Great little brush

I've never had a brush like this before. I mainly use it to apply and blend highlighter and blush. Its definately better than a normal 'blush brush' as it gives you a little more control over application. It has short bristles but a lot of them and it gives a really nice coverage. I'd certainly buy another one, have really enjoyed using it. :-)

Tips: First time users go easy and apply more as you go otherwise you will end up with distinct lines from your product.

Not quite right for blush/contour

I was excited to see a brush in the beauty box. Upon opening I found a soft brush cut on a slight angle with lots of tightly packed bristles. I tried this brush for both blush and an attempt at a powder contour but I found that it left my face with harsh lines and looking too clownish! I found that because the bristles were so tight that the powder just sits on the top of the brush which most probably contributes to the harsh lines it creates. I then tried this brush for applying my powder foundation and I find that I love using it for this purpose! It buffs out my powder nicely giving good coverage and I will continue to use it for this purpose and leave my blush application to my lovely round blush brush! As its only $10 I'm not too disappointed that it didnt live up to its purpose- I'm quite happy to use it for my foundation. I also didnt have any bristles fall out so it seems like pretty good quality.

Tips: When using for blush or contour use a light hand and wipe off any excess onto your hand before applying as it does seem to apply the colour quite harshly! Experiment using it to apply different aspects of your makeup if its not working for you in the cheek department!

Cameo Angled Contour Brush

This brush fascinated me as it was smaller with more tightly packed bristles then my other contour brushes. It took some getting used to as you need a light hand to get the effect you want. I like the softness of the bristles and get the light contour effect I want. I have washed it once and dry it in the sun due to the brush density.

Flawlessly does the job

I got this product in the BRBB, and up until then I hadn't thought much about the types of brushes I used (normally using whatever was lying round, eek!) But this bad boy has done wonders for my contouring skills. I found it was soft to touch. and held my powder well. After the first day using it I had 2 different friends compliment me on my skin (even though I ws using the exact same powder)

I will definitely continue to use this, and would look into getting more brushes from the same brand.

Beauty Box Special

I saw the shape of this brush and thought it's not going to work for me- I have never even contemplated buying a brush in this shape before - do I even try and use it or pass it on? Well I tried and I like. For the size of the brush the hairs are quite short, they are soft, but bunched together in the circle shape like they are make it quite firm. I have used it for blush and bronzer, it's a really good cheek brush- the round circle shape works for my cheeks. I find blending easy with this brush. I like that it gives more definition to my blush- it is very controllable. It picks up the product really well. It cleans up a treat, no shedding. The price is right, I recommend giving it a go.

Contour? Not so much. Foundation? Absolutely!!

I love makeup brushes, so it was really exciting to see this in my BRBB, especially given it’s from an inexpensive and easily found brand. So far it’s actually surpassed expectations, although I’m using it differently to how the name suggests.

In terms of how this looks and feels it definitely isn’t super luxurious – simple silver plastic handle, metal ferrule, and tan synthetic bristles. It’s not super heavy, but the bristles are nice and soft. However, it’s not ugly, it’s just no-fuss, which is fine by me.

I tried using this for contouring, but I prefer using a really fluffy brush so I don’t pick up too much product. I found this, while being a nice shape and size to fit in the hollows of my cheeks (or at least where they should be if I had any haha), was pretty dense, and meant that I had to blend heaps and heaps to get my bronzer/contour shade diffused enough for my liking. I did use it a few times for applying highlighter, which I liked, but again, I already have brushes I like to use for that.

The way I’ve really loved using this is as a foundation brush. The angled flat top means that I can buff liquid foundation out really quickly and easily, and the synthetic bristles mean it doesn’t soak up too much product. I have been really impressed in that it doesn’t leave any brush streaks whatsoever, and to be honest, I’ve enjoyed the finish even more than the one I get when I use my RT buffing brush (shock horror!). Using this brush, I can apply my foundation perfectly even more quickly than if I use my fingers.

