First off, the name of this product immediately caught my interest plus constantly hearing the beauty youtubers I follow raving about it in their videos, so inevitably I bought the product to try it out for myself. And let me tell you I was not disappointed, as this mascara lengthened your eyelashes and makes your eyes pop. My favourite part of the makeup process is doing my eyes, so this has made my morning routine more fun.

Tips: You don't need much of this product :)
I find this mascara a bit overrated. I had heard a lot of good things about this mascara and all the hype about it which is why I bought this product. However for the price you pay I would rather use my maybelline mascara.
I like the shape of the brush which is an hourglass type shape that is thinner in the middle and curved inwards. The packaging is a very cute dusty pink.
I find that this mascara clumps a little bit sometimes and doesn't separate my lashes nicely. It gives your lashes a nice dark black tiny but it doesn't volumise or lengthen my lashes as much as I would like, even with curling my lashes before hand.
Overall this mascara is just ok but I don't think I would purchase it again. Two coats of my maybelline mascara can give me the same effect for half the price of this mascara.
I have found that this mascara can be really fickle at times and one day be the best thing in the world giving you volume and length without clumping and then the next day it clumps up and gives you stunted looking lashes.
I have found you need to work with it for a long time as it is a more wetter formula of mascara and takes a while to dry down on the lashes so be careful not to smudge onto your skin as it will be there for a while before you can attempt to remove it.
However, on those days when it wants to perform it really does and makes my lashes look like they are fluttery falsh ones, which is amazing, but the chances that happens on the day I need it too is slim, and I end up getting very frustrated with this, there are millions of mascaras on the market and a large volume of them half the price of this one that do the same or better.
I first bought this early this year after seeing youtube video after youtube video of beauty gurus raving about it. I bought it for $35 which is quite alot for me as I am a poor uni student. So I used it for the first time how I would use any other mascara and.... It was CLUMPY, SPIDERY AND DID NOT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE. At least for me anyway... Maybe mine was a bad batch or something because there have been so many good reviews about this but I never wore it because it made my eyelashes look so yuck.
So for a few months I just continued wearing my Revlon mascara because it works and is safe for me. It ran out a few weeks ago and so I decided to go back to the Better than Sex mascara. This time, I used a new technique of application. As i pulled the wand out of the tube, I scraped one side along the edge. This means that one side of the wand has all the product and the other only has a small amount. I used the side will all the product on the ends of my lashes and used the side with a small amount from bottom to top. This made a big difference in how the mascara looked. I wear it a lot now (although that may just be because I have no other mascara to wear).
In conclusion, I would not buy this product again (nor would I recommend to a friend), as I know there are plenty more mascaras out there that work the same if not better. I will however keep using this until it runs out.
Best mascara in the world!! I will never use a different mascara as long as I live. I have used this one for years now and it’s the best on the market. Not an awful price tag too. Gives you heaps of volume as well as length and lasts all day. Seriously best mascara in the world
Tips: Buy the waterproof instead of the Norma as it’s a bit less flaky. Also buy the smaller bottle and change it regularly as the large one lasts a long time and mascara is a breeding ground for bacteria!
The mascara comes in a large size tube, making it easy to hold and find in my make up bag. The wand is long and the applicator takes on and holds quite a bit of mascara. I love how I could take my time to apply the mascara to my eye lashes as some mascaras start to dry really quickly on the wand.
I loved how dramatic and full it made my lashes, as my lashes need more oomph rather than length, and it definitely delivers!
The downside for me, is that mascara rubs off on my cheeks. I have very small almond shaped eyes with high cheeks, and when I smile, my cheeks rub up to my lashes, beauty problems!! I don't mind the occasional smudge say on a hot day, but this would happen all day long. I even made sure to not let my cheeks squeeze my eyes until they dried :( I switched to the waterproof formula but it did the same thing, though a bit less. So the waterproof one is is my current go to when I want a dramatic lash but also have access to a mirror often and can touch up.
Tips: You can purchase a smaller tube at some of the make-up stores and give it a test go!
This is a good mascara, yes. It did give great lashes, but they weren't as dramatic as i had hoped, and especially for the price i paid. I ad heard wonders about trying this holy grail product, but i came away feeling disappointed. I think high street brands pull off the same effects.
I found it extremely clumpy when I first bought it because the brush is enormous and there the prouct is so thicc - there is just so.much.product on it. I ignored the mascara for about a month and then went back to it and had a much better time with it.
It's a good mascara but for me, it did not live up to the hype, IMO you can get the same results for less money.
Best thing about it? The packaging. Keep that wand and use it with other mascaras.
Tips: If the product is new - scrape as much product as you can off it before you apply.
While I love this mascara it does not live up to the hype.
I brought the small bottle to trial it and while I definitely love what it does it is rather flakey once dried and I always end up with flakes under my eyes and looking like my bottom lashes have disappeared within a couple of hours.
I have heard the waterproof version is better for not flaking but haven’t been game enough to try after this one.
I still do use this mascara most days as I love how it makes my top lashes look but I will apply another mascara to my bottom lashes.
So ... if something markets itself as 'Better than Sex' that's some pretty serious hyping up of the experience. You expect.... well...... the mascara equivalent of fireworks.
Unfortunately this mascara falls short on every consideration.
I (thank goodness) stuck to the travel sized one of these, picked up at Mecca Maxima to simply see what all the fuss was over. The packaging is admittedly cute, with a very on-trend metallic rose outer, and an interesting brush.
That's where the positives ended for me. The rest was more bad dream than great sex! The formula is clumpy and really nothing special. While it defined and darkened lashes, it didn't hold a candle to my usual faves. It was harder to work with and the end result was merely 'okay'.
As i went through my day, if my makeup ran at all and this got into my eyes, they stung and I had to immediately remove it, which was a bit of a process. It wasn't super easy to remove.
It also has a strange smell to it that was really noticeable until it dried.
In short, I don't know what Too Faced were thinking with this one. If this is what sex were like, I'd be celibate by choice!
Tips: Don't. But, if you must, buy the small size.
