This was my first setting spray I tried and I thought that it was a nice soothing spray and made my makeup less matte. The holding power for this I found that it didn't really help much at all. The mist came out nice and it did feel very refreshing. I wouldn't buy this again as I thought it didn't hold my makeup at all.

This product is so average. It literally just feels like water in a bottle it doesn't set makeup or allow it to last any longer. I would use this as a face prepping spray (not primer spray) or to spray on a beauty blender to dampen it
Tips: dont spray too close to the face
First ever makeup mist I have tried.
When I first got this, the packaging was very sticky and wet.. I didn't open this till about 2 weeks after when it all dried up. Not a good first impression.
The first time I used it, it felt very nice and it did help my makeup last the whole day. It was also very refreshing. Once the mist was dry it helped my makeup not rub onto my clothes, etc, which was brilliant because this was a big problem for me. I got this for cheap on iHerb, which is always a plus.
On the down side, it made me break out a little..
Tips: If you are using falsies, spray before applying them. Also spray far from your face.
The first time I used this I thought that it did a great job but the more I used it the more my opinion changed. The smell of the mist is not very nice which has kind of put me off using it as I don't want to being spraying smelly water onto my face. I would class this more as a refresher spray than a setting spray, its nice to spray on a hot day to keep yourself feeling fresh if you don't mind the odd smell. I don't believe that it set my make up any longer than if you did not use it. I have had no problems with my spray bottle.
Tips: Spray the mist on before putting mascara
For the last few years I have been using the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, which I love, except it's not cheap so I went hunting for a cheap alternative. I saw that the Elf one had some good reviews (and some bad) but thought I would give it a go.
Maybe it's not fair to compare it to All nighter, but I was just pretty disappointed with this product. It's quite a small bottle so doesn't last all that long. It also seems to spray out quite big drops so your face can actually feel quite wet afterwards, and takes a while to dry. The packaging looks and feels cheap. I also don't really feel like it makes my makeup last too much longer than usual.
If you're looking for a cheap setting spray, give it a go. But if you're after something to make your make up last all day and night then you should probably look elsewhere.
Tips: Apply mascara after setting spray.
This product is designed to set your makeup so it stays on your face longer. I'm not sure if this really makes any difference, not a major one anyway. It is super refreshing when you put in on, but don't spray it too close to your face because it has quite a powerful spray to it. The biggest mistake I made with this was putting in on after my mascara was applied, my mascara ended up on my checks and the spray kind of set it on and I had to take a layer of foundation off to get the mascara off my cheeks (fail!). I don't really see the benefits of this product, my foundation stays on just as well without it.
Sometimes I think I expect too much out of cosmetics. I read the reviews and purchased this thinking I had found something to stop my makeup wearing off after 8 hours but I didn't.
I honestly think this product is not suited to those of us with slightly oily skin as I am having limited success - it seems to work on the colder days we are having now, but I purchased at the end of summer, hoping it would eliminate that shine you get at the end of the day and the patches that wear off around your chin and its just not happening. Come 2 O'Clock and my makeup just looks shiny.
Good points, its cheap as chips on iHerb and applies easily and doesn't smell bad at all. You can also see at a glance how much is left in the bottle.
Tips: I would consider using this if you don't have very oily skin, it's not a bad product, just not suited for my skin type. Also don't apply once you've put your mascara on as it will make it run!
I didn't really like this that much, it smells a bit funny and I didn't notice much of a difference in my makeup when I used it. The spay is good and it disperses product evenly. It is lightweight like it said but I don't think it did much. I use it to dampen my beauty blender before applying foundation to make it apply better and I really like it for that use
Tips: Use it to dampen makeup sponge before applying foundation
I have used this product for quite a while now as I am a girl on a budget, and was in need of a setting spray. I was recommended the Elf Mist and Set by a few friends, so I thought I would give it a go.
I was impressed with the fact that it did seem to work for a decent amount of time. I will use this spray when I am wearing a medium coverage foundation, and it most often keeps it looking good all day. However, if I do wear a full face of make up I find that it doesn't quite give the same length of staying power.
Some people find the scent very off-putting, but I personally don't mind the smell. I find the spray also very refreshing and very nice to spray on my face on a hot day.
I would recommend this product to anyone who is wearing a low-medium coverage of make up. Hopefully the smell doesn't put too many people off this product.
It is super affordable, and does the trick pretty well,
i didnt like this product as much as i enjoyed the other elf products i have tried. I prefer a matte finish to my makeup and this product gives it a dewy almost shiny finish. Just personal preference. it also has an odd smell, not plesent yet not unplesent
