I first picked this up in the Beauty Vault in the shade Pretty Piggy after hearing great things about the polish. I always find I get a maximum 2 days chip-free of polish, which suits me fine in the weekends but since I was going away on holiday I wanted something a little longer-wearing.
I like the brush of the polish, which is a bit wider than the usual polish brush. I found it applied polish well and pretty evenly. The formula itself is a lot thinner than I expected, so with one application of polish it looked quite streaky, two worked a charm to get a nice coverage.
I left it a while to dry however even when I felt like it was dry and applied the top coat it still picked up a little colour. I've put this on a few times and it happened each time so maybe I just need to wait THAT much longer before popping on a top coat.
I love the colour of 'Pretty Piggy', however it's lastability really didn't live up to it's claims. After 3 days I noticed it had begun receding from the tips of my nails, after 5 I gave up completely as it had continued to chip in places. It did last longer than my usual polish but unfortunately no where near as long as I expected.
I did repurchase this again in the shade 'Red Eye' which is a vibrant, true red, my favourite colour. The polish does give me good-looking colour for the couple of days I normally wear polish which for the time I need it is suitable for me.
I received this in the shade Dig Fig before it was even on the market. I love entering comps and I was selected by Sally Hansen to trial this. I was stoked, because I love nail polish and art and this was supposed to be revolutionary! I have never used something like it before.
So, it arrived and I ripped into it immediately. The bottles were big, with the topcoat being in a black bottle so you couldn't see how much was in it. I'd change that!
So, Step One: Apply the colour. Dig Fig is a dark red, perfect for winter. I opened the bottle to reveal an overly large brush. I didn't like it! My nails are too small for it to work properly. The biggest brush I am comfortable with is OPI's.
It applied overly much on my nails, even with rubbing it off before and I wondered how long I'd sit and wait for it to dry, but alas! One good thing about this polish: The drying time IS SO QUICK! Wow! I couldn't believe it! On to the next hand, where I applied too little and it ended up being streaky and patchy and looking horrible, even with two coats.
The top coat went better, but it takes off some of the colour and the places where you tried to even the colour out, the top coat ruins it again. Okay, so not much love. Sorry! All I could think of was thank God I didn't buy it!
Three days into my manicure it peeled off of my nails. I know what to do when prepping to ensure there are no oils or dirt on my nails, but it still peeled off. I wasn't happy at all.
So, I did it again. And again, a couple of days later it peeled off, or it chipped within two days. That's not what it promised, SH!
Without being overly negative though, here are some good aspects:
1. The finish is shiny and it feels like gel. I love touching it!
2. The drying time is almost instant!
3. You can use the top coat over a normal polish to achieve the same effect.
Unfortunately though, this didn't work for me and when I use the top coat over a normal polish it still peels off.
I have bought two more for a friend, but that's as far as I go with buying more. I won't recommend it based on my experience, and I definitely won't repurchase.
