I used this product personally and professionally for about two years but I just found it a wee bit too drying, and far too harsh for every day use. I don't recommend anyone to exfoliate daily as it dehydrates and then makes your skin oilier. I found with this particular product that even just using it every couple of days it was very drying. You're meant to mix it up with lots of water so all the grits dissolve and just the enzymes work your skin, I did just that but I still found it drying. I never sold one professional unit..
Tips: Don't use it every day. Regardless of what a product says, it's not good to force your skin to shed that much that quickly.
I really felt like this product made no difference to my skin. It didn't make it worse, so it didn't irritate the skin or anything, but there was no improvement, it just felt like an extra step that I did in my routine for no reason. I also found it a bit messy/annoying using the powder, I think I prefer to use a conventional exfoliating gel or cleanser.
This came in one of the Beauty Boxes I've purchased, and I was excited to see a Dermalogica product. Sadly I found it just didn't really feel like much was happening when I used it. I'm used to using exfoliant products where you can feel the granules, this one just felt a little muddy. Perhaps it was doing the job in a subtle and sophisticated way, but I just didn't feel it, so wouldn't buy again.
I tried this after a friend reccomended it to me. I have normal to dry skin with hormonal acne, I felt like this did nothing. I like to feel like my exfoliator is doing something (both physical or chemical), so this didn't give me that feeling. I also broke out quite bad after using which I don't with other brands, however it could be the salicylic acid in it. I gifted it to my mum.
I have very sensitive skin and found this a little to harsh for my skin I would break out in red patches occasionally. Would be great for normal skin!
Tips: Do not use on overly sensitive skin
The product looks similar to a talc. You put some on your hand and mix with water. I think it's to expensive for what it is. You have to be so careful adding the water, if you add to much you can't use the actual product. It's good to use on sensitive skin. Leaves it feeling smoother.
Tips: Place in Palm of hand, use other hand to put under a tap and dribble the water into the product. Less chance of washing it away by accident
I have been using this for several years now and it is quite nice... though it really does need to be used EVERY DAY to make a noticeable difference. It is very gentle so good for sensitive skin. Like all Demalogica products it is quite pricy, but also goes a long way.
Tips: Use every day for decent results
I purchased this a while ago during my first dazed visit to David Jones, it's a pretty mesmerising place. I had purchased this as part of a cleansing routine and was pretty dubious about this product. I like the pottle that the product comes in and discovering that the microfoliant is a powder was quite a novelty too. I used it on my face and my face felt cleaner but not as clean and smooth as the moisture mist face cleaner I still have in my bathroom. It's ok, but my skin seems to prefer something else more.
I started using Dermalogica daily microdfoiliant around 6 years ago. I used it, as it suggests, everyday. This resulted in my skin being totally stripped of it's natural oils and over producing oil to make up for it, which, resulted in continous breakouts. I spoke to a Dermalogica expert who suggested that maybe I cut it down to using 2-3 times per week. I tried this but I still continued to get an excess of all build up through the day. Again I spoke to another Dermalogica consultant who then suggested that it was much to much exfoliation to use it more than once a week. So, again I tried using it once a week and still, too much oil which resulted in breakouts. I spoke to another skin specialist who said "Don't use that again, that is terrible stuff, It's far to tough on the skin". What I liked about the product was the packaging and look and idea of the product but the reality is that this product left my skin with that dry feeling that you get from putting soap on your skin.
Tips: If you are really insistent on purchasing this product, purchase the travel size bottle first to try it. If you are struggling to find a good exfoliator for combination - oily skin, try a non granule approach.
