Dior Hypnotic Poison Review

This has been my favourite perfume for the last 5 or so years. I find that it is a very unique smell and I love the strength of the vanilla notes that come through. Always get compliments every time I wear this.

This perfume is amazing!! Although it is expensive, it's worth it. It has a very sophisticated scent to it, it's very vanillary. You only need one or two squirts and the scent lasts all day.

This is my all time favourite fragrance! I love the vanilla tone it has to it! Unfortuantly it is quite expensive.

My Mumma had a bottle of this when I was younger, I loved it so much and the scent has never left my mind. So when I managed to get $60 in Farmers vouchers I decided to purchase a 30ml bottle. Making it only $45 to buy. I don't need perfume, it's probably the last thing I should of bought but it's good to have lots of choice right?

The gorgeous bottle reminds me of an apple, glossy and bright red I just want to bite into it. The black lid on top makes the juicy red bottle stand out even more.

I take the lid of and spray my neck, the spray nozzle on this is awesome, it seems to spray really wide. 1 spray will cover my whole neck.

When I first spray it is like a vanilla overload all vanilla and not a lot else. I start thinking I have made a huge mistake buying this bottle, and doesn't smell as amazing as I remembered. It actually smells like clothes that have been in the dryer too long and come out smelling kind of burnt. Once it dries I still get that vanilla scent but with a woody/oriental undertone. It's warming and a great scent for winter however I don't think I could wear it in summer as I would imagine it would be quite heavy.

For an EDT it lasts for hours I don't need to top up during the day i can spray it at 7am and can still smell it at 7pm. It smells the same all day it doesn't change, it doesn't have all the different layers like some of my favourite fragrances do.

While it's nice I won't repurchase. It doesn't smell the way I remember or maybe it just suited my mumma but not me. For me the vanilla is too strong and overpowering.

I'm a big fan of Dior's Poison range and had to have this in my collection. I love the bottle design with it's deep red body and gorgeous black lid. I feel that this is definitely true to the Poison range with it's deep seductive fragrance. I definitely smell vanilla, almond and possibly caramel but the fragrance isn't quite like candy because the vanilla seems to take this fragrance to a more enchanting level and prevents it from being too sweet and sickly. I find this fragrance is too strong to wear in warmer weather as it seems to be overpowering when your body temperature heats up but it's great to wear during the colder months.

I got given a minature of this and I loved it so much, more than any other fragrance i've ever sampled.. I had to have more!

This fragrance is very vanillary, super smooth vanilla with a touch of spice. Anyone who loves vanilla is sure to love this fragrance!

It's quite a strong smelling fragrance, intoxicating and seductive but sweet.. The name is totally appropriate.

This is my first Dior fragrance and it's totally convinced me that I need to get my hands on the other Dior poison fragrances also!

I find perfume descriptions a funny thing. If I picked on the ingredients I would never get a scent I actually liked. In contrast, the description of this perfume sounds far too strong and musky for my taste. Yet when I apply it, the lack of sweetness (the bitter almonds perhaps?) means the scent has depth without being overpowering. From a scent I didn't think I would enjoy/suit, this has become a very moreish product. I can't stop sniffing my wrists!

I am a fan of vanilla so this has been a much loved perfume for many years. I tend to only wear it at night for special occasions as it is quite strong and on the pricey side. It is a perfume that I have to be careful with when I apply it as a little goes a long way, it's pretty strong!

I purchased this by mistake a good mistake. I love it. It comes in the same style bottle as Poison but it's a mauve colour at the bottom blending to dark red with gold writing. This perfume is very intoxicating and bold and sweet I always get compliments on it. I wear it when I go out very empowering scent it's quite special! Also it is not as strong as Poison I find I have to top up on a long day. :)
