I tried these wipes when they were on special, because as we all know wipe-buying can be an expensive purchase! The wipes did the job okay but had a smooth texture which almost seemed to glide over the skin and I had to really rub my skin for it to get the makeup off. Also found that one wipe wasn't enough to get makeup off, which I found odd as never had that problem before. These may be really good for people who don't wear makeup but not for me.

Tips: Might be good for non-makeup wearers
I purchased these as I was going away for a few days and they were on special at the supermaket. I would not have purchased for the normal price of $14.99. I found I needed two to three wipes to remove the make up and i wear minimal. I had to all but scrub to remove eyeliner and mascara. Got there in the end though. I had to put them in a zip lock bag as after a couple of uses the tab was loose and the wipes felt like they were drying out. I liked the bright packaging but over all felt this product let the dove brand down.
Tips: only buy on special
I have dry, semi-sensitive skin with a semi oily t-zone.
I used to use this product for taking the bulk of my make up off before I go onto cleansing. It takes my eye makeup off with ease but tread carefully! It does sting slightly so I don't imagine contact lense wearers or anyone for that matter would appreciate that. If you are careful not to get the actual residue in your eye, it's totally fine. I just use it on my eyes to start melting all the mascara and eyeliner before I go into using a cleanser.
The towelettes themselves are gentle on the skin and they have a decent amount of wetness to them. Texture wise, they feel very soft.
They weren't lying about the "lotion" in it because it leaves residue on the skin, which to some people, might not necessarily be a bad thing.
I don't think it does moisturize and tone much though. I think it's just your standard make up removing wipe.
I also do not recommend using this as the one and only product for your nightly skincare routine. I did it once because I was having a particularly lazy day and regretted it the next morning because it broke me out. It might not break other people out but I still don't think make up remover wipes, no matter how good it says it is, should replace your cleanser, toner and moisturizer.
Overall, a very decent product.
Tips: Be very gentle on your eyes and do not use as the one and only product for nightly skincare routines. :)
I wear a lot of makeup and after trying many different formats my favourite way to remove the bulk of my makeup is still the cleansing wipe. Dove Beauty Cleansing Wipes fit the bill nicely as a way to effectively remove makeup before carrying on with my skincare routine.
The packaging is your standard cleansing wipe resealable packet, which unlike many does stay closed still after many uses. I like the baby blue and white colour choice as it ties in well with the Dove brand.
The wipes themselves are a thick weave and a generous size as far as beauty wipes go. They're quite heavily fragranced, it's a nice 'Dove' smell but the amount of perfume seems very unneccasary to me in such a product.
I was pretty impressed with the performance of the wipes, they're really effective at removing most of my makeup including my Benefit They're Real mascara, which no other wipes even budge. They claim to cleanse, tone and moisturise and while my skin did feel soft and cleaner than pre-wipe, I wouldn't use them as the sole step in a skincare routine and always follow their use with a full cleanse.
I probably wouldn't purchase these again unless they were on special as $15 is a lot more than I'm willing to pay for a pack of 20 wipes, but if they were more affordable I would happily repurchase as a pre-cleansing option.
Tips: Keep a pack in your travel bag, great for freshening up.
I brought these recently when they were on a buy one get one half price offer at the local supermarket, reading the packet it seemed to be suited for my dry/combination skin so into the basket they went (flashy sale and offer stickers always make me head straight over)
The pale blue packaging and little silver dove on the peel back protective flap just scream I’m a dove product at you, and talking about the protective flap...Hooray!!! it actually re-stuck after multiple use, this is often the leading downfall on wipes as they all dry up and become hard to use, or not useable at all. I’m sure there is a life hack out there for storage of wipes to prevent this from happening but I’m far too lazy...hence the wipes in the first place to go source that out.
Cloth wipes are generous size with just the right amount of moisture in them to quickly but effectively removed about 80% of my makeup, including waterproof mascara – bonus!!! No second step needed there. I still always cleanse my face after removal of makeup with an actual liquid and water as it’s the best method to keep my combination skin under control. The material used in the wipe also never ripped as I used them, or did it take vigorous rubbing to remove the makeup, the wipe remained soft throughout.
It’s still not topping my favourite wipes but there isn’t much wrong with these, I would probably re-purchase if I saw them on offer again as they are still a little expensive at around $15 per pack when not on offer.
I picked these up at the supermarket for about half the normal price which is apparently $14.99. The packaging is a nice blue colour with the usual flap on top. I always put these cleansing wipes packs into a zip sealed plastic bag because the little flap on top usually comes loose and doesn't stick down any more. The wipes have a pleasant perfumey fragrance and are quite wet. I found that the wipes removed all my makeup easily and left my skin feeling soft and moisturised. They say that they cleanse, tone and moisturise in one step, but I would still follow my usual routine with my usual beauty products as well. I would purchase again if on special, but not at the full price.
Tips: Pop into a small plastic re-sealable bag to keep moist.
I'm not typically a facial wipe user but i grabbed these before going to hospital for surgery, super handy for being bed ridden. Very moisturizing but i did find my skin felt a little sticky afterwards. A pleasant smell
I love to keep some facial wipes for those times I want to remove my makeup very quick and don’t have the energy for my usual use of cleansing and toning.
These wipes come in so handy for days that you want to just hop into bed but need to get your makeup off ASAP.
The packaging is nice, with its blue and white color scheme. The Dove brand has some lovely products for the price point, so I was excited to try.
The formula is nice and removed my makeup well, mascara and long wearing foundation. It also felt gentle on my skin and didn’t cause irritation.
The wipes did the job well and I would recommend. Overall I give these 4 stars. A great product from Dove.
I purchased the Dove wipes when we were going on holiday and was thrilled with the results. A little pricy for daily use but super effective. They removed all traces of make up (did use a second wipe to check) and had no problem removing waterproof mascara either. The leave the skin feeling clean and soft. A gentle product but 100% effective and no need to drag them on the skin to remove make up (eye make up included). I would continue to use these without a problem if they were a little less expensive but they are the perfect companion for travelling and they do not dry up if sealed correctly. Love them!
I found these on special at the Warehouse for only $5.00 a pack, eager to try them mainly because they were much cheaper than my usual wipes and thought I would give them a go.
They took my makeup well, but left my face really shiny, and somewhat oily. I really hate the feel of oily skin, it smelt like perfume, which i disagree with putting on my skin (maybe I should of read the packet and ingredients before I purchased these).
I couldn't bring myself to finish the packet because as I said, oily shiny skin isn't my favourite :( I didn't think they were very moisturising or toning, just an average makeup remover wipe.
I was highly disappointed in these wipes, maybe they just didn't agree with my skin, but they didn't work well for me unfortunately.
Tips: When using these wipes, be careful around your eyes, as it stings so bad and will make your eyes red if you touch to close to your eyes :(
