i received this as a gift. It is quiet a heavy fragrance. I found it is a little too heavy even with a little spray and lingers way too much giving me a headache. It is a very common fragrance with everyone around pointing out what I was wearing. Not a very classy smell, a bit too common for me.
Tips: Use sparingly as it is heavily scented!
It seems a lot of us are familar with this perfume knowing 'mature woman' who has worn it a lot, and it is a very 'mature' fragrance.. It's not one that I would have ever considered purchasing, It's one that I was given.
Red Door is a musky floral fragrance. It's a medley of hearty florals, very heavy and not at all sweet. The red rose is prominent, however I can detect all of the notes listed. (See top of page.)
I see this perfume as an evening fragrance for a 'mature' woman.
I'm not a fan unfortunately, and being in my late 20's I feel that i'm too young for it, I can't see it suiting younger ladies.
This scent smells very mature and formal as such, I wouldn't describe it as flirty or seductive at all. I think this is the kind of scent I would imagine older women wear to work.
It's floral but not sweet slightly bitter.
However it is very long lasting and is s good quality perfume
Warm scent but just says my mum when I was 12. Even she at 50 says nana scent. Very strong. Very long lasting scent
Tips: Can be very overpowering so under scent yourself
Gorgeous fragrance. I was given as a gift. Love love love it but to be honest my mother in law wears it too . I feel its not suitable for my particular age range. I am a big fan of lily of the valley, jasmine etc.
Tips: If you love it wear it!
i cant say this is one of the best ive tried. I found the smell quite over powering and gave me a headache whenever i sprayed it. It has a much older scent, not a flowery, sweet youthful scent that I much prefer
Tips: i think it best suits a more mature, older woman
When I was growing up, Red Door was what everyone was wearing. So when hubby got me one I was looking forward to wearing it. Lets start with the packaging. I had the older version which was a clear bottle with a gold stripe around the red arched cap which looked like a door. I preper the packaging it comes in now as it looks so pretty-not that I would buy it.
I had the 100ml one. The scent smelled good in the bottle but when I put it on, it didnt smell as nice. I found the rose overpowered the other scents. On me it smelly like sweat and baby powder mixed together. Lol. I have a weird sense of smell. It was a sweet floral and subtle scent. However I would like to comment that I liked it when other people wore it. Goes to show that all perfumes smell differently on other people.
Ironically I have been given this same perfume from other people as gifts. About three more bottles. But all have been regifted to people who enjoy them. I would buy it as a gift for someone else but not for myself.
At first glance this bottle is elegant and attractive but not one that influenced my decision to purchase it. After smelling it at the beauty counter, i thought it was a very pleasant floral scent but not overpowering. After trialling it for a while, this is what i think. Its is a very pleasant scent, floral and fruity smell. I found it gave me a headache after a while and also that the smell reminded me alot of an older persons kind of perfume( In my opinion) I did not feel it met my standards for a good perfume for myself and so it did disappoint me in that it wasnt much to rave about to my friends. I do believe it will appeal to some but not all. I have since gifted it to my mum who is a great fan and loves it. It comes in 20ml,50ml and 100ml bottles. I purchased the 50ml bottle for myself.
Tips: This perfume lasts long, so a quick spritz is all that is needed.
I just don't like this fragrance! My nana has worn this for as long as I can remember and, as much as I love my nana, the scent really catches in the back of the throat. It's horrendously strong (and no, nana doesn't marinade in it...) and lingers for hours. If you're after a strong, bold, statement scent that demands people stop and see where it's coming from then OK, this product might be for you. If you're a little more reserved, stay away from the Red Door!
