Eco Minerals Mineral Foundation Review

I have used mineral make up before with my preferred favorites established.

On first appearance I thought wow is this a sample size package? on comparison to other brands I have used the packaging looks petite. But you really don't need a lot of this product a small amount goes a long way.

A pleasant surprise was the eco brush provided for application it is soft..oh...so...soft, but maybe a bit too small to ensure even non patchy application.

My shade I picked via the eco minerals app is pretty spot on, when I looked at the colour in the container i thought it may have been too dark but on initial application is perfect. This product is a good by for those looking for a middle price range of mineral make up.

My only negative is I have combination skin of oily,dehydrated and by the end of the day the finish is alot darker than it starts .

I picked this shade using the Eco Minerals app. At first I was quite skeptical about it but when the product arrived I was surprised at how well it matched me. My shade was Light Tan - Flawless Foundation which has a matte finish and is perfect for someone like me who has oily skin. The app asks you about your skin type first and then your skin tone. With these two questions this app somehow manages to give a correct foundation shade.

This is a very natural foundation which gives a very light coverage which I use for an everyday wear or I will use it to set my Korean foundations, BB creams or cushions which are slightly too light for me.

I lent this to my mother since she has very sensitive skin and it didn't irritate her skin. She loved how it sat and looked as she prefers just a day to day wear that just helps her to look more alive. However because her skin is a lot light than mine I brought her another shade also using the app as her mother's day present.

Eco Minerals also has a very fluffy and soft brush which I use to apply this with.

I do love how Eco Minerals has refill sachets that are biodegradable which you can purchase to save the planet from more excess useless plastic. This idea should be used more in the beauty/skincare world.

I was really excited to get on this trial as I've been using Bare Minerals powder foundation for years but never been brave enough to try anything new.

The colour match I got was almost right - probably would be find for mid winter but with my late summer hint of a tan it's a little pale for me.

The brush I received for the trial was lovely and soft and no bristles coming out, but was a little small for applying to the face, I prefer a much bigger brush and I found this brush left the coverage a little patchy, I needed my larger brush to buff it out evenly. This brush would be great for bronzer or blush though.

I did love the way this foundation made my skin look, quite dewy and smooth, I did look quite radiant. However the coverage was too light for me and didn't last me a whole day - I needed to wear it over a liquid foundation to make the coverage enough for work. I will keep using it for weekend and probably in the summer when I don't need too much coverage.

Super happy to be invited to trial this product, I've never tried a mineral foundation before. When it first arrived i thought it looked like a cool container and the brush is super soft. I have the Flawless Foundation in Light Beige. When i first open the container it looks a little dark but i try a little bit on the back of my hand first and it feels soft like talcum powder so I'm pretty keen on trying it on my face. Day one i try it on top of my usual routine of a facial oil. Fail. its too oily and doesn't apply evenly i end up with a patchwork blanket face, so i clean it off and go about my usual routine. Day two I try my moisturiser and let that soak in and then apply the mineral foundation it takes a bit to get it even i end up using the brush that came with and my other wider Kabuki brush as well. It looks even and feels so light weight but not a huge amount of coverage for my skin at the moment as I've a few breakouts. Day Three i try the same as Day two but with my bb cream underneath and I'm as happy as a kid in a lollie shop. I used both brushes again and i feel like I'm getting the circling motion a bit easier and making the application a lot easier, i find just tapping a bit into the lid and then using the brush the best way. I find the staying power quite good i haven't had any really hot hot sweaty days yet so will be keen to see how it performs under that and also once my skin clears up a bit. I feel great using it and maybe it will help with the breakouts also? I will continue to use it as so far so good :) Thanks BR :)

I have been using nude beige flawless mineral foundation - matte.

The colour was slightly light for my complexion, but would be perfect mid winter - though I believe I still got away with the slightly light colouring....

I wore the foundation directly over my moisturiser, and loved the look, there was no patches and no need to rub away tide marks.

The feeling and look was very light and breezy.

I also liked the feel of the Eco mineral foundation brush.

