This night creme is very thick, feels sort of like wearing a mask. I don’t have overly dry skin so it’s perhaps just not for me. I do still have it next to my bed and I use it on days when my skin feels super dry but it’s not part of my routine

I bought this night cream in the sample pack (such an awesome way to try the products!) And had heard great things about the range. Unfortunately I found the cream was soaked up very quickly, leaving my skin still feeling dry. It also stung on application which is never nice. Normally fast soaking isnt too much of issue for day creams but for night creams I definitely want something longer lasting! My skin did feel softer in the morning though, even if not as much as other night creams I've tried. I'm also not a fan of the smell, it's not very strong though which makes it's withstandable. However the consistancy of the cream was excellent. Felt cool to touch and spread easily.
Overall I found the unwanted side effects over powered the small benefits I did see, so I don't see myself re purchasing this
Tips: Get the sample packet first to see if this is right for you.
I was really happy with my Essano gentle facial moisturiser so I wanted to love this product as well but it was just too much for me. I realise night creams are supposed to be thicker than usual but this just didn't soak in at all. I'd feel greasy before bed and look like a hot mess in the morning. Even after cleansing, my skin just didnt look right. Would 100% recommend the other facial moisturiser but this one was not that great on me.
I tried this as party of an Essano face care set. While it felt nice to apply it left my skin feeling too oily, and I didn't like the smell. I went on to purchase a new Glow Lab night cream instead, and in comparison the Essano creme felt watered down and thin, so keep the quality in mind. However everyone's skin's different so this may work for some people, just not me.
I used this as a deluxe sample, but never went on to purchase the full size due to it being too heavy for my skin, actually preferring the lighter regenerating moisturiser from Essano better as a night time cream.
My skin type: Combination (dry areas with an oily T-Zone)
Sample size: gave me continued use over a fortnight of nightly applications to verify a review and verdict on it's outcome.
Packaging (deluxe sample) just a simple rounded glass tub style in brown glass with essano logo and label of rose pink wrapped around it's body and a black plastic screw off lid.
Formula, this cream is very thick and heavy with natural oils and shea butter. The scent is beautiful and lovely to apply just before crawling into bed, however I found the cream to be too heavy and even when applied in the smallest quantities I was leaving a bit of an oily residue on my pillow which could only have been from the oil that had not settled into my face. Bearing in mind that I allow my creams to settle before I rest my head down as I read or catch up on social media sat up for about 20-30 minutes after application, this was shocking. My face come the morning was shiny and as I showered my skin felt slick as if I had a face wash on that needed to be washed off. Which resulted in giving my skin a quick face wash using an mild exfoliator to ensure that the cream that I had applied the night before wasn't clogging up my pores.
Breakout, on day 6 of using this nightly I found that I had 2 rather large spot breakout at the edge of my cheeks near my eyes which is normally where I am most dry, they were uncomfortable and even though I wasn't 100% sure of the cream being the culprit I did recall that at the time my skin felt heavy and unclean, which only brought me back to the moisturiser.
After the 12th night I had enough and detoxed my skin, and used light creams from then on to find that my skin bounced back and was behaving better within 48 hours or removing this cream from my regime.
Maybe good for some but wasn't for me.
A small 10g glass jar of Essano Rosehip Night Creme was included in the Essano Rosehip Treat Your Skin pack that I bought.
The little frosted glass jar has a black plastic screw top lid and the base of the jar is quite solid and sturdy. Rich in skin-renewing certified organic Rosehip Oil, with organic Aloe Vera, Jojoba and Shea Butter, this white coloured night cream has a smooth consistency with a subtle rose scent. The cream feels quite 'wet' when its initially applied to the skin but this allows you to give your face, neck and décolleté a light massage while the cream is being absorbed.
The jar does say that this night creme is suitable for all skin types but my oily skin did not like it at all! I found Essano Rosehip Night Creme to be far too rich and deeply moisturising for my skin type and I felt quite oily the next morning. After a few nights of use, it actually caused me to break out with a 'rash' of milia under my chin and across my forehead. Thankfully, these went away on their own a few days after I stopped using the cream.
I'm glad that I bought the sample pack, as I would have been extremely disappointed if I'd bought a full sized bottle of this.
Would I recommend it? I'd suggest purchasing the Treat Your Skin pack first (to see if you like the products) before purchasing full sized bottles. Would I purchase it again? No.
Tips: I think this product is more suitable for dry skin and not "all skin types".
I have dry acne prone skin and found that not only was this cream to thick but it was not as hydrating as I would've liked. Another aspect of this product that I just couldn't get over was the smell. To me it was like putting old ladies foot cream all over my face. Would not recommend.
have used this in conjunction with the Essano rose hip oil and found it really does nothing - the oil works better on it's own. Have applied this on it own and I find it makes my skin feel very dry and tight plus the smell is too intense to have on my face.
I picked this up on sale at Countdown. The packaging is really cute like all Essano products and appeals to me. It looks quite stylish.
Unfortunately this gave me a rash. I have sensitive skin and it did not agree with something in it. As soon as I applied it the burning started. It is a shame as Essano is a great brand. I would recommend a patch test first if you have sensitive skin.
I purchased this in a pack with other Essano products. Initially I loved this as it felt so hydrating but it ended up breaking me out which is odd as I'm not at all acne prone. I did occasionally use it as a one off if I was quite dry but eventually had to get rid of it. A shame as I think it will be perfect for others
