This conditioner really deserves full marks. My hair is fine and it did its job too well. It immediately softened and smoothed my hair imparting a lovely shine but on my fine hair I found it flattened it. This is not the brands fault as any conditioner has that effect on me and instead of putting it on the tips only I covered my whole head and luxuriated in it. Bad move. In future I would follow the manufacturer's instructions. I would heartily endorse it for the majority of hair types. I put it on immediately after the shampoo and you could feel the strands of hair smoothing out and untangling. Drying it was a breeze and instead of me looking like a wild child with sticky up hair I found to my delight it lay flat and smooth. The container has a lid that when you press on the indent it flips up and you can pour it out easily. The bottle itself isn't rigid so you can give it a gentle squeeze to speed things up. Again, the container is smart enough to display on your shelf beside the Shampoo bottle. They are both tall and slender which fits a lot better and takes up less room than a squat fat bottle would.

Tips: If you have fine hair I would only do the tips as covering the whole head made my hair flatten out. It looks good but being short a little height suits me better. I think the creamy, pale lilac product seduces you into wanting to lavish it on your hair but use sparingly for a better result.
This conditioner smells DIVINE and also leaves me hair super soft and manageable - which is a must for a blonde conditioner. The only thing is it doesn't tone my hair as much as a salon purple conditioner..
Tips: A little goes a long way!
I wasn’t as much of a fan with this as I was with the shampoo. I felt this let me down a little with it’s barely there purple tone and wasn’t very nourishing on my hair. Also I would love to have seen this with a pump like the shampoo. It does have a pleasant fragrance and again a decent sized bottle that would last well for those with shorter hair. I feel that this would be probably well suited for people who don’t need super hydration or those who tend to go a little on the oiler side as it is very light weight . It wouldn’t be my first choice for conditioner for my long thick hair, but it wasn’t awful just didn’t provide the Hydration my hair craves.
I’ve had highlighted hair for many years so I am a frequent user of purple tone-correcting products. I recently went to a lighter shade of blonde so I was very excited to trail this new product! The plus points for me is that this conditioner is cruelty free, plant based, 100% free from parabens and sulphates and the bottle is made from 100% recycled materials, making it a very eco-friendly product. The bottle size is a generous 300ml and has a pop-open top so it is easy to use and dispense the product. This conditioner is recommended for use on coloured, dry, dull, damaged, frizzy, flat, oily and normal hair so it covers pretty much all hair types. My hair is particularly dry and frizzy due to the highlights so im always looking for conditioners that really soften, nourish and moisturize my hair. The product label doesn’t mention how often to use the product so I used it twice a week as per how often I use my other purple shampoos and conditioners. The product has a faint aroma, a bit like a plant/flowery smell. Not a very strong smell but certainly not unpleasant. The product is a pale purple colour and has a creamy, almost fluffy consistency. I used a normal amount, applied into my palm and applied it to my wet, shoulder length hair. It covered my hair well and became nice and creamy as I massaged it in, giving a good coverage. As per the instructions I left it to work for 1-2 minutes. Once washed off, my hair felt well moisturized and smelt nice. Once I dried my hair, it felt nice and soft and I do think there was an improvement in the tone correction with less brassiness. I used this conditioner after using the same branded purple shampoo so it’s difficult to tell which of the two products did most of the colour correcting. Im sure they work well together in complementing each other’s performance. Comparing it to my other purple conditioners it does seem to work better than most and it left my hair feeling lovely and soft which is a big bonus. Overall, I would use this product again, it’s important to me that products are cruelty free and eco-friendly and I was happy with its results.
Tips: Use with a tone-correcting purple shampoo for maximum results
I really wish my hair had loved this conditioner as much as I love Essano products! Yes the conditioner made my hair feel less dry and matted when applied following a purple shampoo but unfortunately once rinsed out my hair was left feeling dry and matted and even my wet brush, which usually glides through wet hair, struggled and I found my hair breaking off and frizzing which does not happen with my usual conditioner. My hair was definitely not left feeling smooth or softer and did not look vibrant or shiny. It looked far far from vibrant and shiny and one might say it looked dryer, duller and far less healthy than when I started using this product. I have since had to have my hair coloured chocolate brown as my combination of white blonde and clean blonde ended up a mix of brassy blonde and lilac/ash blonde and looked so dried that this was my only option.
On a happy note I loved the packaging! There was no mistaking this was a purple conditioner. The label was a gorgeous shade of purple on a black bottle and looked very attractive to me. It had a pop up lid which was easy to use but depending where the bottle was kept in the shower it would end up with water in the bottle and when you popped the lid and tipped it to squeeze water would come out prior and with the product. It would have been great for them to have the same pump action as the shampoo as this was the best and most effective pump I have used. The scent was light and really quite nice! The colour of the conditioner was a pretty pastel purple and the texture nice and creamy.
