I enjoyed using this product. It had a nice smell to it and didn't dry my skin as much as other toners have. Although i did find if my skin had a blemish it made the blemish leaky after use - so preferred to use at night rather than the morning. So it was easy to apply makeup after toner and moisturizer use.

Tips: Better to be used at night, twice a day was a bit harsh on my skin.
I recieved this toner as part of the Essano regime and while I’m not a huge toner girl I think it works well with the cleanser and moisteriser. It’s a nice lightweight toner which soaks in instantly and removes anything the cleanser has left behind, I found it worked well around my nose which tends to be an oiler part of my face I noticed on the days I used it my face felt more balanced. I find the soft cotton pads work well to use the toner and you don’t need a huge amount.
I reviewed the essano Oil Control Balancing Toner along with the essano Oil Control Deep Pore Cleanser and the essano Oil Control Oil-Free Moisturiser. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't a mist spray as I don't really like having to use cotton balls to apply it. It had a pleasant scent though.
It is hard to judge how the toner worked in isolation, but as a package the products made my skin quite dry initially but didn't really work to reduce overall oiliness and I still had a few breakouts. I did read somewhere though that it can take over a month to "train" your skin to be less oily with these products - so I will give it more time.
I have used a few toners over the years and found this one just an average toner. I did find the scent quite chemical like so didn't really enjoy that. However my skin did feel nice after using it.
This is a great toner, it doesn’t dry your skin out too much but it does even out skin tone and can take away excess oil when needed. Does it make a significant difference in the overall oiliness … Unfortunately not for me, I was really rooting for it but I barely noticed any difference in the oil slick that is my normal face. Will I be using it again? Yes! As I said, it works well as la basic toner and it doesn’t dry out my skin.
Nice refreshing, relaxing scent, feels gentle and not drying on the skin. It has a real calming and smoothing effect on the skin. I haven't seen a major change in the size of my pores yet but my skin has felt smoother and more even in skin tone (I have been using the oil control regime not just the toner) I would be likely to use this again when I run out as it is a good product and its a really great price point so I would definitely recommend. my bottle came only about half full - not sure if they all come like that
Tips: Grab reusable makeup pads to be more eco friendly rather than single use cotton pads. Definitely follow up with a moisturiser after any toner.
This toner was good. It is pretty basic so would be a good step for someone just getting into skincare/toners. Did not leave any residue on the skin so worked well when combined with the moisturiser. I will continue to use this one for sure.
I did enjoy using it and I love niacinamide as an ingredient to help with my large clogged pores.
The essano Oil Control Balancing Toner is designed to balance the skin's hydration and oil levels, to be used as the second step in this essano 3 step regime.
I have been using the toner as part of my night time skincare routine. Following cleaning, I applied a little of this toner to my cotton face pad and gently wiped it over the skin. It has a cooling sensation when applied, and the same clean scent of the cleanser.
I'm not too sure if this step in the regime had a dramatic effect on my skin, but it does feel good to apply after the cleanser. Overall my skin has been feeling smooth and more balanced, so perhaps the toner is the secret!
Tips: I like to spend a minute enjoying the cooling sensation as the toner dries on my skin before applying moisturiser!
I typically only use toners at night and during this review period I continued on with that trend and only used this at night. As with any toner I used this on a cotton pad after washing my face with the Essano Deep Pore Cleanser. It was quite satisfying to see the last remnants of my days makeup being wiped away with the toner. I also found that the next step in my skin care regime, the moisturiser soaked into my skin more deeply than when I used that same moisturiser without the toner so take that as you will. To be honest it is hard to say whether the toner was a necessary step of the whole skincare regime as apart from my moisturiser soaking in differently I'm not sure if it made any difference or not. I may give the toner another go on its own, without any of the Essano range and maybe my opinions will change, but at the moment I am still unsure.
This is a nice toner- nothing to write home about it does its job of clearing any remaining gunk off my skin that I may have missed with the cleanser- it also smells nice which I like. The downside is the packaging, its too dark to see how much you have left in the bottle and its also very flimsy- I knocked the bottle into the sink from next to the tap so a very small fall and the lid broke and no longer seals properly which is annoying. Another positive is that its cruelty free so definitely a thumbs up for this.
