I have to preface this review by saying I love the Essano range of products and really enjoy using basically everything they already have out. When I heard they were releasing a range of shampoos and conditioners I could not have been happier. I have been struggling with my hair lately as it had been very dry and frizzy. I went out on a quest to get it healthy and looking good and over the past six months have tried out quite a range of different shampoos and conditioners to find my holy grail. I was planning on buying this as soon as it came out but as it happened I won come from Essano on Instagram, it was meant to be you could say. They sent me the Argan Oil variety and I immediately started using it. My hair, from the first wash with this shampoo, has been transformed. It is no longer dry and frizzy and I'm finding I do not have to do deep conditioning treatments anywhere near as often as I was having to. This shampoo smells great and I love the fact the scent lingers a bit after I've washed my hair. The texture and consistency is what you would expect from a shampoo and the bottle is a great size. The bottles are cylinders and stand up well in the shower and I would think they would be easy to travel with. I'm so pleased that my high expectations from Essano were proven with their first foray into hair care products. I have found my hair holy grail and it is going to take me a lot to switch from this shampoo now. It suits my hair so well, it's in the best condition it's been in in ages, it's a NZ based product that's cruelty free and it's a reasonable price that's easily available. Can't be beaten!!

I grabbed the Essano Argan Shampoo is the beauty vault.
It's a beautifully presented bottle, love the labelling and ethics. I prefer sulfate free and nautral shampoos , much better for my dark red coloured hair. The bottle can be a bit tuff to get alot of product out as the opening is quite small. So be patient. Lathers wonderfully, moisturizes perfectly , soft silky hair. The only fault is the fragrance, it's very strong, it's a heavy perfume like scent. I was expecting fruity haha.
All in all I will continue to purchase, my hair loves it.
This is the first time in ages I have used a non-salon brand shampoo so I was really doubtful.
The shampoo is lovely and thick and lathers well. The scent is a bit off putting, it smells like hotel cleaning products so does leave me feeling like I'm in a hotel bathroom, but the conditioner is better and masks it.
This cleanses well and leaves my hair feeling quite soft, although it does not untangle it so I have to use a lot of conditioner. Compares well to my salon bought argan oil shampoo for about half the price. Would definitely recommend if you can't buy a better salon brand.
I was lucky enough to lay my hands on this in the vault and was my second trip into sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. Last time the other brand shampoo it made my hair feel like straw so while hopeful this wouldn't happen again and I knew I had some heavy duty hair masks ready to go.
The liquid is a white pearl they recommend you start foaming in the hands, I haven't bothered doing this and it is foaming and cleaning fine when applied straight to the hair. It washes clean from my hair and while wet my hair does feel super clean, squeaks like I have never had before. Most times this would be followed with the conditioner but on occasion where I have used the shampoo only it has felt soft, not conditioner soft but still soft. For me the softness was nearly as soft as my sunsilk addictive shine shampoo when I use that one by itself. I am not overly fussed with the scent, a little perfumey but I have had worse and it goes after a bit.
Depending on the dollars you are willing to spend on your hair and the frequency that you wash it, this may or may not be a good option. For me this is more pricey as I wash my hair on a daily basis. That being said you do get 300ml in the bottle and is cruelty free so if I was buying it would be on special.
Tips: If you can store the bottles on their lids so that product comes out easier than shaking the bottle.
There are several things which I love about this shampoo. Firstly, the packaging is so darn cute! Love that Essano bold pink and the how the packaging can be stood on either end (perfect for when you're trying to get that last bit of product out near the end of the shampoo's life). Secondly, Essano is such a natural brand and they don't test on animals which is absolutely fantastic. Thirdly, the scent of this product is divine! Love it so much. The shampoo itself makes my hair feel lovely and clean without drying it out too much. This product has also worked really well for cleaning my makeup brushes.
I LOVE the Essano shampoos and conditioners- I've used the Argan and Keratin shampoos with the coconut conditioner. Both shampoos thoroughly cleansed my hair and smelled lovely - not an over powering perfumed scent. The conditioner left my hair soft, tangle free and in better condition than any other products I've used. I highly recommend!
Tips: The coconut conditioner smells good enough to eat!!
I am a big fan of Essano. I think they make quality products at an affordable price. I wanted to try this shampoo because it is moisturising, and my hair is quite dry. The bottle says this shampoo is for dry and damaged hair, and it is gentle enough for coloured hair.
The shampoo comes in Essano's traditional pink packaging. The bottle is a pink cylinder with a flat black top, perfect for standing on its head when the product is getting low.
The shampoo has a mild and pleasant scent. It is easy to work into a lather. After using it my hair feels moisturised. However, my hair is also very big and boufy after using this too. I think it may be a bit too moisturising for my fine hair, although it settles down by the next day. That is my only real reservation when using this.
Tips: I used this to clean my makeup brushes and it worked really well.
I love Essano products and this shampoo was no exception! I loved the scent of the shampoo and it felt lovely and creamy when applied. Although my hair felt nourished, I did need to use conditioner with it as I could feel knots in my hair. My only gripe would be trying to get the last bits of shampoo out of the container. It is thick enough to water down when you get to the last bits so that helped!
This shampoo is lovely, it has the nicest scent. I have quite thin hair but I found it fantastic in my hair, it gave it a little more volume but still kept the the little frizzy hairs at bay. I would definitely keep using this.
I love Essano. I'm pretty sure that everything I use on my face currently is Essano. But this is just super nasty. It smells like toilet cleaner (and the smell sticks!) and it doesn't have an especially low foam formula. Furthermore, it has silicones in it which is moderately ick. I also think it's very overpriced- I got mine for $13.99 during a New World sale, but you can buy some brands of "fancy" shampoo for $16.
EDIT 15/06/1016- after using the shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks, my opinion hasn't really changed. The bad smell dissipates to a really weird "wet hair" smell, but it does an alright job cleaning. I would like to clarify that I was attempting to refer to Mica instead of Silicone above, the conditioner contains silicone whereas this does not.
Tips: Skip this one and buy the conditioner instead- it smells absolutely amazing!
