I was given this is a gift. It's certainly not something I would buy myself as the fragrance is extremely strong and unfortunately is overpowering on me. If you like to be smelt before being seen, this might be the scent for you!

Tips: Night-time only wear!
This is a fragrance I can spot a mile off, but not for good reason - to me its a migraineous trigger.
It's very floral, like super duper, really floral. Overly floral. A bouquet of the strongest smelling flowers ever.
As Dior fragrances go, this doesnt smell classy to me, it smells cheap and nasty.
Does smell really nice on some people but on me it is overly sweet and a very synthetic floral, it doesn't have enough going on in the background for my liking. I prefer Midnight poison and Tendre poison (now discontinued) to this.
Tips: Victoria Beckhams 'intimately beckham' is a very close fragrance to this and is worth a try if you like this and want a bargain.
I loved this perfume in my younger years, but as I've gotten older either my ol factory senses have changed or the way my own skin reacts with this has..
I have this perfume on my dresser at the moment as my daily wear perfume. It's subtle, which I like, but I feel as though it isn't the best of the series. Over the year and a half I've had it it's as if the perfume has lost its scent. It smells more like alcohol than perfume at the moment and I'm not sure if it's because it's nearly empty or why this has happened? I really love the packaging, but I'd rather buy another one in the range.
I have a lot of Christian Dior perfumes & I was given the pure poison as a gift. WOW it is certainly different to all the others. I do like the smell but I find it very over powering even with just one tiny spray. Maybe it is the sandalwood coming through. I sometimes just apply the body lotion & even that seems to last a long time on my skin. Probably the reason I don't wear it often is because it is so strong & I was always told you shouldn't be able to smell perfume on yourself. I guess it depends on the mood but I do prefer the tendre poison as I find it sexy & seductive & less over powering. I quite often choose what perfume to wear as to what colour clothes I am wearing & I specifically have perfumes for work & then ones for play & for evenings out. It can be very costly though...
Tips: You do not need to apply much so start with one spray & go from there
This was one of the first perfumes that I bought for myself. I thought it was a good choice for me as a teen. I was partly influenced by my mom who wore Poision, the one in the dark purple bottle. I liked this one because it smelt more fresh and a little less sweet than my mom's. It was one of those perfumes that when I smelt it I knew it was the one for me, loved the opening notes of jasmine and orange and that instead of musk to give it depth it had sandalwood and amber. I'm not a huge fan musk, as it comes across to me as a more masculine scent, and I ideally didn't want to smell like musk once the top and middle notes faded. Like a good quality fragrance it lasted and lingered on my skin for hours. The bottle is this pretty opalescent flower shaped one. While this iconic perfume is still a favorite my current tastes have shifted towards some other fragrances that have been more affordable as well, although I would never object to receiving a bottle of Dior Pure Poison.
Tips: Spray on pulse points. Heat and light can change the fragrance over time so it's best stored out of sunlight and heat.
I have this scent in the EDP 50mI size and it doesn't get as much use as it should. I do really love the smell of this perfume but as soon as I spray it on I find it very overpowering. The strength of the scent does seem to decrease slightly to a more tolerable level as it warms into your skin, but, for this reason I only wear this perfume sparingly and if I am going out and not going to be in a small space.
The scent is a very deep strong floral scent definitely more suitable for more mature women and for nighttime wear. Due to the strength of the scent it does have a very long lasting time so you definitely get your moneys worth with this one but it is not my favourite from Dior's poison range. A very pricey scent that I probably wouldn't repurchase just due to the limited use I get from it.
The bottle design wasn't a factor for me in choosing this scent but it is lovely, simple and classy just like the scent.
Tips: Use SPARINGLY
I absolutely love the scent of this perfume, it's great for nightwear as it lasts all night and is a bit stronger than normal day time wear perfume. Love the packaging and the scent - floral but also with a hint of sophistication and fun is perfect for going out, especially if you are getting glammed up for the night!
I received Pure Poison as a birthday gift and as my perfume motto is 'In Dior We Trust' I spritzed it on without a second thought. Big mistake!
The power of Pure Poison is truly overpowering - its a sickly sweet, floral to-the-max scent. To me it's indolic to the point of repulsion. And man does it linger. A good shower doesn't get rid of it!
I'm a major Dior fan and the Poison range is a bold set of scents that are not going to appeal to everyone, so maybe this one just isn't for me, I certainly would rank it as my least favourite perfume. Ever. Behind the smell of bin juice.
