I purchased the Medium to Dark Skin formula even though I am fair skinned. It goes on easy and has a pleasant enough smell. The colour builds up after a few days and then I just used every third day or so to keep the colour even. I liked that it didn't go patchy throughout the week so it was never obvious that I was wearing a 'fake tan'. I did find that it didn't dry vey quickly which made it awkward to use at night time before bedtime, and you definitely need to wash your hands after using. A good product that does what it says it will but I probably wouldn't repurchase due to the drying time.

Tips: Don't use when you are in a hurry to get dressed or go to bed :)
I'm two sided with this product it dose deffinatly give you a summer glow but applying this stuff evenly isn't as easy as it seams I mean you put it on like any other moisturizer but this one tans an well I find every time iv used it I come out with blochy ankles wrists and nice orange stains on my clothes. I would probly not buy this product.
Tips: Apply a small amount you don't wanna look like a orangatang... Or a dalmation :)
I have the palest palest skin, so I dread the first hot days of summer when I have to brave a skirt at work but it's too hot for tights - I've had many orange streaky disasters in my quest for healthy tanned skin, and Dove has been a consistent performer for the last 5 years. It smells nice, no chemical smell, and tans gradually so you don't turn up at work looking like an oompa loompa - there are no orange knees and ankles and it's a nice natural colour - the only downside is that my nice white towels get a subtle "glow" as it seems to come off a little the next day in the shower
Tips: Exfoliate Exfoliate Exfoliate!!!
I'm pretty sure most women in NZ have a bottle of this in their cupboard. It is great to have on hand for the start of summer when the body hasn't seen the sun in a while and is lookin a little white. It is so handy to be able to apply a few times and know you will have a nice glow prior to hitting the beaches. The main reason I couldn't scare a 5 here is because the smell is obvious. Even though it doesn't smell bad - it smells like fake tan and every time I put it on someone says to me "Oh you've got you're summer glow on today" which I don't think I a great comment to get when you want people to thing you're tan is real!
Tips: Don't use it every day and exfoliate prior to using. Good if you are a night shower person and can put it on before bed so the smell isn't so strong the next day.
I can't say I fake tan on a regular basis but when I am feeling a bit pale or want a nice even glow this is the product I go for. I do need to make sure I rub it in very well as it can be easy to miss a few spots but when I am though this product gives me an even glow.
Tips: I am pale but go for the medium/ dark shade this way a little goes a long way and I can get a nice natural looking tan in just one application. Apply the night before as can smell quite fake tanny.
This product was released many years ago now and I remember using it back when it was first released. It definitely did as it said - light tanning lotion that gradually built with no lines or streaks plus moisturiser! For all these reasons I was impressed, and I could use it every day without the colour darkening too much. The only thing that I wasn't impressed with was that the lotion still smelt a bit like regular tanning lotions, that lingering smell that makes it very obvious that you might be faking it! This smell set in after an hour or so of wear, so not obvious on initial application.
So I'm already tan and do not need his but I love using it to make my skin look even in colour and gives me sun kissed bronzed legs that I love!!!! However I do feel like it doesn't work that well for my lighter friends but for myself sure does!!!
The tanning cream is nice to use for a tanner glow and it makes you feel more confident and I can wear shorts without having to worry about being so pale
Tips: I suggest you don't apply another layer after one night cause it dies appear orange
Dove’s summer glow is a gradual self tanner that slowly gives you skin a natural sun kissed glow. I enjoy how easy this moisturiser rubs into the skin and doesn’t rub off on my clothing and sheets after applying. It also leaves my skin super soft.
Tips: Be extra careful applying around knees ankles ect...
I picked this up recently at the supermarket. This is the first and only self tanner I have ever used. I used to use this all the time in Summer but as I have gotten more in to makeup self tan has gotten less important. I think this is a great product for newbies to self tan like my self as it is so gradual. I picked this up in the lightest shade as I am super pale.
The packaging is super simple. Just your usual body lotion container. I like that the plastic is a light yellow which matches the glow theme. The lid also fits really tightly which is great as you don't want this to get onto other materials.
The consistency of this product is similar to any other body lotion that you might try, just a thin cream. I do find that this has a bit of a self tan chemically smell but I usually do this at night and by the time I get up in the morning I can't smell it anymore. Because the product builds up so gradually I find it is easy to make sure you don't get too much around the knees or ankles. It means that you can get a nice glow on your skin rather than a darker tan, and it only takes 2 to 3 days to build up to a nice level. Then I will reapply every second or third day to keep it up. I do find that this feels quite greasy on the skin initially but it sinks in over an hour or so. It also moisturises your skin very nicely meaning that you can have both lovely moisturised skin at the same time as producing a lovely glow, perfect for winter.
For me this isn't a product that I go out and purchase as soon as I have run out as self-tan isn't the most important thing in my beauty regime. But it is something I like to have on occasion, and for such a cheap price it isn't hard to pick it up from time to time.
