I really enjoy this purple shampoo, I keep buying it because it isn’t as strong as salon formulas and I find it doesn’t stain with long term use. I prefer my blonde to be creamy and using this every second wash is doing exactly what I want. Keeping it bright without that purple tinge hangover.

Tips: If you like a really icy blonde it probably isn’t the product for you.
I'll start with the negative's first and end with the positives. I didn't find the scent of the Shampoo pleasant, but I suspect thats due to all of its natural ingredients. I also didn't like the fact that its a non-foam formula, it made me feel as though I needed to use quite a bit for it to actually cover my hair! Now on to the positives! I absolutely love that it does what it says....my hair was toned a beautiful ashy blonde and once naturally dried, it was smooth and shiny! I also left it in for slightly longer than it says and its definately not as potent as the Fudge Purple Shampoo so didn't stain my hair at all. The packaging is brilliant (recyclable, 100% pre-used) and the pump makes it so much easier to disperse the product so you don't accidently use too much! Plus its sulphate-free! How good!
Tips: Definately use in-between Fudge Shampoo and follow through with the Conditioner for best results!
I'm a diehard salon purple shampoo user as I like my blonde to stay clean, crisp and free from any hints of yellow. I use purple shampoo most days, so was excited to trial something a little more cost effective and accessible than my salon brands. This shampoo is a little runnier in consistency than I'm used to (so you need to be a bit careful you don't get it everywhere) but it has a good pigment and foams well for easy distribution through the hair. I found it gave my hands a purple tinge (easily washed off), which for me is always a good sign of its strength. Unlike other supermarket brands I've used, the shampoo didn't leave my fine hair dry, which is a huge plus. After combining with the Essano Condition and drying, my hair was easily styled - it curled and straightened as normal. The shampoo toned and corrected well. It definitely left my hair more ashy in colour with less yellow and brassy tones than pre application. This colour correction was visible both when wet and dry - I was pleasantly suprised! The smell was pleasant (unlike some other purple shampoos) and I really like the bottle, which has a lockable pump, great for traveling and avoiding messing spills in your toilet bag! While I'm not sure I'll completely replace my salon brand with this one, I'll definitely interchange them for a more cost effective solution.
Tips: If your hair is a little on the dirtier side, you'll need to use more of the shampoo so that it foams nicely.
Was so lucky to be involved in trialling the Essano Purple Shampoo and Conditioner Duo, having just finished up my NAK purple shampoo it couldn't have come at a more convenient time. I've never tried any Essano products before, so I was very excited to give this brand a go finally. Well I loved it, the shampoo smells amazing, and a little goes a long way - like the conditioner, so you get a very good amount for your money. It helps tone my hair and keep it from going too ginger or brassy toned, which my hair is very easily prone to doing. It didn't dry my hair out and felt nice and silky afterwards! Will be reusing again for sure.
Tips: use in conjunction with the conditioner for the best results.
Defiantly a yay from me. My only concern is my local supermarket doesn’t always have this available so I haven’t been able to regularly use it :(
Doesn’t dry my hair out like some do and it defiantly works to neutralise those brassy tones. Good smell and a little goes a long way!
Tips: Apply to dry hair for a more effective result
After having not much luck with purple shampoos affecting my scalp I thought I would give this one a whirl. I was excited to see it had no nasties in it. I was impressed by the scent, not too strong at all. It has brightened up my blonde foils, probably not as much as other products but at least it hasn't hurt my scalp. My hair still feels good after using it, not too dry at all. I would definitely recommend this product.
This is a good product available from the supermarket at a great price. This shampoo lathers up nicely and it performs well. I do alternate with a more expensive purple shampoo but it does work well and helps to make my more expensive shampoo last longer. Would recommend this shampoo.
Tips: If you have a lot of toning required massage into dry hair and leave for a few minutes before wetting your hair and washing.
Used this during lock down for the first time when options were limited. Honestly, for a supermarket option it was not bad. Of course there are a lot better options out there on the market and most do have a higher price tag. But for someone on a budget or on a holiday and forgot their purple shampoo this is a great option to get by
This is another good product from Essano.
I have white hair that is prone to yellowing and have tried most purple shampoos on the market.
This one comes in a cute dark pump bottle with a pump top. the pump top doesn't work on mine which is annoying.
The product is literally purple shampoo. It lathers up well on my hair and my hair feels clean and soft afterwards.
The smell is lovely, kind of salon-y but fresh and sweet.
So the product is great, it neutralizes yellowing, and softens my hair, which is what I want. It's probably on a par with all of the other purple shampoos I've tried, but smells better than any other, and is well priced. Definitely worth buying for white hair. My clients at work also use it and it dulls the white in their dark hair. I do recommend it.
Tips: Use every 3 to 4 days with the matching conditioner.
Was concerned about my brassy tones as l do spend quite a lot of time outside , on the farm, I have used this and found it just as good as an expensive one that was three times the price , so good value for money really. I used it once a week , as l know purple shampoos can dry your hair, it is good to use a once a week mask for your hair and their conditioner as well this helps maintain nice shiny locks !
