e.l.f Makeup Mist and Set Review

When I first got it, it was wet and sticky and I hadn’t even opened it. I thought that it might have been because it was shipped out to me from Iherb, but a couple friends who had purchased this from kmart told me that there’s was also really wet.

It comes in a nicely sized spray bottle which is black, very sleek looking, making it appear expensive. Who doesn’t like that? It’s also a perfect size to carry around - as I like to do.

It’s also really watery when you spray it on your face. Probably because of the nozzle. A crap load of product came onto my face, making the face look really wet, so much that I could actually see droplets on my face, and I was worried about it actually smearing my makeup, or not drying and me having to wipe it off and do my makeup again because it wasn’t absorbing.

But within about 5 minutes, it completely dried on my face. It made my makeup last all day - which is brilliant. It also made my face feel really fresh.

Because I have really oily skin, I hate the feel of foundation on my skin, but this coated it, and made it feel like I wasn’t wearing any foundation at all.

It doesn’t really have a scent to it, but if you smell it up close it smells really bad though, but it fades really easily which is good.

I like to use it as a face freshener throughout the day, even when I’m not wearing makeup. I have to do a bit of walking to get to uni/work and I’m working up a sweat by then, and feel really gross. Just a couple sprays of this and I feel like I’ve washed my face! So good! Makes it perfect for summer!

First ever makeup mist I have tried.

When I first got this, the packaging was very sticky and wet.. I didn't open this till about 2 weeks after when it all dried up. Not a good first impression.

The first time I used it, it felt very nice and it did help my makeup last the whole day. It was also very refreshing. Once the mist was dry it helped my makeup not rub onto my clothes, etc, which was brilliant because this was a big problem for me. I got this for cheap on iHerb, which is always a plus.

On the down side, it made me break out a little..

I didn't really like this that much, it smells a bit funny and I didn't notice much of a difference in my makeup when I used it. The spay is good and it disperses product evenly. It is lightweight like it said but I don't think it did much. I use it to dampen my beauty blender before applying foundation to make it apply better and I really like it for that use

I don't mind the aweful smell at all, this has helped my foundation stay fresh and long lasting! Very affordable too!

My first impression of this product wasn't so great. When it arrived it was wet - but the bottle wasn't broken! I don't personally find this helps my makeup last any longer but I do like to apply this before putting on my foundation to moisturise and freshen up my face. I also find that the nozzle is quite stiff and that a lot of 'mist' comes out of one spray so I always apply the mist from a distance so that my face isn't drenched!

I was so excited to try this because everyone recommended this to me as my make-up is forever transferring onto my clothes and others!

When I first sprayed it I was like, "WOW that's a powerful spray" my face was literally wet. I don't know if make-up setting sprays are meant to be like that but I actually think it's a good thing because I know I got some on my face not just in the air!

Even though it made my face look and feel so wet my make-up didn't smudge or sorta disappear.

From using I don't notice any difference to be honest. My make-up doesn't last any longer and still transfers like crazy!!!

The packaging is great,it's really easy to use and store. And you can clearly see how much you have left which of course is handy.

It is super affordable but I still most likely won't ever repurchase again, however it does feel refreshing on a warm day.

I love elf products, but this is the first product I haven't been a fan of. It is very refreshing but it doesnt give a dewy or matte finish and it doesnt make your makeup last any longer. For a beginner, it may be quite nice but it didnt do anything for me.

Personally I love Elf products however this setting spray was a bit of a let down. The spray had no smell and once applied my face was soooo WET! and to be honest I didn't notice much difference in how long my makeup lasted. Probably wouldn't buy again but if you need a cheap setting spray you could buy this one.

Out of the many, many wonderful e.l.f products I have recently discovered this one has now been added to my 'fave's list'. As a person with dry flaky skin, along with another fantastic e.l.f product the mist has been such a blessing. Its soothing on my skin as well as helping prevent my make up shifting through out the day. I now keep a bottle in my make up case and in my hand bag in a zip lock bag - just in case! And its SO affordable so why not have more than one bottle? I also love the fact that it is practically odourless so its fantastic for sensitive skin such as mine. Its is available online on iherb.com for $3USD (about $3.85NZD) and also at Kmart for $10.

I can't go wrong with this setting spray. I realise how good this product is on the days that I don't use it, then my makeup wears out really fast and makes me look tired a lot quicker. This spray helps keep everything in place and is important for those long working days or summer when the heat can literally melt your makeup off.
