I started seriously trying to grow out my nails at the start of this year, and now I've a hand of semi long claws. Some days I can't be bothered with a full on manicure, or I don't feel like having any colour on my nails. This is awesome for those lazy days because I don't like bare nails.
This goes on like a transluscent pink topcoat. Like the baby pink/nude colour you see under a french manicure. One coat looks just like a topcoat, but two or three coats gives my nails a evened out nude look. The brush is very short and small so for my longer nails I have to apply half and then dip the brush to do the rest of the nail. It dries quickly, and because it's transluscent you can't really tell if you accidentally scratch it or smudge it slightly. On me it lasts probably four to five days before getting so chipped that I have to remove it. Oddly enough, when I put the OPI matte topcoat over it, it chipped much faster. Within just three days my nails were webbed with tiny 'cracks' in the polish and I had to get rid of it.
I haven't noticed any drastic improvement in my nails but I feel like it does help somewhat protect my nails from snapping/peeling. I haven't noticed any accelerated growth either, but then again none of the other nail treatments have made my nails grow any faster. I would say this is good for when you want something on your nails but plain topcoat is too boring and a full on mani is too much effort.
I occasionally get peeling nails, and like to help keep them strong with a nail hardener/protector. Most on the market are clear, so when I saw this pale pink a few months ago I decided to give it a try. It goes on a very pretty sheer pale pink, and you can build the colour up with a few coats if you want to. I prefer the sheer look, so normally stick to 1 coat and re apply every 5 days. I find a sheerer coat lasts longer, and the product dries really quickly so there’s little downtime and risk of smudging. The brush is short, but I keep my nails short when they are peeling, so it doesn’t bother me. I have seen an improvement in my nails over the last couple of months and the sheer pink tint keeps my nails looking pretty and professional for work.
Tips: I like to do a full nail care routine, then apply the hardener and follow with a cuticle oil or hand cream once dry.