I was so grateful to be selected to trial this product. I am yet to find my holy grail foundation but this product comes close.

It comes in a round pottle with a screw on lid. Inside is a plastic seal which turns to release small amounts of powder. It has no scent. I also received the Ecos Kabuki brush which was a awesome surprise thank you!

These products are eco friendly and natural which is lovely. I found their website easy to use and helpful with choosing the correct shade and finish for me.

I have the shade Beige in a matte finish.

I hadn't owned a minerals foundation before so looked up on YouTube to make sure that I would apply it correctly. It seemed so easy and it was.

I applied my moisturizer and face primer as normal, shake a small amount of powder into the lid, then swirled the Eco Minerals Kabuki brush to apply small amounts of powder onto my cheeks first. I have a lot of red pigmentation on my cheeks so wanted to concentrate on this area first to give more coverage. Then I applied more powder in circular motion all over my face. The kabuki brush was so soft to use and applied the product evenly but I just didn't end up with the coverage I was after. The finished look was natural and soft, but I decided to try something different the next day.

So the next day I applied some BB Cream over my cheeks, then applied the foundation like the previous day. Yes I had achieved the coverage I was after! I'm loving the soft natural finish of this powder. And remember that I have lots of red pigmentation on my cheeks to cover so you may not need BB Crean like I do :-)

I found this powder to have great staying power. Lasting majority of the day and I didn't do any touch ups either.

I also love that this product lasts for 24 months as I was worried about not being able to use it all up before expiry as you only need to use small amounts but I definitely will.

Eco Minerals also does a refill for this product which is fantastic! I'd highly recommend you try this Minerals foundation and I will be purchasing a refill when the time comes.

I wasn't sure what to expect from a mineral foundation or if it would work for me. I couldn't imagine a powder not looking powdery, especially when built up for better coverage. I was pleasantly surprised.

First, picking the foundation shade was made easy by the website which takes you through a series of questions and then recommends the correct one for you. I must admit I was unsure on a couple of the questions (my skin has moods!) and ended up with a shade that is slightly too pale for now but will probably suit just fine later in the winter. User error, not site error, I want to note.

I was surprised at how well the mineral foundation evened out my skin tone. Because the shade is a little pale for me I did not attempt to build it up for greater coverage, and so the coverage was more like a BB cream or tinted moisturiser, which is just what I wanted for everyday use.

I would put a little of the powdery foundation on my finger and swipe under my eyes and on spots for a little more coverage and it worked very well to camouflage trouble areas.

My face did not feel like I had foundation on, however to the touch I could feel that I did. It does not seem to transfer onto clothes, and stays well throughout the day. My skin has not had any sort of reaction to it and I am very happy to have tried it.

There is a very very slight shimmer to the powder - NOT disco-ball shimmer, but a very slight pearlescence which counteracts any powedery look and keeps your skin looking fresh and glowy.

The packaging is smart with a screw-on top and a clever dispenser inside that you can open or close. I feel like you get a lot of product for the price and that a little goes a long way, giving you value for money. I also received a brush with the foundation and liked it very much - very soft bristles and applied the mineral foundation well.

For reference, I have normal skin and am 40 years old.

I would recommend the Eco Minerals mineral foundation, it's definitely worth a try!

I was excited to be picked for this trial especially since you had to let the fate of an app decide your foundation tone... Risky business! You can either go online or download the app. I used the app. There are only 3 questions to answer and I did get stumped on the last one as I could have been a selection of the answers. Chances are I wouldn't have chosen this particular colour tone myself. My pick: Flawless Foundation in Sand. (matte finish)

Packaging : The circler container with a bronze lid and clear bottom was a lot smaller than I had expected. I'm use to using a different mineral powder which is three times the size. The product however looks to be quite compacted in there so should last a fair while I would guess.

Product & Texture: Mine says it has 6 ingredients which is pretty incredible, and all of them are 100% natural not to mention vegan and cruelty free - I love this!

