I’m a sucker for Dermalogica products and find that in general they are worth the extra money and far superior to other cheaper products out there. A case in point would be Dermologica’s Daily Microfoliant - this is a gorgeous product that is worth its weight in gold (see my other review on this here: http://www.beautyreview.co.nz/catalogue/skin-care/face/exfoliation/dermalogica-daily-microfoliant?p=1 . But when it comes to Dermalogica’s Active Moist moisturiser, I’d have to say that it’s just ‘okay’. It doesn’t blow me away. And for $94 for 50ml, ‘okay’ is not what one would expect, There are plenty of other moisturisers out there that I believe do a better job - and, as an added bonus, are are cheaper. Loreal do some lovely moisturisers, and even the supermarket-bought, cheap-as-chips Olay moisturisers can feel better on my skin! At the moment though, I’m using a Frulatte Vitamin-C infused moisturiser and it is just wonderful! So I am sorry Dermologica, but your expensive no frills Active Moist Moisturiser at $94-a-pop just doesn’t do it for me.

This product is one I used professionally and personally, but I just found it a little bit too light. I like oil free moisturiser but this just left ny skin feeling like I needed a lot more hydration and nourishment. I would end up using two or three times as much but it was still missing something. I found it the same with client skin. Just not quite enough. It's a shame because it has some great ingredients, but I think even for really oily skin (like I have) it's still not going to be quite enough as it's thehhydration you need to receive to control your oil flow. A shame given the price.
I bought a full sized tube of this at David Jones for about $80 some time ago after a consultation. I found this to be nice a light moisturiser to put on after washing my face and it was absorbed easily. It was nice, but it wasn't great. I don't think I'll be buying a full size of this product again.
Tips: Ask for a sample of this before considering a purchase as this product is expensive for skin care.
This made me rather oily. I use to use it when I was younger, tried it recently and it wasn't great on me! I would like to try it again during a different time of year to see if that makes a difference.
Tips: ask for a sample before committing to a full size as its expensive!
