I'm usually a light/medium tone so I tried the pale powder & even though I didn't use much, it still looked like a terrible orange fake fan on me.
In saying that though, it is great as a bronzer for contouring etc. I found the powder quite heavy when I applied it on my skin. I also tried using it as as eye shadow and found it stuck to my eyes very well, even without a primer.
I have used (and still do) thin Lizzy - not as an all over bronzer but to add a little colour to the face and neck area and as an eye shadow. I am impressed with the bronzer but not the mineral foundation as it leaves a 'dry and powdery' appearance. The eye pencil is one of my favourites as it is very soft and gentle on application but the lip gloss is the one product I personally think is dreadful - as it is very sticky.
I always see friends using this. But they tend to be quite tan/olive. So it's perfect for them.
I'm not , I'm a ghost.
And the adds on tv make it look perfect! And look like it will suit any skin tone...
So I had to get it... well.. I got the oompa loompa look...to build upto a good coverage it's waaaay too dark!
It really is only good as a bronzer or leg bronzer... (for me)
For someone as pale as I am , it is not good for an all over cover, unless you use it over top of your foundation, to warm up your face in summer..
To use this as an all over powder foundation I would turn orange...(to get a good coverage)
For me the best use was, arms , chest and legs.
So I feel like it's very pricey bronzer, for us ghostys.
The formula is good tho. Can't fault that.
Using it as a body bronzer , it didn't transfer and it did last all day!
The brush that comes with it, is a nice decent size, easy to work around arm , legs etc.
Tips: Go lightly !!!
I have been using Thin Lizzy for a few years now. I first got it as a Christmas Present. It is great as a bronzer/contour and natural eye shadow. It has quite a sparkle to it so I wouldn't recommend it all over your face as a powder unless you only use a small amount. I also sometimes use it on my lips and put a clear gloss over the top. Overall it is not too bad, nothing to write home about. I would say it is more of a 4 in one than a 6 in one. I have not repurchased this but if I got it as a present I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
Tips: Apply only small amount if using as an all over face bronzer otherwise you will look very sparkly and bronzed.
I use thin lizzy 6 in 1 daily as a bronzer and a highlighter only. I have found I need to use it lightly on my fair skin or I can look like 1 of willy wonkers oommpa loommpas (orange). Great on shoulders and chest for a light sparkle. Love the brush and the tin its packaged in.
I was bought this as a present and fell in love with it instantly because I was a beginner with no makeup whatsoever so a 6 in 1 was perfect!! I had to watch the instructional dvd after the first go because I well and truly stuffed it up and had big dark patches where I had put too much on. After getting myself acquainted with the brush and how to use it effectively I found it my bestest friend! My skin had a glow and a natural looking tan. I looked flawless with minimal effort and all for one price! I went back after I ran out and bought more, $50 felt like alot of money but with everything you get in the tin it's well worth it! I now use it as a contour over my foundation and as a natural all over body bronzer.
Tips: Watch the dvd it helps!
I get gifted this quite a lot. Its not something I would but for myself. For me it is not the "be all and end all" product a lot of people say it is. As a full cover I find it is very sheer and the colour builds up very quickly. I also find it makes my skin feel quite right therefore making me oily. I do however use it as a bronzer, blush and eyeshaow. I can achieve a quick sunkissed summer look with just a layer on my eyes and cheeks.
Tips: The colour build up is quite subtle so you can turn yourself into a umpa lumpa quite quickly. Make sure you apply it in natural light and blend it well.
I only use this now as an all over bronzer and ONLY in summer when my skin is more tanned. I dont find it helps cover the redness in my cheeks either. I would probably try it as a contour at some point but havent as of yet as I already have a couple of products that I like to use for contouring at the moment.
I dont rate the brushes that come with it either. They are always leaving bristles on my face after a few uses which I find seriously annoying. I would never pay full price for this and usually end up giving the brushes to my daughter to play with.
Tips: Dont pay full price for this.
this did not make me look amazing like the girls on the ad. me and my mum bought it from farmers and we were both expecting more from it. I use it as a light cover for lighters areas and it does make a slight difference and my mum has dropped hers and it has cracked so bad and hasn't used it since