The product itself is very fine powder and using the swivel inside the container you can determine how much you tap out (close lid and tap bottom to get powder out and use the lid as a dish) The colour to me looked really dark and almost grey, upon application I find its quite yellow for my skintone and I have to be careful how much I apply. This tone will be much more suited to me in Summer so I may have to pop it aside until then. I would compare coverage to that of a BB cream as it covers my imperfections and is super fast to apply, I just have to remember to not be too heavy handed.

Wear: I don't feel like I have any foundation on while wearing this and its great for those days you want a natural look while hiding blemishes and sun spots like I need to do. I've used this on top of my liquid foundation and it seems to stay pretty good. It doesn't rub off onto my scarves and jackets plus any loose powder that falls doesn't mark clothing (BIG TICK!)

Vegan Kabuki Brush: This brush is a lot different to what I had been using, it is firmer but I like that. The only downside as a 'team' with the mineral powder the brush is so much bigger than the container that this makes it a little tricky not to lose any powder when trying to apply product to the brush.

Overall: This mineral powder ticks all boxes and I'm impressed with the colour matching via the app, I would however like to now try the dewy one in comparison! I haven't given 5 stars as it could sit just a little better on my skin) and the container could be a little bigger for ease of use.

Would I purchase this again personally? Yes. Do I want to try all of the Eco Minerals range? Yes!

The fist thing I loved about this product was the process of picking a colour/finish that suits your skin colour and type.

I got Light Caramel Perfection foundation that caters for fair skin and combination skin. As this isn't a matte finish it doesn't dry my skin out like I was worried it would do. I think if you have rather oily skin the Flawless mineral foundation would best suit you. Although the perfection range does suit still most skin types.

The cute wee clear see through plastic container has a bronzey brown screw top lid with Eco Minerals printed ontop. Within a twist lid that you turn to the right to reveal a lid that you find on the top of a talcum powder. The best way to get the product out I find it tipping it upside down in the lid and tapping it with the bottom of the makeup brush leaving product in the lid to apply to your face.

The makeup brush, cute light caramel brown bristles.very soft and such an amazing tool when applying this foundation. Dab it into the product and lightly tap over your wrist to rid the excess product (this works for me) roll the brush around in circular motions on your face to apply the powder. It applies it flawlessly and perfectly. Even coverage and silky smooth on the face.

Mineral foundation? A makeup made from finely ground and refined natrual minerals sourced from Earth, how cool right?! This product is exactly that and only has 5 ingredients.

For me I have sensitive and combination skin mainly dry though and this did not dry my skin out at all. On application it did not go patchy over my dry patches on my face. I did not use a primer while using this product. It lasts almost a good 8 hour day. I found there was a little wear in the chin area where my spots had become visible where the foundation had worn off. It covers my skin amazingly though. I was a bit skeptical because I like medium to full coverage foundations. This was amazing! Fully covers my acne spots and redness in my cheeks!

I really love this product and now will definitely look at mineral foundations in the future when I need to buy more. I highly recommend this!

...and now I don't think I won't to go back!

I received Perfection - which is the dewy finish. It's funny, because I used the app and thought, dewy? No, I want matte. But in the interests of the trial, I went with what the app recommended. And I'm glad I did.

I thought powder would dry out my skin or give it that flat, cakey look and feel - but it didn't. On top of moisturiser this applies like a dream and it doesn't clump, or build up in to noticeable patches. I applied one 'layer' and quite liked the look, 2 layers gave me full coverage.

It doesn't move during the day, even when I used my Trilogy mist to freshen up after work.

And my skin didn't feel yucky after use, if that makes sense? A quick cleanse and I felt baby skinned, with no residue or any sign of clogged pores.

So I was lucky enough to end up on two foundation trial teams - I loved both, but I think I love this one more. Here's why.

5 ingredients. Make that 5 natural ingredients. I mean, how does it work, that 5 relatively simple ingredients can be powdered together to make a foundation that is amazing?!

Will definitely be buying the refill. (REFILLS!! This is as guilt free a product as it gets!)
