is a great size, perfect for nail application. The polish glides on easily but be careful as to how much you put on the brush as a little goes a long way.

The end result is a spectacular diamond shine that keeps my nail polish colour from chipping or cracking for up to a week.

Pros: Great shine, Reasonably priced, Conveniently located (Farmers, Chemists), Long wearing, A little goes a long way.

Cons: Bottle is made of a weird material.

This is my go-to product for clear polish, base coat and top coat. It has a nice finish on my nails, goes on well and is nice and thick. It lasts well and doesn't chip. I particularly like to use it as a glossy clear polish to make my nails look shiny and healthy.

I picked one of these up from the beauty vault and I am seeing some good results so far!

The packaging is probably the weirdest part of the product. Its a a nice shiny silver which is a cool feature but i can not figure out whether it is glass or plastic.. it almost feels like its glass with a plastic coating around it which cheapens the design a bit. The lid on mine also detaches from the brush sometimes but it screws back on easily so not a biggy.

Now on to the actual product. It goes on so easily, be extra careful to tap a bit off because a lot of product comes of the brush and its quite runny. I like that its runny because I find some of the OPI polishes go gluggy very quickly.

Drying time is reasonably quick, i'd say 2minutes tops and you're set to go with the next coat. I like that it is a multipurpose base and top coat too, super convenient. Make sure you use the push and pull technique when applying it and be extra careful that you don't apply too much as it has a tendency to bubble if you do.

I think this product definitely live up to its name "diamond strength" My nail polish is lasting days longer than it usually would and its all because of this stuff! Its making my nails incredibly strong and more durable.

After using this product I'm excited to try some more Sally Hansen stuff!

The packaging is clever, and is a glass bottle with a silver coating to represent the ‘diamond’ aspect of this product! In saying that, I think the bottle would have felt more expensive without a cheap coating, but I understand the idea behind this design.

The texture of this product began quite thin and the thinness of this product made it really quick to dry, which is something I love, since I hate waiting around for my nails to dry (I’m not very patient. After a while of using this product it slightly thicker, im not sure if this is normal but it did not create any problems and the product was still easy to use. However, when the bottle starting getting empty, I find the brush did not reach down enough to get the remaining product out of the bottle, leaving the brush with little product, and my nails with streaks! However, this is actually a problem I have with most nail polishes so I’m not that surprised by it.

I brought this at Farmers, and it sounded like everything I needed! A top and bottom coat, that would make my nails strong. Yes this product was a good base coat, and yes it was a good top coat! But I don’t think it made my nails any stronger! Regardless, I would still use it as a top and bottom coat, so I would recommend this product.

I use this whenever my nails are flaky, damaged and brittle. Always, always use this product after having acrylic or gel nails on for a while. It instantly makes my nails harder and stonger and is fast drying. I personally have never hasd the pleasure of 10 day wear though - but I think that is down to the individual, it proably lasts around 5-8 days on my nails.

This is a really great product, even more so for those that have weak nails. It has a simple yet Beautiful packaging with the silver and black and the shape of the bottle is easy to hold, not too small in anyone's hands, easy to open and a little elegant long stem down to the brush which is small and thin but it holds enough product to apply a nice base coat. The product which seemed runny was actually perfectly fine and dried the same way and in the same amount of time as any normal base coat, it had the normal nail enamel smell that's mostly unavoidable i think.

Now I used this straight after my nails came out of acrylic and I must say that this really speed up the process of bring my nails back to health, I loved it for that and I have since used it weekly and my nails are beautiful long and strong again, no more acrylic for me as long as I keep using this product. Highly recommend to anyone to use it, I even have it on my nails right now on its own as I love the shine it produces.

I was recommended this product by a friend when my nails were going through a very weak patch and quite often breaking. It is a good formula, easy to apply and a slightly shiny finish if not wearing with regular nail polish over the top. I found that it helped my nails somewhat but not dramatically. I will sometimes apply it now between manicures to help my nails recover.
