As many of my reviews start, 'I was very lucky' to be gifted 3 Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss at once.
Visionary 8ml - soft medium peach/coral Kiss 1.5ml - light pink Belle 1.5ml - raspberry
All tubes of Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss are clear so you can see the shade but also how much is left. Visionary comes with a silver lid while Kiss and Belle come with a lavender lid which has gorgeous gold patterns on it.
I like the applicator wand on all 3 of my Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss's. They all have a slanted tip to easily glide the lip gloss around the shape of your lips.
My favourite shade of the 3 is Visionary as it is lightweight, long lasting and adds a hint of glossy shine/colour and warmth to my lips. Belle has the most pigment of the 3 colours and Kiss is a lot more sheer with sparkles.
All 3 of the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss are comfortable to wear and make my lips look smoother. They also have a slight vanilla scent/taste which is really pleasant.
My lips feel hydrated when wearing and I do not mind reapplying when needed.
I received a deluxe sample size of this gloss as part of a Sephora kit I ordered over the holidays. Due to the massive hype over the brand I was really excited to try this out, even though I'm not a fan of lip gloss.
The packaging of this is really pretty. The lid is silver and the tube itself is clear so you can see how much product you have in the tube. The wand is a regular doe foot and feels comfortable to use.
However the formula lets this down. I dislike glosses because they usually feel gummy or sticky on my lips. This was no exception. The formula is quite thick and goopy which felt really horrible on my lips and didn't look flattering as it left lines on my lips. The shade is pretty but not super pigmented so you can wear this over lipstick.
Despite the claims that this plumps and hydrates your lips, I didn't feel it did either of these things. My lips didn't feel or look any plumper and once this started to wear off (around 20-30 minutes), my lips felt dehydrated and like this had sucked moisture out of them. I found myself using a lip balm after using this.
In saying the above, this could just be the chemistry of my skin (I have dry skin anyway), or maybe I got a bad gloss. Either way I absolutely wouldn't purchase this again and I honestly would be loathe to recommend it either.
