First and foremost a huge thank you to the BR team for giving me the opportunity to be on this trial I have been using quite a few Essano products lately so this trial was very relevant to me. Ok let's get down to business, the packaging is very feminine and pretty with it's signature pink colour and gold writing which gives the impression you are receiving a quality premium product without the hefty price tag that often comes with high end skincare.I love that there is no plastic wrapping in sight and the box is completely recyclable it was also lovely to see a wee message on top of the box "it's time for you" this made me feel more important and that Essano cares about their customers. The product itself is contained in a glass amber coloured jar to protect the contents from light and has a plastic screw top lid which is easy to take off and pop back on, everything from ingredients, sustainability to how to apply the product is in a decent size print and easy to read. On opening the jar I received a strong whiff of a botanical earthy scent which didn't really appeal to me because I prefer a more floral smell with jasmine notes but that's just my own personal choice. The consistency was very light and thin and did feel lovely smoothing into my skin each night,a little went a long way to make a difference to the feel and look of my skin,by morning my skin felt softer and looked more dewy and plumped. There was no allergic reaction when using this product on my sensitive skin although I did patch test for 24 hours or so just to be on the safe side.In terms of seeing reduced fine lines and wrinkles I did not notice too much of a difference but it is early days so I think with continued use my skin will keep improving but what I did notice was how hydrated my skin was compared to before I used this creme because my dry scaly patches that I get on my forehead and chin/cheek area were virtually gone! that alone is enough to keep me using this product. I would definitely recommend this lovely night creme it's affordable and comes from a sustainable reputable company that offers fantastic products that work without blowing your budget.I'm excited to see what else Essano brings out next.
Tips: Patch test first for 24 hours or longer on the inside of your arm
I really enjoyed this product. I have quite dry and semi sensitive skin. I HAVE to moisturise twice daily and I need something really moisturising after I wash my face to rehydrate my skin. The collagen boost night cream comes in a glass container and packaged in a box. When you open the box there’s a little flap that has “it’s time for you” written on it. Yes it is! It’s so nice to be reminded your taking a little time out to do something for yourself and that is what skincare is for me. It has a seal under the lid which I like because it means no one has tampered with it. The box has plenty of info on it, including what it doesn’t have in it (all the additives), that it’s cruelty free and made in New Zealand and even a step by step night routine on the back for those who may not be aware of what you should be doing to take care of your skin and get the best benefits out of your skincare products. My first impressions were that there was a light fragrance but wasn’t overpowering and I could smell that it had oil in it (if that makes sense). It felt rich and heavy without being too thick to apply. Being a night cream I obviously use at night after washing my face and replaced my usual night moisturiser with it. On the skin it felt moisturising and slightly occlusive which I enjoyed because as I am prone to dryness, having a moisturiser with a the ability to act as a barrier and lock in its moisture is great for my skin type. If you are prone to oily skin or pimples perhaps look at a review with that skin type to see how it works for them. I really enjoyed using this at night time and when I woke up in the morning my skin still felt moisturised. Over the 2 weeks I tried this product it did feel noticeably softer and almost calmer as I get a bit of redness. I expect to see even more improvements as I continue to use it. No noticeable improvements in my wrinkles but I wouldn’t expect a lot 2 weeks in. It’s also a product that I would definitely consider to use during the day in the winter months when my skin is dryer. It didn’t feel too heavy which I find a lot of night creams do. All in all I found this a great product that I look forward to purchasing again and even trying more from the same line. It seems to be working, it’s cruelty free and made in NZ and doesn’t have extra nasties in it and it’s reasonably priced. Definitely worth giving it a try.
Tips: On hot nights store in the fridge for a more redressing experience. Pair with other products in this line to get better results (routine on the back of box) Use as a day cream for extremely dry skin. (Don’t forget an spf over the top though. Always wear sunscreen!! Prevention of skincare damage is the key to great skin and it’s never too late to start. Skincare products have an expiry time once opened usually 6 to 12 months it’s written on the jar normally. Once you open it write the date on the bottom of the jar so you know when to replace if you don’t use it all in time.
This is a really great affordable product, it definitely made a positive difference to my skin and how it felt and looked. I don't like the smell of it much but it works well so I am still using it.
I have quite dry skin these days which tends to flake and peel (something I am struggling to find products for given I had oily skin for years!). As a result, I am always looking for very hydrating skin care, and this delivers! The packaging is quite luxurious, the night creme comes in a brown glass pottle with gold writing, and a black lid. The glass packaging is a great idea as it makes the creme feel cool to the touch, so it's quite soothing to apply. There is a white lid that goes between the main lid and the opening of the glass bottle so that cream doesn't get all over the main lid, which is also a nice touch.
