I was given this as part of a present so imagine my shock when I found it it was over 30 dollars! A tiny sponge like this should really be under $10. Before trying the original beauty blender I had a cheap $1 beauty blender I bought off ebay. This feels more dense and it's definitely smaller in size compared to the cheap one. But in terms of application it's not actually that different. Each time I use it I spray it with some toner because I have seen youtubers soak theirs in warm water, but I really don't want to wet the whole beauty blender every time. The toner helps my foundation look more natural and spread easier. It does make my foundation look a lot more streakless than application with a brush, and the pointy end gets into the area around my nose and eyes really well. I think though for everyday use a cheap ebay beauty blender is sufficient. Considering one of these can buy 30 cheap ones, I'd much rather just buy lots of cheap beauty blenders which will let me swap out old ones more frequently too.

Tips: Remember to clean your beauty blender or chuck it out and buy a new one every now and then! These are absolute bacteria farms and can lead to acne and nasties!
After trying a lot of sponges, I finally bit the bullet and got one of these bad boys in a kit from Beautylish. To me these are quite expensive so I was hoping I wasn't going to fall in love.
The beauty blender is bright pink in color and the trademark tear shape, pointed at the top and rounded at the bottom. I'm not sure how true it is, but I've heard they sue people for 'stealing' their shape for their own blenders, which in my opinion is pretty pathetic if it is true.
The sponge works best when wet so I got to it. It applies foundation the way I expect it would, but it's not a miracle sponge by any means, it doesn't help the foundation blur my imperfections, and I haven't noticed I use less with the sponge either.
First wash I did the sponge bled out so much color, it was ridiculous. I was standing for 10 minutes pushing as much color as I could out. It dried in a regular amount of time, and shrunk back to the normal size. I will say, after washing it the sponge was softer, but I'm still not sure if its "better". For the price, I think this sponge is a rip, and I do think there are better alternatives out there for a quarter of the cost. I'm not sure what the hype is around these sponges, but I won't be repurchasing.
Its such a cool thing how you dab your foundation into your skin and leaves an airbrushed look to it. I love it
This was my first beauty blender that I purchased at Sephora and I'm in love with it!. It really does give off that flawless airbrushed looked when you apply your foundation with it. I don't ever use a stippling brush to apply my foundation or concealer I use the beauty blender.
Tips: Push and press your foundation gently on your face to get that airbrushed look and damp it a little.
Since I started using the beauty blender I haven't looked back. Its so much quicker and easy to apply my foundation with than a brush and gives me a flawless finish. I absolutely love the standard pink blender, but I also tried out the Red Carpet one (last years LE I think?) and it just isn't as good for some reason - it picked my foundation back up again, (maybe I just got a dud one but who knows). So I would highly recommend the standard pink blender, but I wouldn't buy another LE one.
Tips: Try using it with your powder to set the T zone (still damp - it works I promise!)
I WISH I DIDN'T LIKE THIS AS MUCH AS I DO. Because let's be real, $30 for a sponge is pretty ridiculous. But this little pink gem is brilliant.
It leaves my foundation and concealer looking so smooth and flawless and is so quick and easy to use. The point is perfect for getting into those awkward spaces like under your eyes, around the nose etc.
I've tried a few other sponges before which I was always happy with but the Original Beauty Blender always intrigued me and I eventually caved and got it. It really is a step above the others. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
Also great about it is the little container that it comes in - it's perfect to sit it in to let it dry!
So great. So so so great.
Tips: Soak the BB first and squeeze out excess water. Definitely use damp!
I was a bit reluctant at first to first this product. But now that I have started.. I wouldn't choose any other product. I love it! The flawless finish it gives is so satisfying and it's so easy to use. The pointed end is excellent for getting foundation into those hard to get places. I've thrown all my foundation brushes and sponges which means there's more space for make up which is a bonus
I was given an original beauty blender and quite frankly was baffled! It's pink and squishy and such a strange shape! But once I googled it I was thrilled. It definitely leaves my foundation looking much nicer no more streaks. I find the shape a little odd to use but I love the way my foundation looks now
Tips: I find that soaking and squeezing the blender first makes my product go on lovely and then the blender is not soaking up all my foundation! I wash my blender after each use with baby shampoo it comes up lovely and fresh
After a year of owning this much-talked-about hot pink sponge, I am still undecided each morning on whether I want to reach for it, or not. By weighing up my pros and cons it will hopefully paint a picture of whether it suits your own needs. I personally enjoy a full coverage, flawless finish, but am wary of it becoming cakey. I have tried many brushes and have never been pleased with the finish, so I either use the Beautyblender or my fingers. When I use my fingers there is no product wastage and it gives me the smooth, full coverage finish I am looking for.
When using the Beautyblender it run it under the tap before squeezing out any excess water. I then apply foundation either to my face or directly onto the Beautyblender. The sponge and water combo makes for a refreshing application. Using the Beautyblender takes a little more time and care than using my fingers, but the end result is an even, smooth, full coverage but not quite flawless finish. I also use the Beautyblender for applying concealer and it is particularly effective around the eye area. I certainly need to have a close check before putting the Beautyblender down, as it can be easy to miss spots such as the corners of my nose. The finish is lovely - full but not cakey. It is particularly lovely when I have a clear complexion. When I have blemishes, I do find that they are more effectively covered with my finger than the Beautyblender.
The two reasons I don't always reach for the Beautyblender are that it takes a little longer, and uses more product. There is a significant difference between the amount of product I use when I use the Beautyblender, compared to when I use my fingers. I'm not convinced that the difference in finish justifies how quickly I will go through foundation and concealer.
I have found an in between, and will often use my fingers for foundation and the Beautyblender for concealer and cream highlight. Would I repurchase the Beautyblender? No. It really is a product that you have to try for yourself, but I imagine it would be enjoyed more by someone who likes a medium, natural coverage or a dewy finish with lots of cream products.
Tips: Use the Beautyblender for applying cream highlight or blending out other cream products.
I really enjoyed using the beauty blender, it makes your makeup look more natural and even. To be honest I can't tell the difference in use between the beauty blender and the chichi sponges
Tips: Make sure it is quite wet
