I've always been a fan of a cream blush, compared to its powdery colleague it felt easier to apply, like there was less chance of getting it wrong. I use both, but I prefer the cream - and e.l.f HD Blush has to be one of the best I've tried. Considering the price the packaging is nothing to be sneezed at, it's quite stylish and doesn't look out of place amongst my higher end brands. Well, apart from the fact what it contains is bright pink! Speaking of which - what's it actually like? First of all, you want to be careful when you pump it out. I found it was hard to pump, as in, if you push down too hard a lot more than you need comes out, but if you don't push down hard then enough nothing comes out. But what does (eventually) come out is pretty amazing! My first try I ended up looking like a clown, it's THAT pigmented. But after giving it another go with a more softly-softly approach I was able to build up the colour to achieve that gorgeous 'just went for a run in winter' look, without having to go for a run. Bonus!! The cream felt quite soft, almost powdery, on application and it had really good staying power. Will I be buying again? Heck yes! Although you need so little product to achieve a blushing beauty result it might be 10 years before I need to pick up a new one!

Tips: Softly-softly! A little really does go a long way.
Cream blush is something which has always intimidated me, my inexperience with it had me wondering how you apply it, at what stage of makeup and how much to apply without looking like I had poured on face paint.
I picked this up during a recent eyeslipsface sale in the colour 'Headliner'. The packaging is simplistic but practical, like most of e.l.f's packaging, a clear plastic bottle with a pump top.
The formula is lovely and creamy and sooo super pigmented! My first attempt at cream blush application I looked like a child playing dress-up. Now, I know to apply this after my foundation using only the tiniest amount. I pump verrrryyy gently as I only want a small drop, and apply it to my cheeks either using my finger to dab and blend the colour or a stippling blush to blend it into my skin.
I love the matte finish of this blush, it gives a really beautiful flush of colour which lasts all day. This has won me over to the beauty of cream blush and I highly recommend this.
Tips: If you do find you've applied a tad too much blush, you can use the same brush you used to apply your foundation to help blend it in better.
I found that using a cream blush made the results more long-lasting and because this blush is so pigmented, you only need the tiniest amount so even though it's a small tube, it will last a long time. Because it's a cream it may take a few tries to not go too overboard with the blush, so it's best to try it out before putting on a full face of makeup.
Tips: Use the e.l.f. stipple brush to blend the blush in
I recently did a big haul of e.l.f products off of iherb, I saw this blush for about $3 and thought I would give it a try. This had been one of the first times I saw blush in a bottle so it had me Wowed.
I bought the blush in the colour Headliner as it was the only one in stock, I was a bit hesitant to purchase it though as I wasn't sure whether the colour would suit me or not. But I had also heard great things about this blush from beauty gurus so I thought it would be worth trying and for only $3 it wouldn't hurt!
The day my package arrived in the mail I was so excited to play with all of my new make-up. The blush, which I had opened first, was very very pigmented and it took me a while to figure out that you need only the tiniest bit so you would look normal opposed to a five year old who got into her mothers make-up stash. The colour is very subtle if blended in well and is great for everyday wear. The consistency is lovely and creamy. At first glance the colour of this blush is a soft baby pink, but when blended in you will find that it had a mauve undertone to it. The size of this blush is perfect for travel and you can be sure that it wont spill through your bag as the lid is very tight!
Tips: Make sure you set it with translucent powder for a longer wear.
The ELF HD blush comes in a small bottle with a pump. It is completely see through so you can see the colour of the blush, as well as how much you have left.
I have the colour 'Superstar', which is a peachy pink. Superstar is a gorgeous colour and looks really natural when applied lightly.
This blush should have come with a warning; that it is out of this world pigmented. When I first applied it I looked like a clown! You need only the teeniest amount (a dot about the size of a cigarette filter), to get amazing coverage. Because this is a liquid, you need to work somewhat quickly to blend it in before it sets.
Unfortunately the pump on this isn't very accurate and it dispenses far too much product, so you end up wasting a bit. Even with a really light squeeze, I found that too much was still coming out.
However, this blush is going to last you a long time as you really only need the smallest amount. When blended, it looks really natural and it literally stays on all day. This won't budge until you take it off at the end of the day.
There are no shimmers or glittery particles in this and it dries matte. I often like to put a teeny bit of highlighter over it just to make it appear a little dewy, but this is ideal for oily skin types who want to avoid looking dewy. This also doesn't dry out your skin.
Overall I really like this, even if it is a little difficult to use. I wouldn't recommend it to beginners in makeup as you do need to work quickly with it and it is easy to apply far too much.
Tips: Be very, very careful when applying this.
Start with a ridiculously small amount and then build it up if you want more colour.
I bought this as I was trying to step away from powder blushes and try more cream/mousse textures. This is one of the first ones I tried.
At first I found it really hard to get out of the bottle, but once it did come out, the texture wasn't runny, nor was it thick. It was a happy medium.
I applied on one side with a stippling brush, and the other with my finger just to see how easy it is to blend.
When applied with a stippling brush, the finish was really, really natural and complimented my skin tone perfectly. I used shade 'Headliner'.
The side I applied with my fingers was nice too, I just found it didn't quite have the natural finish as you would have with a brush.
I didn't need to use much, these are seriously pigmented products and a little goes a long, long way.
Tips: If the colour is too intense for you, before applying, try mixing it with a moisturizer or a highlighter.
These blushes really pack a punch. They are super pigmented and crazy gorgeous but work with a light hand because it is highly likely you will come out looking like a clown. The formula is really nice, it's quite liquidy and thin which I like because it doesn't feel heavy or greasy on my oily skin. You must shake this before use because the pigments separate in the bottle, also when using for the first time or is it's been sitting for a while the first pump will likely be a watery thin oil type substance hence the need for shaking. These are a real bargain for the price - $3USD (or $1.50 if you catch an infamous ELF 50% off sale) there is a TON of product in these bottles, I highly doubt anyone would ever run out as you only need a tiny amount for each application.
Tips: I find that dispersing the product onto the back of my hand first and swirling a stippling brush in it helps to warm the product and also most of it melts into the skin so you're not getting any excess product on the brush. A duo fibre brush works best with this blush as it's not so densely packed, it distributes the product lightly and evenly.
So I haven't really been fond of Cream Blushes, basically because I barely know how to use them. I have to say though this is brilliant, I have the cream blush in Headliner and no one is kidding when they say it's super pigmented, a little goes a long way with this bad boy.
Super value for money considering how little you need to use!
Tips: If you've never used Cream Blush before, try a few different application techniques on a stay-at-home day, it can take a few attempts before you stop looking like a clown.
I got this on sale at kmart, and i did not have experience with cream blushes..wow this product is very very pigmented. I swatched it on my arm and it took aggges to get it off, and my arm looked red/pink for days. you di not need alot to get a nice finish.
Crazy pigmented and such a lovely pink colour (i have the headliner shade) and i will definitely be repurchasing again. Really high quality and said to be a dupe for the Makeup Forever HD blushes. Overall extremely worth the price, super affordable and a little goes a really long way.
Tips: apply a very small half pump to you fingers and dab the product onto cheeks then use a stippling brush to blend it through, creates a natural pinky flush to the cheeks.
