Got to love these palettes. They come in easy to open and close metal cases and with their own brushes. So fun to collect them all, but this one in particular is a personal fave. Love to experiment with all the different shades to create gorgeous smokey eyes that last ages. Build up the colour or try a more natural look. Use the brush or your finger tip. I always use a priming base before applying any eyeshadow and I find this really prolongs the look. I’ve accidentally dropped this palette and luckily none of the shadows broke or fell out, so it’s pretty sturdy and well made.

W7 In The Buff Palette Review
W7 In The Buff Palette An eye shadow palette containing 12 inspired shades for a natural look.
Reviews
I honestly have to give this palette a good rating. For $12 I wasn't expecting great thing bit it actually blew me out of the water!
This palette comes in a tin which is quite cheap and tacky but this is probably the only downfall for me.
Inside 12 shades. From mattes to shimmers. From browns to blush pinks and golds. This palette can easily create an everyday wearable loon to an evening smokey eye look.
The colours are blendable and pigmented. Yes you do need to work the colour pigment up to get a good colour build up. One swipe leaves a subtle colour for a less is more look.
I find they last the day with a good eye primer but on their own they do fade and crease. So Ladies and Gentlemen use a primer with these bad boys.
I will re purchase this palette and I am looking at the different shades you can get. Definitely something worth having in your collection. Good for beginners for sure.
At such a great price I'm really happy with this palette.
Tips: Use a eye primer :)
This stuff is great- even for every day use. It's quite pigmented, and I wasn't expecting that for something so cheap. I don't use an eye primer every day (eye shadow somehow stays on my face) but I have used with primer and it makes the shades bolder. I also got the mini version of this for my partners sister, and she loves it too.
10/10 would buy again.
Tips: With or without primer will be fine. Would recommend using something under your eyes to catch the eyeshadow fallout.
I bought the W7 In the Buff Palette from Postie Plus for about $12, I heard it's very similar to one of the Naked palettes. The eyeshadow palette comes in a cool tin that is nice and easy to open. The colours are really nice natural nudes, there's a few of them that I haven't used but alot of great shades that look great blended together. It comes with a brush/sponge which is useless so definitely apply the eyeshadows with some good brushes. A good eyeshadow primer is a must with these as i found they dont stay on long without it and the colours look alot better. Overall this is great for the price you pay.
I really ADORE this palette from W7! This is my first W7 product I have purchased so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had been hunting around for a decent eye shadow palette for a long time now. I picked this up at the Big Bucket Sale for $9 which is such a bargain as these retail for $20.
I love the packaging! The tin it comes in looks pretty damn flash. I was so impressed when I first saw this. I noticed when I opened it up there was no mirror, which wasn't a biggie for me anyway- I don't tend to use the mirrors on them. I'm not a fan of the applicator it came with, I don't tend to use them either, so I just threw it out.
One thing that I find that is such a shame is that the eyebrow's are not named! Such a bummer! Most of the eye shadows have a shimmer in them. The 1st shadow is the lightest. I use it as a brow highlight everyday. To me it looks matte but if I look carefully there are a few tiny shimmers in it but you cant really tell. The second shadow is a bronze/gold shimmery colour. I typically use this on my lid, in my crease or on my lower lash line. Such a gorgeous colour! The 3rd shadow is a lighter shade. It is shimmery and I love to use this in my inner corner for the perfect highlight!. The 4th and 6th color are both shimmery and I just use them in my outer v. The 5th shade is 100% Matte and its more of a taupe colour. I will forever use this as my crease colour. Its also beautiful on my lid paired with thick winged liner. The 7th, 8th and 9th shades are starting to get cooler and more ashy towards 8 & 9. All shimmery. 10 and 11 are darker bronze shades with shimmer perfect for the outer v. The last shade is black and its more of a matte shadow. I love this for my lash line or to define my outer v for full definition.
The shadows last all day even without a primer. They are very long lasting. But I do warn you be careful on the fall out, especially on the darker bronze colours. They are the ones I have the most problems with.
Overall I love this palette! I will be looking at buying the rest of them soon.
I didn't realise that this was a dupe for Urban Decay Naked 2 palette until after I brought it. I love these eyeshadows, they have the perfect amount of shine and shimmer, a good variety of colours, and can easily be used to make any look from natural, to a dramatic nighttime look. The staying power is pretty good for the price also.
I actually grabbed this as my free item when Postie had a buy 2 get 1 free special, so no complaints here! Although, I would have happily paid the $15 for this palette, it's totally worth it.
These shadows are reasonably pigmented, not full on or anything, (but I guess that's why people pay big $$ for high-end ones.) Anyway, they are certainly pigmented enough for me as I don't feel the need to have a full on solid hue going on.
These shadows are nice and soft, so your brushes pick them up and apply them smoothly. The range of colors are great for both everyday demure looks, as well as creating smokey, dramatic looking eyes.
Most of the colors in this palette are shimmery, however there is a matte beige, brown and black.
Definitely recommend this palette to anyone looking for a very affordable option, without compromising quality.
I immediately thought of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes when I spotted this. I don’t have any of the palettes myself so I can’t compare them very well but the W7 in the buff is a definite dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2. I love all the colors in this palette, they can make so many different looks to take you from day to night, it’s great playing around with the color combinations to see the looks you can create. All of the colors in this palette have neutral brown\gold hue except the black. They almost all also have a slight shimmer to them which looks great when applied on the eyelids. However, I do think they could be slightly more pigmented.
I love the packaging of this product, the pale gold tin is very pretty and definitely mimics the look of the Naked Palettes. I was quite disappointed though when I went to use the brush with this palette, it’s very thin and a little scratchy so it doesn’t apply the eyeshadows very well. So I have been using one of my QC eyeshadow brushes instead. This palette has become a favorite of mine and it’s only a fraction of the cost of a Naked 2 if your looking for a cheap alternative. Have you used this palette? What’s your favorite Naked dupe?
Beautiful colours long lasting easy to blend! Great for a beginners makeup bag. Lots of shades! Heavy packaging and dont like the foam but for $12 cant complain! Defiantly recommend
When W7 released their own nude palette I wasn't interested in it as I loved my Urban Decay naked palettes and was content with the amount of nude palettes I owned (Well I thought I was) , Until recently Postie plus sent me a wonderful package (Thank you Postie plus) filled with different types of beauty products including their "In the buff palette". This retailed at $15 and I wasn't sure what to expect.
It comes in a tin container, and a similar colour selection of shimmers and mattes, comparing it to the Urban decay naked 2 palette. It has a double ended eye shadow brush but no mirror inside.
There is a versatile range of nudes that go from light matte and shimmers that gradually darken to an off matte black shade. I find the matte shades harder to work with but the shimmery shades blend very easily. The texture of these are soft with a minimum amount of fallout, For the price the formula of these are overall great, the eye shadows dont last very long but if I apply an eye shadow underneath it makes the eye shadows long wearing.
Overall I was very surprised with this palette, for the price it is worth every cent, I would highly recommend this for those that are beginners with makeup or on a beauty budget. I have used this more times than I had imagined I would and created so many different eye makeup looks from natural to smokey cut crease.
Tips: Apply an eye shadow base before applying the eye shadow to help it last longer on the eye lids.
