I was gifted this and I was first captivated by the packaging. It's a beautiful red door - classic Elizabeth Arden. The lid comes off easily and it sprays and distributes extremely well.
The scent itself is very musky - it's quite similar to YSL Black opium, but more musky and a little vanillary. It's much warmer and sultry, and definitely feels more mature and sophisticated. It's also less sweet than the YSL, but similar enough so if you like Black Opium, I would recommend you try a sniff.
I feel that the scent lasts for a long time and it is indeed an elegant fragrance, but not for all. It would be a great gift for mums, aunties and older women.
I got a 30ml giftset of this perfume from the beauty vault quite a while ago. I'm a bit of a perfume hoarder so I had put it away and kind of forgotten about it. I recently pulled it out of my collection and I've been wearing it almost everyday.
The packaging of this is very classic. I feel like pretty much everybody would recognise this as being a red door perfume. IT is literally a red door shape. I like it, it's different to my other perfume bottles, so I can easily spot it.
This is a sophisticated scent and seems more to me for older or just mature woman. I couldn't imagine a young girl would be attracted to this scent. It's quite warm and sultry smelling. I get some powder notes and a slight floral sweetness. The version I have is only an edt but I do find this lasts a good few hours that I can smell. I imagine the edp lasts even longer so you do get good wear time for your money.
I do like this and I'd possibly buy a bottle in the future. It's not a must have for me but I do think it's nice to have and to use to feel a bit more classy sometimes.
