When I out this on I literally transformed into an old lady. This scent is the definition of an older woman still trying to maintain youthfulness with the smells of 1960. I was given this scent by an Aunty...I give it points for being long wearing and clinging to literally everything. The packaging is nice and deceptive, just don’t spray it LOL! It is one of those perfumes that you can’t spray everywhere otherwise you will receive complaints about how your overpowering smell is clogging the airways. I love Eliza A. perfumes, but this one just gives me hay fever.

Tips: Stick it in your undie drawer with your granny panties.
I have heard great things, but honestly this sucked for me personally. I was soo excited to get it but the scent fades soooo quickly. It's also stronger then I expect but I guess some would like that.
Tips: If you like something especially strong for short periods of time, this may be good for you.
It’s like something I’d buy for my mum or nan I actually bought it for my mum because it’s her favourite but I personally wouldn’t wear it it just smells like too strong for me
Tips: Get the really small one if you want to buy it so you don’t waste much money if you don’t like it
My Dad got me a Red Door set a few years back for christmas and I did not like it at all. It just smelt way too old for me (I was about 23 at the time) and was too strong. Luckily my Mum was more than happy to take it off my hands as it is a long time favourite of hers.
Tips: Possibly not a good smell for younger women, but that might just be my personal opinion!
I used to wear this fragrance a long time ago and at first was in love with it. But then it became popular and I got started to feel sick wearing it. It also caused headaches.
Wild Violets/Lily of the Valley/Freesia are the top notes, Moroccan Orange Flower/Ylang/Red Rose/Jasmine are the middle notes and Oakmoss/Sandalwood/Honey are the base notes.
For me, this perfume has just too much going on and is overpowering. If you spray lightly it isn't so bad but if you accidentally spray too much........
Tips: It can become quite sickly, so apply sparingly.
Perfume is so hard to review because everyones tastes are different. I personally cant stand the smell of this perfume but i know alot of ladies who love it, I was given this as a gift, luckily my nan loves it so i gave it to her.
This is sort of a musky floral smell, not a sweet scent in my oppinion and has a slight..... powder smell.... like baby powder i guess. Its also a very strong perfume. I dont usually get headaches from strong perfume but this stuff gives me headaches! Definitely a night time perfume but i do know people who wear this during the day *Cough* my nan *cough*. Its also a very long lasting perfume. If this is your kind of scent then i will say that its good value for money, Cheap as chips for a 100ml bottle, lasts sooooo long, and its strong so you only need a small spritz.
Not my cup of tea but definitely a classic
I found that red door was very strong and overpowering when first put on. The scent was very flowery and I found it to be old or kind of musky smelling. However over time (a long time) as the perfume aired and started to wear off a bit, I found it to be more pleasant as the overpowering-ness of it had worn off, and the mid and base notes came through. I put this on at night and in the morning, the base notes smelt really nice, although it was very faint, as it had obviously worn off. However everyone's different in what scents they like and red door is a classic :)
Tips: Spray lightly!!!!!!
I love the new updated bottle Elizabeth Arden have given Red Door, but that's as far as it goes for me. I found the fragrance powdery and sweet to begin with then bold and over bearing, one spray goes along way so I commend them for a lasting perfume! I found it cloying and, over the course of the day, it made me feel quite unwell as it over powered my senses. Unfortunately Red Door does not get my vote :(
Tips: A little goes a loooooooooong way!
This perfume was long lasting and lasted all day. In the end I didn't like how strong it was and didn't wear it often because of it. It smells nice but just far too strong for me because it overpowers everything else when I was wearing it. I love the bottle it's so cute and it's easy to use.
Tips: Don't spray on too much it can be overpowering
When I was growing up, Red Door was what everyone was wearing. So when hubby got me one I was looking forward to wearing it. Lets start with the packaging. I had the older version which was a clear bottle with a gold stripe around the red arched cap which looked like a door. I preper the packaging it comes in now as it looks so pretty-not that I would buy it.
I had the 100ml one. The scent smelled good in the bottle but when I put it on, it didnt smell as nice. I found the rose overpowered the other scents. On me it smelly like sweat and baby powder mixed together. Lol. I have a weird sense of smell. It was a sweet floral and subtle scent. However I would like to comment that I liked it when other people wore it. Goes to show that all perfumes smell differently on other people.
Ironically I have been given this same perfume from other people as gifts. About three more bottles. But all have been regifted to people who enjoy them. I would buy it as a gift for someone else but not for myself.
