Dr Lewinn's Ultra R4 Collagen Surge Plumping Gel

I have tested Dr Lewinn's Ultra R4 Collagen Surge Plumping Gel for under 2 weeks at the time of this review. I apply it in the morning and evening on my sensitive skin, which turns dry and red in the winter.

After application, on the first day, my skin felt well hydrated and smooth. It seemed to restore the moisture right away. It was a nice feeling.

The gel presents itself in small pink pearls, very soft and very light. I haven't found it very easy to apply at first as the pearls would "fell off" my face. I therefore decided to rub the pearls in my palms and then on my face and neck.

The gel smells fresh and invigorating. A small pea size is enough and I find that quite economical. However, the jar contains only 30ml and is therefore a bit more pricey than other products.

I really like how the pearls feel and would definitely recommend it to friends.

The Gel was hard to get used to with the pearls but if my hands were warm they spread easier. I found it rehydrated my skin nicely and made it feel nice and tight. I dont think i used it long enough to see resukts of wrinkles but i dont doubt that it wouls improve fine lines. I also noticed it hekped with my black marks under my eyes which worked brilliantly. Definately keep using this product.

With winter well and truly here, my skin was in dire need of something extra to help brighten, smooth, and hydrate it, so I was very excited to trial this plumping gel.

Dr. Lewinn's product always look so lush and extravagant, and this was no exception and was a delight upon opening the box. Good clear instructions on both the box and the jar is appreciated so I can throw the box away if I wanted to.

I was expecting to see a smaller jar within excessive packaging as is often the case of specialized gels, but that wasn't the case here. Inside the packaging is a gorgeous little metal spatula which you can use instead of fingers to scoop out. I'd recommend using it rather than fingers also because it measures out the perfect amount of product to cover both face and neck.

The scent of the product is subtle and really lovely, and the gel glides on easily and evaporates into the skin without a sticky residue. Very luxurious. I wasn't a big fan of the plumping pearls themselves as they tended to drop off my face and into the basin rather than melt on contact as promised. I found it easier to apply to my fingertips and smear them on instead.

The end result is very pleasing from the first application, and each day, my skin seemed to have more vitality and freshness which I loved. I would definitely use this product again.

Upon opening the jar I thought it looked like it was crammed full of fish eggs!! Even though I'd seen photos of the 'pearls' I wasn't expecting them to be so....obvious!

First job was to get the little spatula off the lid and use it to scoop up some of the fish eggs. The spatula is a little fiddly. The packaging does suggest using fingers instead but I just can't make myself dive my fingers into the egg puddle!

Getting the right amount of eggs is a balancing act because a few go a long way! Initially I picked up too many but soon got it sussed. I wondered how the eggs were going to feel but as soon as they hit my skin is was like they melted. I was half expecting to find little pink egg skins all over my face but they just evaporated.

The gel (and eggs in their entirety) were absorbed super quickly into my skin. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a sign my skin is desperately thirsty! It didn't leave any greasiness or oiliness. I did have some occasional dry patches but they were very small and didn't last long.

Since using Dr Lewinn's Ultra R4 Collagen Surge Plumping Gel my skin definitely feels tighter and looks brighter. I'd say it is definitely worth looking into if you're looking for something to lift your skin tone and condition. Those little fish eggs do a little bit of magic it seems

The packaging is attractive and stands out because of the red and silver colours used. There is a little silver spoon tucked into the box to remove the plumping beads so hands don't contaminate the contents.

The light pink beads are soft and melt into the skin without too much pressure needed. A little bit goes along way with this product, can feel greasy for a while so need about 20-30 minutes before you can put makeup on. I did notice that after about an hour my skin needed a bit more moisturizer so it's have to put my normal moisturizer on.

But this product definitely does what it says it does. My skin felt plumper and my fine lines seemed to reduced as well. My skin felt firmer after the first application and my skin was really smooth. This gave my makeup a really nice start, and helped it stay on longer.

I was super excited to try the Dr Lewinn's Collagen Surge Plumping gel. I loved the red and silver packaging and the claim that it instantly plumps and boosts. The inner packaging is sleek and the metal spoon (more on that later) gives the product an expensive feel. I'm in my late 30's so love the idea of a product that is the cosmetic alternative to dermal fillers.