I’ve cleaned this a number of times now, using my Bossy brush cleaning kit, and I haven’t experienced any bristles falling out. It does take a wee while to dry, because the bristles are so densely packed, but once it is dry it’s as soft and ready to go as ever.

This really has been a gem of a find, and I’m so thankful it was included the Beauty Box. For the price and quality, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to try a buffing-style foundation brush.

Great inexpensive brush

When I got this in the BR Beauty Box, I really didn't expect much from it. However, it proved me wrong because I loved this for light contouring. I don't do heavy contour on my face but I do have a subtle one to add definition.

This angled brush is great at creating the hollow on the cheeks and it's a great size for my face. I just use this to dab bronzer lightly on the cheeks and I use a light hand. I think this brush is also quite versatile as I've used it for blush too.

Overall, for the price, I can't really complain about this brush. It was better than I expected it to be.

Not for the hollows

I received this item in the September BRBB. The brush is a short-handled silver tool with dense soft bristles. It comes in basic pink cardboard packaging with "helpful hints" on the back.

I would have preferred "how-to" tips rather than unhelpful hints like "using the Cameo Angled Contour brush apply bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks" etc. That doesn't tell anyone how to use the brush effectively. Do we press, swipe, dab?? Is the top of the angle towards my ear or away??

The bristIes are soft but I found that it sheds even after washing. It would only bother me if it cost me a trip to the moon. I've used a similar brush in the past and I'm still not convinced about its contouring functionality. For me when it comes to contouring the true test is the hollows of my cheeks; everywhere else on the face is manageable.

I dab the brush into my powder bronzer, tap off the excess and press along the hollows of my cheeks. I gradually buff it out in small circular motions. It cleans up the area very nicely but the brush reminds me of an angled buffer brush that I use to buff out blush if I get a little carried away. I feel like this brush takes away the definition I'm trying to achieve with contouring the hollows.

Instead I prefer to use it to highlight and buff out blush. I still prefer the slanted brush for contouring because it allows for easy sweeping motions that doesn't move the makeup below.

Tips: To highlight the area below the corner of my eyes up to the sides of my temples I pick up the highlight and press the product into my skin without tapping off excess. Once I've added my blush I go in with the ELF Kabuki brush to soften the highlight.

Doesn't blend nicely :(

I bought this item for the warehouse. It comes in a very basic cardboard packaging, and the price is great. I got it on sale for 50 percent off!

The first time I used this with my contour kit, it didn't work out very well. I applied to much contour on the brush, and it left me with a big dark line across my face. Which isn't the brushes fault ofcorse, but the brush didn't help the matter.

Next time I used this brush with my contour, I applied small amounts at a time on to the brush before putting it on my face. The brush helps the product go on well, but when it comes to blending, the brush doesn't blend well at all. Even though I only had a small amount of contour on my fave, when I went to use the brush to blend, it left my face looking dirty. This resulted on me having to do my make up again.

I wouldn't use this brush for contouring again, so I use it to apply my bronzer instead. Because my bronzer is a lot light, you don't really need to blend it out as much as a contour.

Over all I do think the brush is okay for applying bronzer, but I think calling it a contour brush is quite misleading.

Contour Brush

I received this in the last Beauty Box and was really pleased as I wanted to experiment with a brush instead of a sponge.

The packaging, is very basic with a cardboard backing covered with sealed plastic. The brush has a metallic barrel attaching brown toned bristles . The brush is quite firm and is cut on an angle. With the PP of $10 it is very reasonable compared to a lot of other brands on the market. I found the brush easy to hold but found it left streaks on my face where I had applied make up.I had to use my sponge to smooth out the marks. I am inexperienced at using brushes so possibly some of the problem is my technique so I will persevere and perhaps wash a few times to soften the bristles which may improve the end result. I was pleased to have the opportunity to trial this and will comment further if I find the brush softens with use so marks are not left. No bristles fell out during use or washing but up to date washing has not improved the result for me.
