Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review

I tried so hard to love this but it just did not happen.

After reading rave review after rave review I thought this was going to become my HG mascara but was sadly disappointed.

Firstly the brush is pretty huge and I don't have the longest lashes so getting this on place other than my lashes was to be expected. What was not to be expected was that throughout the day it melted all over my face. I spent the day looking like a panda. The following day I tried to combat this with more under eye setting powder but I ended with the same result. From doing a bit of research some people believe this happens if you have oily skin but I'm on the dry side so not sure why this happened to me.

I then thought maybe it was because it was summer and maybe I was just getting a bit hot and bothered but it also happened in winter.

In the end I chucked this mascara out as looking like a panda was not the look I was going for.

I used this all the time! I love the volume and thickness this mascara gives me! I used this whenever I want to feel a little bit special or sexy :)

I received a mini of this in one of my quarterly Mecca Maxima sample boxes. I was very excited to try it out because of all the hype this product has. On the cardboard outer of the mascara it talks about stats around the volume and length that it gives - hence the high expectations. I love the packaging of both sizes of this mascara, the sleek metal barrel with a lovely pink hue also has the name 'Better Than Sex' down the side. The wand is quite large and has an hourglass shape, I don't mind how big it is, although I have gotten myself in the eye like twice now which isn't fun.

The formula itself is consistent and I am a fan. It does take a little bit to dry but I usually do my hair between coats. On a day to day basis I apply one coat, with a second coat on the outer of my lashes. It lasts a long time but I do find some fallout later in the day.

I am now onto my full sized version because I am a fan, but would be open to trying new mascaras. I think this is a good buy - but I'm not sure it lives up to all the hype it has going for it?

I'd heard about this mascara from friends and it definitely lives up to the hype. I've been asked many times if my lashes are real. I do have really long lashes and found that sometimes there was some fallout, but I've since switched to the waterproof version (which stays on forever unless you use a good remover!). They definitely make my lashes look fuller and longer.

I got a deluxe sample of this and I was so excited to try it. The wand is quite big but I find that my lashes really grip onto the wand and take a good amount of product.

My lashes look incredible with this mascara on! It holds a curl so well and makes my lashes look really long and voluminous.

The one downside for me is that it flaked off throughout the day. I wear glasses most of the time but sometimes I wear contacts, so when a flake of mascara gets into my eye when I have contacts in it can be quite irritating.

If it wasn't for the flaking, this would be my favourite mascara!

I got a sample version of this with a Christmas eyeshadow palette and when I first opened it I thought it looked really clumpy and was a bit nervous about using it.

Once I tried it though I was quite surprised as it didn't actually make my lashes seem too clumpy but still added a lot of volume and curl. It lasted the whole day and my lashes looked massive!

If you're looking for a mascara for an every day/natural/at work look then maybe this is not the right mascara for you. But if you're after something dramatic then this is certainly my first recommendation. I have since bought it in full size and waterproof full size. One thing I Iove about the full size one is the weight in the mascara wand which makes it feel really balanced and easy to use.

I wanted to love this. It has been recommended to me by so many people. The name alone screams it's going to be awesome right? When I decided I HAD to have the Peach Palette I ordered two mascaras as well.

I like the packaging, cute pink metallic. It's a little bigger than some tubes, but easy to hold. The brush is decent, I've come to like the rubbery type brushes - but this one curves well to my lashes.

The product itself goes on well, it can get a little clumpy, but I find a couple of light coats looks good. Mine dried out a bit quite quickly though, making it hard to use.

And that is about where the good ends. It flakes leaving little black marks on my cheek, and if those get in my eyes - OUCH! It stings! Towards the end of the day, despite not touching my eyes, I still manage to look like a panda.

I managed to combat all this by putting a layer of maybelline on top instead of a second coat - but it's not really worth doing that since the maybelline with 2 coats would achieve the same result.

I'm stubborn and using up what I have, but I wont buy it again...sex is better hehe

I received this mascara in a sample size through my Mecca Beauty Loop box and I was excited as I have been dying to try it as everyone raves about it. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. I found that some days it would clump really bad when I applied it and other days it wouldn't which I found odd. On the days that it didn't clump, I loved how it looked on my lashes but found it was quite flaky and by the end of the day I was left with black flakes on my cheeks which is not cute! I am unsure if I just received a bad batch as it was only sample size and I would look at possibly trying it again to see if it improves as I do love the way it looks once applied!