This gel smells as I would expect a facial product that is more of a facial treatment rather than a natural or general moisturizer. It is a gel with little pearl-like balls which look amazing but I found could be a little messy and not designed for a quick application. The spoon was great for getting out the correct quantity of product but I was left wondering where to store it between applications. Other than being useful for getting the correct quantity of product I assume that it is good for hygiene reasons however when left in less than optimal conditions a clean finger would possibly be more hygienic. I left my spoon in the little plastic bag and used it about 50% of the time. This is a great gel to use if you want to have a pampering experience rather than a quick experience.

The first few times I applied the gel to my face I didn't rub it between my hands first which resulted in some of the pearls dropping or me having to really focus on what I was doing. I found that warming the gel between my hands first was the easiest way to apply the gel. My skin did feel plump and taunt and felt like it got a great much-needed boost of moisture. It sat well under my daily make-up however I did feel like I had more of a shine towards the end of the day than usual however this wasn't a major issue.

Long term I don't think I would rush out to buy this gel as there are other gels and creams better suited to me. In saying that, overall I did like this product and would recommend you try it if this is a product that you are interested in.

I was very excited to try the Plumping Gel - I have definite fine lines and have been looking for a good collagen product. The gel is located in a really lovely looking pottle and has a gorgeous floral aroma. Inside are hundreds of little pink balls combined together by a thick liquid/gel. The product is supplied with a small metal spatula that can be used to remove the product from the pottle. I did have difficulty squashing the balls. Initially I tried to place them straight on my face and neck and move them around, expecting them to melt. I ended up with balls on the counter and floor! I then tried squashing them with my fingertips before placing them on my fact, but that still wasn't sufficient to avoid wastage. After a few days I started squashing them between the palms of my hand before transferring them to my face and this worked really well. I do believe the product "plumps" and fills in fine lines. I was really pleased with the way my skin looked when using the product. It took me a day or two to get used to a slight "taut" feeling, but then I actually began to enjoy it! I began the trial by using the gel morning and night. Unfortunately, I found the product quite drying for my skin and decided to try using it during the day only, reverting to my regular moisturiser at night. This reduced the dryness of my skin and I completed the rest of the trial in this manner. My skin is still drier than usual, but not significantly. I plan to continue using this product (once a day) but am not yet sure whether I will purchase a replacement once it is all used.

Have really enjoyed trialling this product. It’s super hydrating, at night times I almost felt like I didn’t need my usual night cream and during the day it gave me a lovely glowy / dewy look. I‘ve not really looked good in to collagen/ anti wrinkle creams just yet but found this really lovely, it did leave me with a bit of a flushed face, which made me feel that it was quite an ‘active’ face cream so I’d definitely recommend tearing first. I did notice that the fine lines around my eyes definitely smoothed out more but I do have quite the frown line and at this stage haven’t noticed any difference in that but based on the packaging it looks like with continued use your lines appear even more faded. I’ll continue to use the product as it feels so luxurious and any skin smoothing is an added bonus!

I was very excited to try this "miracle" product by Dr Lewinn's, having never tried any of their products before. It is something I possibly wouldn't think of splashing out $84.99 on, so was grateful for the chance to be chosen for a trial. The packaging is simple and luxurious looking which I liked with a no frills, serious skincare appeal. The jar is also premium and at 30gm a pot is a decent size. Inside is a wee metal scoop which is really handy to get out the wee plumping pearls. It has a fresh sweet fragrance which was pleasant to use. Now for the tricky bit... It is not smooth like other moisturisers, rather little orbs of product sitting in a thin consistency gel. I used the scoop to get the product on to the back of my hand first. When applying, I found it difficult to smooth out the pearls without dropping some off before I could "mush" them in to my skin. However when I did get a bit of a handle on it, the product felt lovely and smooth. The result was a smooth texture that made my skin feel a little tightened and hydrated at the same time. Winning! The products main clams were to instantly plump skin, restore moisture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and I feel it did do that to some degree. I will continue using this to assess further as there's a good amount to still get through, so I also feel that it's quite economical. A little does go a long way! Overall, I liked the hydration and slight tightening effect but feel it's not as dramatic as stated. I would recommend to those with drier skin who want instant hydration.
