This is a great little buy for $14. This is a great dupe for the Naked 2 Palette in colour, especially if you can't justify spending so much on an eyeshadow pallette. It has reasonable pigmentation - I frequently use it without an eyelid primer - but it definitely doesn't hurt to use one if you want the pigmentation upped and to extend the longevity of the eyeshadows. These blend well, I've never had any problems with that. All in all I think this is a great little buy for the price.

W7 In The Buff Palette Review
W7 In The Buff Palette An eye shadow palette containing 12 inspired shades for a natural look.
Reviews
Tips: Don't bother with the little brush it comes with, and it does have a wee bit of fallout.
Bought this as a dupe for the Naked 2 palette and received it about 2 weeks after I managed to grab the actual Naked palette off my friend. This was only 12NZD on ebay so for the price I really didn't expect much.
Packaging: This comes in a tin similar colored to the Naked 2 tin. However this is much more flimsy looking and somewhat resembled a pencil case. It also feels much lighter to hold. There was no mirror on the inside cover, which is a bit of a bummer because I quite like having a mirror with the palette because it means I can touch up if I want on the go. There was a really weird plastic smell when I opened the lid and that smell still lingers around. It's unpleasant but doesn't affect the shadows themselves.
Eyeshadows: They are much more powdery and had more fallout in comparison to the Naked shadows which were buttery and smooth. However on top of a primer these still blended out very well and looked very smooth. These were surprisingly close in terms of color. The closest are probably Foxy vs Buff, Blackout vs Onyx and Verve vs Silk. Although most of the colors are slightly different from the real Naked shadows, they're definitely much more similar than other dupes I have seen. My favorite out the palette are Onyx and Camel because they're extremely pigmented and feel the smoothest when used. I'm super impressed with the darker brown shimmer shades Topaz and Wave which are really sparkly but not obnoxiously glittery.
I didn't like the brush that it came with at all. The brush side was alright and I have used it for highlighting my browbone. The sponge side is one of those cheap applicators that are absolutely useless.
This palette is a really great dupe for the Naked 2 and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try out the Naked 2 colors or be able to create similar looks without splurging on the real deal.
Tips: PRIME! It makes such a difference with this palette and makes the shadows 10x smoother
I really ADORE this palette from W7! This is my first W7 product I have purchased so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had been hunting around for a decent eye shadow palette for a long time now. I picked this up at the Big Bucket Sale for $9 which is such a bargain as these retail for $20.
I love the packaging! The tin it comes in looks pretty damn flash. I was so impressed when I first saw this. I noticed when I opened it up there was no mirror, which wasn't a biggie for me anyway- I don't tend to use the mirrors on them. I'm not a fan of the applicator it came with, I don't tend to use them either, so I just threw it out.
One thing that I find that is such a shame is that the eyebrow's are not named! Such a bummer! Most of the eye shadows have a shimmer in them. The 1st shadow is the lightest. I use it as a brow highlight everyday. To me it looks matte but if I look carefully there are a few tiny shimmers in it but you cant really tell. The second shadow is a bronze/gold shimmery colour. I typically use this on my lid, in my crease or on my lower lash line. Such a gorgeous colour! The 3rd shadow is a lighter shade. It is shimmery and I love to use this in my inner corner for the perfect highlight!. The 4th and 6th color are both shimmery and I just use them in my outer v. The 5th shade is 100% Matte and its more of a taupe colour. I will forever use this as my crease colour. Its also beautiful on my lid paired with thick winged liner. The 7th, 8th and 9th shades are starting to get cooler and more ashy towards 8 & 9. All shimmery. 10 and 11 are darker bronze shades with shimmer perfect for the outer v. The last shade is black and its more of a matte shadow. I love this for my lash line or to define my outer v for full definition.
The shadows last all day even without a primer. They are very long lasting. But I do warn you be careful on the fall out, especially on the darker bronze colours. They are the ones I have the most problems with.
Overall I love this palette! I will be looking at buying the rest of them soon.
I'm not a big eyeshadow wearer but I bought this and the In The Nude palette from a makeup sale and I really like them. This palette has more browns and gray than the In The Nude palette but the shadows are pigmented considering it was really inexpensive. It is in a tin and the packaging is quite bulky but it has 12 nice shades.
I think the palette has a good combination of mattes and shimmer eyeshadows and I like the copper tones here too.
For someone like me that is still new/learning eye makeup, this is a good start.
