I don’t know why this is, but I am completely incompetent at working with powder. So a powder highlighter is impossible for me to work with, but this baby is so very easy.
It’s also a really good beginner highlighter, and because it is really cheap, you can get this to do a good practice with.
I have this in the white shade it comes in. It is a really small tube - which I wasn’t expecting. I thought it would be way bigger, but for $1 totally enough product.
I also love the little nozzle it has, it’s really small which is perfect as the perfect amount of product comes out. No need to worry about wasting it. It’s also perfect for coming out in little tiny circles so you can dot it in the areas that it needs to go.
It’s a really thick and sticky product which I don’t like. I have to wash my hands after I put it on. It’s also really difficult to blend, and you will need to use your fingers for this because using a brush will only just remove all the product off your face and onto the brush. Using your fingers will help warm the product up. But it is really thick, and difficult to work with. I find that I have to give quite a bit of a drag across my face to get it to spread, which also unfortunately makes it difficult to make sure it doesn’t spread to places you don’t want it to go. It will take practice but once you perfect it, it’s really nice.
While it is sticky on the fingers, it’s not sticky on the face when it dries which is good. But it is really shimmery as well. Even once it’s dried and you touch your face, shimmer and colour will transfer onto your face.
I always get heaps of compliments when I wear it. But I do recommend that if you are wearing the white shade, that you contour with it. It can make your face look wider and larger if you don’t because it is so pale.
I also notice that for it to look best, I have to wear it over bb cream or foundation. It makes my skin look really bad if I wear it on it’s on, making all these little red bumps come up.
I’m making it sound like it’s a horrible product, but I truly love it, despite all those things, and I will purchase it over and over again. I’m also keen on experimenting with the different shades it comes in. So lovely.
I picked one up randomly from Kmart, I bought Lilac Petal and really didn't know what to do with it at first! Then, as my make up skills developed I found it to be an amazing highlight.. it does have quite a thick consistency, and is difficult to blend out but it once you get the hang of it, for $3, it's an amazing product! I've got the rest of the colours on its way from iHerb, can't wait to try them all!
Tips: Take a small amount of product on your ring finger, and dot it on your cheekbones, brow bone bridge of your nose and cupids bow, and start warming the product up by blending with the same finger :)
