The Essence All About Matt Powder is perfect for an everyday, cheap powder. I use this product all the time to set my concealer and find that it lasts all day, although it isn't very matt I prefer that look as I like to have dewy-looking makeup. Essence is a great brand and this is just one of many great products that they have.

Essense is one of my newly discovered cosmetic brands. It is super easy to pick up from your local Farmers and it definitely one of the cheapest brands around ranging from $3 - $10. It is lightweight giving you a slight shimmer as well as mattifying. So you don't feel like you are wearing it at all. It suprisingly lasts most of the day.
Tips: Product is very fine, so be careful to not apply too much at a time otherwise you can end up with chalky white patches.
I love Essence products. It's one of my absolute favourite brands because they do good makeup for really affordable prices. I picked this up when I was away on holiday. It was really cheap and I want to try a new powder.
I have oily skin so I tend to go for mattifying powders anyway. I've been using this every day for work and it is ok. It's not amazing but I can't really complain considering this powder is so inexpensive. it does the job well within the first few hours. However, I don't find this to last a long time on me compared to my other powders. Towards the middle of the day or afternoon, my face is oiler and would need to reapply. This powder is quite fine and white too so don't go overboard and apply too much because it can leave you with white patches. I use this with a big fluffy brush over foundation to set it.
Overall, I like this powder but it's not the best or my no1 go-to powder for my oily skin.
I really like this powder especially given its price. I travel to Canada yearly so it's a product I always stock up on when I go as it's only about the equivalent of $3 NZD there.
I use this to set my foundation and, although I can't say that it lasts the whole day, it does last quite a while even on my oily, sensitive skin. Use a light hand with this powder because it can leave a white film on your face if you're not careful. Sometimes I have to kind of rub on the excess with a cotton pad if I accidentally apply too much.
Would recommend to those that need a bit of shine control and are looking for an inexpensive product.
Love this powder, goes on smoothly, sets my foundation, lasts all day without me having to reapply which is always a bonus and the price is awesome. I recommend this to all my friends, im a Essence convert these days, great makeup and i can buy so much more at there price which is a bonus.
Tips: Definitely give this product a try dont let the really low price put you off and make you think this product of a lesser standard to more expensive brands, its awesome.
I was looking for a new setting powder, and for the price of this one I am pretty happy with it. I use it daily to set my concealer and mattify my face, and it does it's job well.
My concealer lasts longer without creasing under my eyes, and I can even use it to bake when I need to.
As for the rest of my face, my t-zone is extremely oily so this doesn't last too long on me sadly.
However, it does do a good job for the price. If your skin is very oily, you might want to give this a miss but otherwise, good product!
I really like this product... I need to get another one because i ran out. but before i ran out i used it everyday for baking my T zone and under my eyes.
My makeup stayed on longer and i didnt really realize the oiliness of my skin come back until close to the end of the working day (which is great as my skin is particularly oily and sometimes products on me dont last past 12pm)
As a poor student, I'm always trying cheaper make up brands, hoping they can do the job just as well as the more expensive ones. I found this powder definitely lived up to that! I have quite oily skin, and I find most products that promise to stay matte on my skin, simply don't, no matter how pricey they are. This however does stay matte all day long, and it's the cheapest that I have tried.
The product comes in a simple clear compact with silver writing. The packaging isn't pretty and it does feel rather cheap; with the writing wearing off instantly. However, for the really low price of this I am not really bothered by that. I own the palest shade in this, and it does appear a bit too dark and orange for my skin, but I find that this is the only downside to the product for me. The powder has a cute swirled design on the actual product and I did find it a bit odd that the powder is scented; so if you have sensitive skin you might want to watch out for that. I found this blended well and did an amazing job at setting my make-up. Since using this powder, my make-up has been staying well set and matte all day. I am honestly in love with the results and I love how affordable this is. This doesn't have a huge amount of product in it as I've had it about a month and I'm already hitting pan. I can't complain much though as this was really cheap.
Overall, this definitely did the job and it's a bargain and I'll repurchase this.
In my never-ending search for the perfect setting powder (well I've tried 4 or 5 so that might be a tad dramatic) I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to spend the earth for something that simply has one job - keep the base looking how i want it to.
Enter essence 'all about matt!' fixing compact powder!
This is cheaply packaged, and I'm terrified the lid is going to come off in my makeup bag - but that's the main flaw. It's about $6 and readily available (in Auckland, anyway) so easy to keep stock of. It's a pressed translucent, rather than a loose - which I'd probably prefer - but it transfers easily to the brush and is fine milled enough that it clings to the brush and transfers to your face without mess.
On skin, it smoothes, helps mattify, and settles to create a base that doesn't appear chalky or caked on. It lasts reasonably well - after a full day I top it up a bit before I go out just to refresh my face, and it works a treat for that.
This is barely scented - just the faintest hint of a talc kind of smell from the powder.
The only real downfall here is the packaging, and for $6, as long as it doesn't break and get powder all over my makeup, I can live with that.
Tips: just buy one. It's super cheap; what have you really got to lose?
Essence as a brand is awesome for the price!
I initially brought this powder as I was looking for a translucent powder to tone down the colour of my foundation as it's a bit too dark for me in winter.
I find this product isn't very finely milled, it can come off quite chalky in places but for $6 I am not complaining. It can give you a white cast and lighten up your foundation colour (which I like for the purpose I needed it for). It definitely makes your face matte, I personally only like matte skin when I'm rocking a dark lip so I tend to use a dewy setting spray on top of this powder.
I use this with my elf powder brush and it works great. I haven't tried any other translucent powders out there but I know there would be better, but for a cheaper option this works.
I got mine from Farmers in Levin - there are very limited Farmers' that stock Essence so have a look online.
Tips: Use a light hand with this, pat your brush onto the pan rather than sweep - otherwise you'll find you get too much product!
