Tips: This product needs to be mixed up into a foam for best results as the water activates all the enzymes that are in this product. :)
I enjoyed using this product. The microfoliant was kind on my skin and left it feeling silky smooth and not at all irritated. The only down side was if any water got in the container it clumped the powder and caused the powder to take on a rancid smell. Now I get that you shouldn't put any water in the container but honestly, That is really tricky when you need to lather up the exfoliant. Maybe a better dispensing top would help.
Tips: Keep away from water :-)
There is a reason why daily micro is the number one selling product globally for Dermalogica - it's just that good! I have been using daily micro for years and I wouldn't be without it. It's active ingredients keep my skin soft and is brightens it, giving me a real glow. It's powder like form is gentle enough to use every day even for a sensitive skin. A little bit goes a long way so $90 a bottle is pretty reasonable in my option as it will last for about 6 months.
Tips: Shake about the size of a 10c coin into your daily cleanser to give yourself a power cleanse and cut the time in half!
So easy to use and just an amazing feeling after every use. I have found this product especially good after a night up with my little girl, it's a little pick me up...brightening and just leaves me refreshed! After continuous use the skin just glows and never feels over exfoliated
Tips: I leave it on for a few minutes after massaging it around the face and then rinse it away...just enhances the exfoliation
I began using Dermalogica daily microfoliant 6 weeks ago (along with other Dermalogica products), and I noticed results upon its first use.
I have oily, pimple-prone skin that's also extremely sensitive, and daily microfoliant has not caused any exacerbations of these skin issues.
The fine, white powder is light and needs to be mixed with a little water to be used. Some people may find this extra step frustrating, but it does not bother me. I was in the habit of using a harsh exfoliating cleanser twice a day because I got blackheads, so I felt that they needed to be scrubbed away morning and night. This is simply not true. This exfoliant is gentle and can easily be used everyday without the risk of sensitising my skin. It removed blackheads only using it once a day. daily microfoliant also has salicyclic acid in it which will help combat any new pimples that want to set up camp on my face.
Daily microfoliant is expensive, but most definitely worth the price tag.
When it comes to an exfoliating scrub, I like something that actually FEELS like a scrub. None of this super soft buffing carry on, I want something that effectively buffs away the dull skin to brighten my skin and leave it smooth and soft. I was a bit doubtful at first that the power would work, but was pleasantly surprised! It's gentle but you can still feel it working and the results are really proof in themselves. Using this 2-3 times a week (because that is what worked best for my skin), one bottle lasted for ages, making it super cost-effective.
Tips: Don't leave the container in the shower, because if the powder gets wet then it's basically game over.
I had a facial at a salon and was recommended to purchase this which I did. I have combination skin and can get quite dry in parts. I loved the smell and every time I used this it transported me back to the salon where I had my facial - I felt so pampered! It lasted quite a while, but was a little on the pricey side. Good for a treat.
I have been using this product on and off for around 15 years and find that the older I get, the better it works. When I was younger I found it a little too drying, but now it never fails to leave my skin glowing with good health and the perfect clean and smooth base for makeup. I don't use it daily as I think that would be too much, so if you find it too drying, ignore the "Daily" bit of the name and just do what suits you. I keep mine in the shower and find this doesn't affect the powder at all. I'm not sure about the evening of skin pigmentation - maybe if I used it daily - I have a couple of dark spots on my face that are particularly stubborn no matter what I try.
I started using Dermalogica daily microdfoiliant around 6 years ago. I used it, as it suggests, everyday. This resulted in my skin being totally stripped of it's natural oils and over producing oil to make up for it, which, resulted in continous breakouts. I spoke to a Dermalogica expert who suggested that maybe I cut it down to using 2-3 times per week. I tried this but I still continued to get an excess of all build up through the day. Again I spoke to another Dermalogica consultant who then suggested that it was much to much exfoliation to use it more than once a week. So, again I tried using it once a week and still, too much oil which resulted in breakouts. I spoke to another skin specialist who said "Don't use that again, that is terrible stuff, It's far to tough on the skin". What I liked about the product was the packaging and look and idea of the product but the reality is that this product left my skin with that dry feeling that you get from putting soap on your skin.
Tips: If you are really insistent on purchasing this product, purchase the travel size bottle first to try it. If you are struggling to find a good exfoliator for combination - oily skin, try a non granule approach.
This exfoliator is a lovely luxurious, effective product. If you want gentle, regular exfoliation, this is the product for you. However, if you require easy to use, no-fuss exfoliation, you should look elsewhere.
The deal with this exfoliator is it is a powder in the container. You open it up and the top is like a huge salt shaker. You sprinkle/pour the exfoliator onto your hand, then mix with water to create a lovely textured exfoliating wash. After using it your skin feels lovely and soft, without being irritated by harsh scrubbing.
This all sounds great, but I always do my exfoliating in the shower. I lived in fear of water getting into the large holes on top. I don't know for sure, but I suspect a little water in there would have clumped the whole thing together. In that respect, the large sizes (and large price tags) of Dermalogica products are an issue - it's just more product to ruin!
So if you wash your face at the sink and enjoy products that are a little more interactive, this is a great choice for you. If you want something straightforward and easy to use, this is not your best choice. A lovely product, but not the one for me!