The creme is very rich and heavy in texture and cream-coloured. It has the typical essano rosehip fragrance - it is quite a strong fragrance so I would not recommend if you are sensitive to strong scents. I'm not a big fan of having face products be fragranced and the smell is a bit grandma like for me, I would rather there be no scent or it be more subtle. A little goes a long way, so I think this is quite good value, I virtually always end up using too much when I think I have grabbed a little, so use this sparingly! It is very rich so it is probably too oily for someone with oily or combination skin, but as a dry-skin sufferer this is perfect! This takes a while to absorb into the skin, so it really needs to be applied just before bed.
This night creme has worked wonders for me. My skin feels so hydrated in the morning when I wake up, and feels and looks much smoother. I am impressed at how effective this is for a product that can be picked up in the supermarket! I can't speak to whether this actually boosts my collagen or has any anti-ageing effect - I am in my twenties and I think this needs to be used long-term to be able to see if it has an impact in that respect. However, this is a super nourishing night cream, that has really been improving my skin and it is good value for money. I would happily use this again, and recommend this to anyone with dry skin.
Tips: Use sparingly - a small amount goes a very long way. Apply right before bed as this takes a while to soak into the skin.
I have received this cream for a trial, I must say am impressed with this night cream. I have always loved using cosmetic brands that are as natural as possible. And when I saw the first ingredient, which is water, I felt satisfied, in addition to the fact that the names of the other ingredients can be understood without much problem, which tells me that they are the most natural. This product has essential oils for our skin such as rosehip oil, sunflower seed oil, flaxseed oil and vitamin E, which are excellent emollients for our skin that hydrate and fortify. Its packaging is very fine and brings all the necessary information from its benefits, mode of application, skin type, ingredients, etc. The cream comes in a dark glass jar, it feels very solid, which also includes information about the cream. That seems great to me because that way I can correctly identify it when I take it out of its box. The texture of the cream is thick, its colour is off-white, its smell is peculiar to jojoba oil, or seeds. The cream is recommended for normal to dry skin. My skin is a combination type. But in my case, I feel free to apply it, because I have already used jojoba oil and never had any problem. I apply very little on the oily areas like my forehead and chin. And I apply to touches on the other parts of the face. My skin absorbs it super-fast. And I love that because it makes the application easier and does not take my time. Honestly, I don't have many wrinkles, but I have one between the eyebrows, which is where I have applied it with more patience with a slight massage. In the morning I have noticed that the wrinkle becomes less accentuated. And my face feels soft.
Tips: Apply the cream with your ring fingers given a gentle massage on the wrinkles.
Having such a wonderful creamy texture is just the start , l simple love the cream . It's so nourishing and l feel my skin is more hydrated and clearer in the morning. Love the natural plant peptides and Rosehip oil , ingredients.
Tips: I have also used this over my makeup during the day to trap in moisture to my skin
Anything that promises to promote or repair collagen immediately gets my attention! So I was excited to get this cream in a recent Best Beauty Box Ever. I love the packaging, very sleek and elegant looking and I like the smell. The cream is very soft and feels lovely when I put it on my skin. The only downside is that I feel my skin is quite oily by the morning so I do think that overusing this product could cause breakouts. For that reason, I only use it once or twice a week (recommended is three) and make sure I wash my face early the next morning. Overall, I'll probably use this again, it's a nice night cream - who knows if it actually repairs collagen, but one can only hope right!
I recently discovered that my skin is in urgent need of more care during the colder season, and that there are more little wrinkles popping up with age. I did not want to spend a huge amount for a night cream, so had a look at the supermarket, and bought essano Collagen Boost Certified Organic Night Crème on special. I have tried products from the essano brand before, and liked that they are using organic ingredients, and are not doing any testing on animals. Always great to support a NZ company aswell. I have been using the night creme for a couple of weeks now, and find it helping in making my face feel smoother during the day. Application is easy after cleansing, and creme goes into your skin easily. Nothing worse than a fatty film on top your skin when you go to bed that ends up all over your pillow! It has a pleasant, unintrusive smell, and packaging size (50g) seems to be sufficient for at least 4-6 weeks. I think I might need something that is even a bit richer, but for the meantime, this product will help in nourishing my skin at night.
Tips: The recommended regime on the back of the packaging suggests using a serum before applying the night creme, which might help achieve a better result.
Received in a beauty box and was able to use every night for about 2.5 months. It’s lightweight and you don’t need a lot for even face and neck coverage. I love any product from Essano, and especially if it’s got collagen in the title. I noticed after about a week of continuous use that my skin was brighter, firmer, and so moisturised. Applying my makeup became so breezy, as it no longer looked caked on or bunched into wrinkles around my eyes. At $20 a pot you’re going to want this to work, and it does, so I would definitely buy again.
