Thin Lizzy For Those Who Know

As an ex staff member of the Thin Lizzy franchise I can tell you that unlike the TV adverts this product is definitely NOT for everyone. While it can look amazing on a small few, I would advise to treat with caution. My greatest success with this product has merely been to use it in very small amounts for contour to accentuate and highlight the cheekbones, and always well blended with other more sophisticated brands of makeup. Experience with makeup artistry and techniques is key for making this product look it's best. It's RRP is obviously inflated for effect and I can assure there are much better items on the market for less then half the cost.

Tips: Use in very small amounts in conjunction with other foundations and always blend throughly

Beginners guide to beauty.

This is an awesome product and I feel this is given to girls just starting out with make up. It's a 6 n 1 so it does everything and takes up little to no space in your handbag. Is an absolute gem but I feel like once you've used this you start getting more into make up and start upgrading to the high end brands and start collecting the products that you'd use for thin Lizzy. In English, thin Lizzy acts as a contour, lip colour and eye shadow. Over time u don't use thin Lizzy as a contour coz you'd upgrade to the ABH powder contour kit. Like that. It's the beginners prod to make up.

Way too sparkly!

I wouldn't use this on my face apart from maybe a little bit as a highlighter. The "illuminating" particles are too big and make you sparkle instead of glow.

On the body it is okay as people don't tend to look at your body so closely. Would be good on your legs to give you a bit of a tanned look as well as covering bruises, veins, etc.

Oh so young

I was given one of these in my early teens, oh those were the days! Sun in and thin lizzie!!! It is far to sparkly for me, and let's face it, unless you have a very specific skin tone, you'll end up looking cakey and orange. It's very easy to be heavy handed with it, which you generally can't come back from ;)

Tips: I didn't mind using a little bit on the eyelids, but that's about it. Tap off any excess product in your brush before applying to the face.

Perfect contour

I was introduced to the wonders of thin Lizzy from my Aunty who works at a pharmacy, so I got the combo set as a gift, in dark. I was at first not sure how to use it because the ads say you can use it "as an all over powder" but I definitely wouldn't do that. However, I'm surprised at the bad reviews because it actually worked amazingly on me as a contouring powder on my cheeks.

Although it seems small, it lasts for a really long time! I used my own brush as their brush wasn't my ideal brush (it was pretty terrible) and I had no problems with it at all.

It is nicely pigmented and goes on softly so that you can build it up yourself. You won't find the issue of having too much on the brush at first go because it doesn't really happen.

I would definitely rebuy this, I think that it definitely works for me!

Tips: Don't break the powder because you might as well chuck it from there!

Everyday glamour

Thin Lizzie has been a steady beauty essential in my beauty routine for years now. I love dusting this bronzer over my bb cream daily and foundation at night, it gives my skin a healthy summer glow and a bit of colour in winter without sun damage.

Tips: Each pack comes in a set of two with it's own brush, keep one compact in your handbag for an easy touch up should you find yourself with unexpected plans out and about.

Thin lizzy

This product didn't really work for me, it only made my face look shiny and glittery. It doesn't give me the coverage I was looking for, and I ended up just putting on too many layers until I looked a little 'cake face'. It is very light so may suit someone with very fair skin. would not recommend

Tips: be careful as its easy to over apply.

Thin Lizzy 6 in 1 Professional Powder Set

I remember thin lizzy from about 10years ago! My mum always had it in her makeup bag and I always used to look good for school lol. It comes in a really cute tin case and theres 2 of each product including powder, eyeliner, brushes and lipgloss. Its a great price too at only $50 it'll last you a good while.

Now to break it down and talk about each product... The powder comes in 2 shades, light or dark. I did find that it wasn't really great coverage for my normal to dry skin so I always end up buying the dark one just to use as a contour which works really great! I guess if you bought the thin lizzy concealer then the powder would work better.

The brushes these days I kind of don't like. I feel like they are too soft and dont really help with application so I just use one from an old pack.

The eyeliner use to be crap but they have upped their game lately so Im really liking it at the moment its nice and creamy and applies well to the eye and its half black and half brown also with a sharpener which is a pretty amazing.

The lipgloss.. well this lipgloss has been the same for years. Its a cute tube of clear gloss but its so thick and sticky and just overall annoying to use! I thought they would have changed something about this.

Lastly it comes with a mini cd which us I guess a tutorial and demo about thin lizzy. I will definitely keep buying this as I think its a great product to have in the kit as you never know when you may need it and it lasts ages!

Nope nope nope

I had this a long time ago and hated it even then when I was a beginner in make up, for one I did have the wrong shade and turned me orange! Even as a contour it was too orange based to look anywhere near natural!

I found if I put a light dusting it was fine but because it was so light I may as well have nothing on, I found it to be drying and cakey as well if you tried to get coverage.

Tips: Only thing I would use it for is eyeshadow

Meh

I tired this as a kind of 'why not' thing, and quite frankly there is nothing special about it. The powder it self has quite a nice texture and is quite smooth. However it is quite sparkly and is actually too dark for me. I got it in summer and it was fine but as I got lighter in winter it got orange. So even as a bronzer it couldn't use it. However I bought it in the tin pact and I love the brush and eye liner it comes with!
