When I review I try to always keep an open mind but unfortunately I am one of these visual people so the packaging and presenation of a product is important to me and usually my first impression is the lasting one. In this case I was pretty underwhelmed, the packaging didn't appeal (I'm more classical and than whimsical) and when I tried the product on my hand, the texture and smell was also unappealing. I feel a bit Meh about this product I didn't think it was a great exfoliator and it left me skin feeling clean but not feeling fabulous - I think I prefer more intense exfoliators and my age maybe the issue so to be fair I gave it to my 18 year old neice to try and get her thoughts and sure enough her review was quite different - she loved the look of the product, thought the smell and texture was awesome and really felt like her skin had been exfoliated - she is a fan. So while this product was not to my 46 year old taste it did appeal to a market (18 years old) that i think is more motivated by price and pretty packaging.

I brought this at the same time as buying a large bottle of their Rosehip body lotion and a bottle of the Rosehip Oil and to be perfectly honest I don't really care for either of the first two products and I haven’t come to a conclusion about the third.
I have noticed that they seem to have a kind of artificial scent, not like you would expect from a natural organic product but maybe that’s just personal preference.
I also find it doesn't have enough of the exfoliating granules to do the job well although I must say the skin does feel soft after use. I just prefer exfoliators that are a bit more effective than this one in that respect but maybe I need to use more of the product than I have been.
I purchased it from the supermarket and was impressed with the price though. For an organic brand they are very competitively priced and easy to source as they are down at the local Countdown. I was tempted to buy the cleanser but went for a different brand instead.
Tips: I would try the little travel size kit first before buying the normal size of this just so you know whether you are comfortable with the scent and find it has enough granules to really clean the skin.
I wouldn't consider this product as enough to be a scrub personally. It's so gentle that I felt like it wasn't doing much to exfoliate my skin properly when I used this as my only exfoliating product.
It's so creamy that it feels like putting a moisturiser on but with tiny rosehip granules. I thought it would be great for my dry skin because of this but my nose can be very dry and it was still flaking after using. There aren't enough granules throughout the scrub to do a proper job so you end up basically rubbing in a cream cleanser in some areas. I also didn't want to press the granules in too hard because they felt like they could scratch my skin.
Overall, I would not reccomend this as a main exfoliator (unless they were looking for a very light one), but maybe as a top up exfoliator on days when you weren't using your main one. I use exfoliating pads about twice a week and an light exfoliating toner on most days too.
I was excited to try the Essano Facial Scrub Rosehip Exfoliator as Essano appears to be a conscious supermarket brand with a lot of good points to their products and packaging. I've tried and loved other beautiful smelling rosehip products in their range.
My intention was to use it three times a week in the shower as a cleanser substitute, however as a facial exfoliator this is just too gentle. When it comes to removing dead skin and impurities you want plenty of grit and this just seemed creamy and better marketed as a cleanser.
This product is nice enough but the "gentle exfoliation" is just a bit too gentle. It felt to me like more of a cream cleanser which is what I ended up using it for. It has a nice gentle scent and isn't harsh so would be ideal for those with sensitive skin
I was lucky to win this in a pack with some other products. I do really like Essano products so I was happy to get this. I've never heard of rosehip bio-exfoliants but I was hoping these tantalizing all natural rosehip bits were as gentle as jojoba beads which are my favorite natural manual exfoliant. The product comes in a big pink 100ml tube which is a really good size for the price. The exfoliant is a cream cleanser with a with a few sparse scrubby exfoliants. It smells like the signature earthy rose scent that I found the line to smell like. I do like that the ingredients in this scrub are organic. The ingredients are water, aloe vera juice, glyceryl stearate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, coco-caprylate, cetaryl alcohol and cetearyl glucoside, ceteraryl glucoside and sorbitan olivate, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, stearyl alcohol, rose hip extract, beeswax, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid, silica, xanthan gum, fragrance, rosehip fruit oil, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, potassium sorbate and lactic acid. 99% of the total ingredients are of natural origin and 11.7% of the total ingredients are from organic farming. It's even certified by Ecocert. When I used this I had no allergic reactions or stinging. The product was easy to get out of the tube which is great considering I did have packaging issues with two of their other products. They come in a tube though. However there is two big cons for me when it comes to this product. One is that the scrubby bits aren't concentrated enough in this scrub for me to get a nice even exfoliation when I use this. The other con is that the exfoliating bits are too rough. It feels like some parts of my face are getting scratched and others are just getting gently cleansed by a cream cleanser. I do think if the Rosehip bio-exfoliants or more likely it's silica, was replaced by jojoba beads and a lot more jojoba beads than current ratio of silica to cream cleanser, this would be a really nice gentle facial scrub. But because of that I won't purchase this and I'll probably give it away.
Tips: If you love natural products and scrubs and the rosehip bio-exfoliants are beckoning you, they aren't as gentle as jojoba beads. What's most likely the exfoliant in this scrub is silica. Also this scrub doesn't have enough of it to give a good even scrub, so if you like the exfoliants to be more concentrated in your scrub give this a pass.
I acquired this a while ago when New World had first stopped selling microbead products and were doing a promo where you could trade in any microbead product for one of these. I'm not a fan of manual exfoliators (I prefer acid toners for that) but I thought I would give it a go anyway. I only use this once a week or so the tube has lasted me ages.
What I like about this is that the scrub is in a very creamy base - very similar to Essano's creme cleanser which I love. The scrub particles aren't too scrubby and there's not too many of them so this does feel really gentle. It has a very soft fragrance.
I am unlikely to use this again, just because scrubs aren't my thing. But if you do like them. this a a lovely gentle one to go for.
I feel like its more of a cream cleanser with a few bits of scrubby bits, its like 70% cream and 30% scrub, ok if your wanting something gentle but I was after more of a scrub
I just didn't find this scrubs enough. Maybe too gentle for what I need. It's nice enough I just prefer something with a tad more grunt.
I have oily skin, and found that this Exfoliator literally felt like I was rubbing moisturiser into my face. Did not feel like it was cleaning at all, and the exfoliating granules definitely weren’t doing any exfoliating