I didn't realise that this was a dupe for Urban Decay Naked 2 palette until after I brought it. I love these eyeshadows, they have the perfect amount of shine and shimmer, a good variety of colours, and can easily be used to make any look from natural, to a dramatic nighttime look. The staying power is pretty good for the price also.
I purchased this from Postie Plus for $15. I wanted something with a decent range of colours, so many palettes like this don't feature a good range. I find that this is great for doing a day time smokey eye look without looking like you've gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson :) It wears a lot better than others I have, usually if I put it on in the morning it's still okay by evening. I find it really handy to be in a tin and it's slim enough to pop in a handbag if need be.
Tips: If you have hazel/green eyes like me, there's a shimmery orange gold colour that makes your eye colour pop if you use it as the inner eyelid colour above your iris!
I recently just became fascinated in make up and with the pricing of make up being way too expensive in NZ, I had no problem grabbing this $12 palette as well as the 'In The Night' palette by w7 (I forgot the price) at those big bucket makeup and fragrance sales that happen quite frequently now. For $12 I thought that was quite a steal considering that this palette goes for $30-$50 at make up direct stores!
I find that the shadows are a little powdery, and sometimes can clump up a little if you grab too much product on your brush, if that makes sense. it has a decent amount of pigmentation but putting either a primer, or base underneath makes the colours become a little more vibrant than going without. Overall, its just a good palette for beginners to play with just to get the hang of playing with eyeshadows and has a good selection of colours to work with that can be easily worn to any occasion, day and night. The brush is okay, but if you have one that works better then by all means use that instead. I find that I don't use the sponge applicator at all & just use the brush to highlight my brow bone as well as packing on colour to my lid.
So until I get better tools, skills, and products, I'll be sticking to this from now on. Overall, good product.
Tips: Use a primer, or have a base to make colours more vibrant. Wet your brush to make the shadow more smooth and easier to pack on the product with little fallout. Use shadow shields or hold a piece of tissue under the eye to catch fallout.
After buying the 'In the night' palette by W7 I was so keen to get the rest of the siblings to go with it. I was rather impressed by that one so my expectations were already pretty high for this palette. I am usually in to bright and bold colours so it was quite an experience to actually want to buy a nude/neutral one.
The cases it comes in is beyond cool. I only know of this brand (but then I am not that knowledgable of cosmetic brands) that uses a metal case as the surrounding. It both serves as a great protector and also looks pretty dam hip and chic of you ask me. Inside it has a spongey like material around each shadow to I am guessing protect it further. It comes with an applicator that on one end is a brush and the other is a sponge. To be honest it isn't very useful to me. I prefer my RT shadow brush. This applicator has far too much fallout and tends to scratch the shadows.
The colours inside are made up of browns, taupes, and bronzes. They are gorgeous and there is also a shimmery shadow for those up market nights out or just because you want to stand out. These colours make a great no makeup makeup look or are great for making a subtle nude smokey eye.
The shadows themselves are not very pigmented in my opinion. I find that I have to do a few swipes, at least four to make any real impact. Lasting power is not very good. I find after two or so hours my shadow has shifted to the crease of my eyes and it is when I am not sweating or anything. The colour is near non-existent except in the crease. I am not sure if it is because I have hooded eyelids or because of the quality of the product. The next time I used a setting spray which helped a tad keeping it in place a bit more but still didn't do what I wanted it to do.
All in all this is a great nude palette for a beginner or for those who like valie for money. I bought mine for $15 from postie plus so for that much it is definitely worth it.
Tips: Use a primer and setting spray to help keep it in place for longer
I honestly have to give this palette a good rating. For $12 I wasn't expecting great thing bit it actually blew me out of the water!
This palette comes in a tin which is quite cheap and tacky but this is probably the only downfall for me.
Inside 12 shades. From mattes to shimmers. From browns to blush pinks and golds. This palette can easily create an everyday wearable loon to an evening smokey eye look.
The colours are blendable and pigmented. Yes you do need to work the colour pigment up to get a good colour build up. One swipe leaves a subtle colour for a less is more look.
I find they last the day with a good eye primer but on their own they do fade and crease. So Ladies and Gentlemen use a primer with these bad boys.
I will re purchase this palette and I am looking at the different shades you can get. Definitely something worth having in your collection. Good for beginners for sure.
At such a great price I'm really happy with this palette.
Tips: Use a eye primer :)
I was expecting great things from this pallette but it was abit of a miss. I dont really like it and i dont find the colours are overly pigmented. it was super cheap so i can't say much for the price but i find my other cheap pallettes are miles better and i never tend to reach for this one often.
