Sally Hansen Hard as Nails

I found this works for me, made my nails a lot harder and stronger, so it definitely done what it says it would do. I sometimes use it as a base coat or alone making my nails look smooth & shiny. However, I found that after a few days it starts to peel off making my nails look dry & flaky so you will need to apply regularly for the best results.

As a nail biter growing my nails is a struggle! I go through stages where I give up for a while and always use Hard As Nails to help me. If you are a biter you will understand how weak your nails get when you attempt to grow them. This definitely helps strengthen them and gives them a nice sheen too. I now just need to learn to give up permanently!

I have quick growing nails, and will often leave them long for the rare opportunities I'm able to paint them, which often isn't until school holidays. In between them, I'll use Hard As Nails to keep them from breaking during school. The product provides a nice, shiny, clear coating that definitely does what it says on the tin. However, it does wear away quite quickly, and requires a few reapplications throughout the week. I also find that it makes a good top and base coat, but usually quite dependent on the brand of nail polish underneath it. Overall, I find the product to be useful throughout times where nail polish isn't really acceptable, or just when you need a break from worrying about your colour.

This product is such a life saver! About a year ago,just before I found this product I had weak-ish nails that would always be peeling and breaking. When I found this product I used nothing but it for a while through the netball season,when my nails grew back they were much stronger and I could grow them much longer than I ever could before which was amazing. I still use this when between nail polish colours,it gives my nails a break from harsh things such as the nail polish I use that generally leaves my nails feeling weird and unhealthy. I never expected such good results from a nail product but,it really has done wonders for my nails. I could not suggest the product any more! I hardly use it anymore due to laziness but my nails stay strong from the last time I used it!

I started using this product a few months ago, hoping to strengthen my bendy, breaky nails. I continue to use it regularly under every nail polish, hoping to see results. I continue to use it, and would repurchase because it's a smooth base coat, but I'm not quite sure if there have been any changes in the strength of my nails. Some of my nails may have become tougher, but some of my other nails are still incredibly bendy. After reading other people's reviews though, maybe it's not meant to strengthen nails which are already there but somehow make new nails strong?

I have very weak, thin nails and this product did not work very well to strengthen them. I followed the instructions exact (apply the strengthener every 3rd day for 7 days in total, remove then repeat the process again).

I did notice on the first day (coat one) that my nails felt harder than what they did without it but by the time I added the second coat (day three) my nails didn't improve in hardness and the nail treatment started to bubble on my nails.

Using this product with the intention to solely act as a nail hardener it does not work for me but I do find it alright to use under nail varnish as a base coat.

For anyone with nails like mine (dry cuticles, weak paper think nails) I would not recommend this as a nail hardener but it is only 8.00 so it is cheap enough to have a go to see if it works for you. Worse case just use it as a base coat :)

I have a lot of issues with my nails spliting and cracking, so I decided to try Sally Hansen's As Hard As Nails in hopes that over time my nails might become a little stronger.

To apply it, you apply it just like you would any standard clear nail polish. It has a standard nail brush and is pretty much the same consistancy as nail polish. It drys quickly and forms a clear shiny layer.

However after applying it every week for 3 months I have seen no signs of improvement. My nails still split and crack and all the Hard As Nails does is act like a nail glue to hold the 2 pieces of nail together.

Would I repurchase? No. Although it dried quicker than most of my clear nail polishes, I don't wear clear nail polish often enough to buy it for that purpose.

This comes in a small bottle like clear nail polish with a brush in the lid. It is easy to use and looks like a thin coat of clear polish but does make your nails feel hard however I found. my nails became very brittle and cracked easier that before. I was disappointed as I ended up with more broken nails that before and I felt overall this product does not benefit the health of the nails.I felt for $16 this is overpriced and not effective.

I picked this up from The Warehouse on sale a while ago as I was looking for a nail hardener to use, and had heard good things about this one.

It comes in a clear bottle, with a normal brush. This doesn't smell too strongly, which is good. It's an average consistency, not too thick or thin however one time I went on holiday for a couple of weeks and when I came back mine had gone all goopy and thick, not too sure why that happened as I screwed the cap on tight but oh well. This did help my nails, but you have to use it continually or it stops working as well which is quite annoying.

I would probably buy this again, it's a good product for strengthening nails but when you stop using it the effects reverse a bit.