Tips: Use a leave in treatment after rinsing the conditioner.
I was selected to trial and review the shampoo as well as the conditioner in this range as part of the trial team. This conditioner is perfect to use with the shampoo because they both work well together and deliver results to your hair.
The Essano conditioner has the same plant based ingredients but instead of a pump bottle the bottle has a push down lid which is so easy to use and there is virtually no mess at all.The consistency is quite thick and has a very Mauve tinge to it,you can also smell that violet scent which doesn't appear to be as strong smelling as the shampoo. After shampooing my hair I applied a decent amount of the conditioner, about half a hand full through the mid length and ends of my hair.I left it on for a good 5 minutes even though 1-2 minutes is all that is required.I didn't notice much of the violet smell lingering in my hair after rinsing and letting my hair dry naturally but I believe this works well with the shampoo and does deliver results to keep your hair brass free, soft, smooth, frizz free and in a healthy condition. I think the range is quite affordable and accessible in most places such as The Wharehouse,Countdown,New World and Health Post including online. You don't need to use a lot of the product so it would be economical to use too. I definitely recommend this conditioner along with the shampoo in this range, you will be pleased with the results as I have.I am hoping to upload some before and after photos so you can see the difference.
I've been exploring the world of purple haircare lately, as I transition my hair from brown permanent dye to natural silver. Most purple shampoos and conditioners are salon brands, so it's great to see a budget option. This conditioner is lovely to use, it has a pleasant mild smell and is a light purple colour. It applies well and rinses out easily. My hair is fine, so I look for lighter weight conditioners which will moisturise but not weight it down. This conditioner fits the bill nicely. Used with the matching shampoo it cools down the warm tones in my combo bleached and natural grey hair. The packaging is nice and looks like a more expensive product.
Tips: Apply and leave on for 3-5 minutes for the toning effect to work.
I didn't find the scent of the Conditioner pleasant, but I suspect thats due to all of its natural ingredients. I absolutely love that it does what it says....my hair was toned a beautiful ashy blonde and once naturally dried, it was smooth and shiny! I also left it in for slightly longer than it says and its definately not as potent as the Fudge Purple Conditioner so didn't stain my hair at all. The packaging is brilliant (recyclable, 100% pre-used) and the pump makes it so much easier to disperse the product so you don't accidently use too much! Plus its sulphate-free! How good!
Tips: Only use on the mid length - ends of hair! Use in conjunction with the Shampoo!
I've been using this conditioner and accompanying shampoo for two weeks now. My hair is naturally medium brown, but I've lifted it 4 levels lighter.
I like my purple toning products to be deeply pigmented. We're talking violet. Unfortunately the Essano Blonde conditioner is merely lilac, meaning that it didn't really give enough colour pay-off to make a noticeable difference in my blonde tones.
In terms of nourishing my hair, it did an average job. I could still comb my hair easily after the shower, but it wasn't any better than other conditioners from the supermarket.
Finally, the smell. I love a yummy scent that gives me a real 'experience' in the shower. I could probably handle no fragrance at all, but a bad scent is just not cool. Sadly, I found the smell of the Essano conditioner really gross! I can't quite describe what it smells like, but based on the smell I won't be repurchasing.
I have naturally dark brunette hair and i have balayage blonde, so my ends are very light blonde. When freshly done my ends are very cool toned, but like a lot of faux blondes, they often go brassy, so I am always on the look out for the perfect toner.
One thing I noticed the bottle it doesn't tell you how often you can use the conditioner - usually with toners they specify if they can be used every wash, or weekly etc because of how harsh the ingredients may be on your hair. However Essano are known for using natural ingredients. The purple shampoo is plant based, 100% free from parabens, PEGs and sulphates. Even the bottle is made from 100% recycled material.
I have also used the shampoo in this set which is a very effective toner. I'm not sure how much toning the conditioner does on it's own, it has a purple colour to the product itself, but it doesn't leave any colour on my skin after I apply (which the shampoo does). However, after using both products there is definitely less brassiness and left me with very clean and cool toned hair.
I gave 4 out of 5 for 'would you use it again' and the only reason I marked this down is because of my personal hair type. I usually wash my hair twice a week. The shampoo says it can help coloured, dry, dull, damaged, frizzy, flat, oily and normal hair. However I have found that my hair gets quite oily after a couple of days, meaning I have to wash 3 times a week to avoid looking greasy. The conditioner says it used violet leaf extract to 'smooth and soften dry, damaged hair' so I wonder if this is too intense for my hair which doesn't get dry.
Tips: Use in conjunction with the shampoo to really rid your hair of brassiness!
