I bought this to try out and found it better than some of the higher end brands I've tried that have failed me! It's easy to apply and the colour doesn't run, although you do have to go over your line a couple of times. Its fairly easy to do a wing with this.

Tips: If you find this hard to use, trace out your wing and then go over it with another liquid eyeliner.
For the price its fine, but it drys in the tube quickly and you get minimal product, so you'd have to constantly repurchase it. It was annoying to use as it was dry and made eyeliner difficult, was a lovely dark black when it came on though, but you'd have to have the time to use this product, not in a rushed scenario.
Tips: Always tighten the cap to prevent further drying of the liner
I bought this eyeliner to try because I had never used a 'pen' type before. Loved the fine tip. Product not super long lasting but I guess for the price not too bad. Opthalmology tested so that is a big plus for me.
Tips: I found that the best way to store this pen is to pop it in a little container with the tip pointing down, as if kept in my makeup bag, it was not easy to get the ink to come down to the tip.
It does work, but the product transfers onto the skin that overlaps with your eyelid. I like the pen design and the formula (though it can look dull without building it up much). I recommend the waterproof version of this eyeliner pen if your eyelid presses against the skin beneath your browbone or if you sweat a lot. Definitely if both.
I love most Essence products, and this is definitely a favourite. I prefer liners with a thin tip so it is easy to create a sharp wing and this is perfect!
It's very pigmented and easy to use, and lasts a long time on the eyes. However the reason I gave this 4 stars is because it dries out pretty quickly. It would be great if it lasted longer, but for the price I can get past that.
Overall this is a great liner, and would be great for someone just starting out with liquid liner.
Tips: Store it upside down so the product is always at the tip
I bought Essence's Superfine Eyeliner Pen after my Eye of Horus Liquid Define Liner ran out.
In the past, I've always found liquid eyeliner to be quite tricky to apply as my hands shake quite a bit, but I find that a pen-like style liquid liner makes application so much easier for me and I have a lot more control over where the eyeliner goes.
The black liner has quite a long, pointy felt-tip that allows the liquid to glide on smoothly, creating a thin sharp line. For bolder lines, I just need to add a few more strokes of the pen, but that is often when things go wrong, as the super long tip of this pen makes precise application a little more difficult than other pen-style liquid eyeliners with slightly shorter tips.
The formula of eyeliner liquid dried almost instantly and didn’t imprint my eyelids, and it definitely stayed on all day or night. I found that if I missed a spot and needed to go back over it, that it was problem, the product just glided on smoothly to cover the gap without flaking or crumbling any of the existing product on my lid.
I would consider repurchasing this, but I do prefer to use an eyeliner with a slightly shorter tip, as if find I have more control and precision with a shorter, more stable pen tip.
Tips: Stand the pen on its lid when not in use, it'll stop the pen from drying out.
I bought this pen from Farmers about a month ago. I have used a couple of eyeliner pens before, mainly coloured ones and this was so cheap that I had to give it a try.
I like the packaging, it looks sleek and not cheap and nasty looking. The pen tip is quite long and also quite flexible. I think I was expecting a shorter, harder tip. anyway, I do find this really easy to use, I can easily get a nice fine line on my upper eyelid. The only reason I haven't rated it a full 5 stars is because if you put it over eyeshadow, you kind of have to go over the line a couple of times to get it a proper black colour. For the price though, I feel like it is a really excellent product and you can't really go wrong. Obviously there would be better eyeliners out there, but I doubt that they would be in this price range!
I have also managed to do a winged line with this pen as well, I don't think it would have been as easy to do with a gel or pencil.
The lasting power is great as well, once it's on it doesn't smudge or transfer anywhere. I don't set it in anyway. It comes off easily with makeup wipes or remover as well which is a bonus.
I've been reaching for this over all my other liners pretty much everyday for the last month and it is still working well. It's hard to tell when it would be used up because you can't see through the tube and it doesn't wind up or anything. If it lasts me at least another month, then I would be happy for the amount of use versus the price.
I definitely recommend this product, especially if you are wanting to try out more daring eyeliner styles like the winged look.
Iv used liquid eyeliners in the past but not a pen one, so when i saw this for such a small price in farmers and already loving essence brand i thought id give it a go. Im pretty happy with it! I can effortlessly use this product and creates a sharp easy wing. The only down side to this is if you want it black black you may need to go over it twice and i found it didnt go ontop of some eye shadows well, seemed like it would stick to my eyelid as well.
Tips: Definitely need makeup remover for this, bonus is it stays all day long!
Essence has really impressed me with their lovely lippies and blushes, and needing an eyeliner I couldn't wait to try this. Would it be as good as the other Essence products I've tried? And the answer is most definitely yes.
The packaging is super simple, yet stylish. It comes in a black, sleek looking pen like shape. Modern looking and just functional. The only thing is it's quite easy to get lost in my makeup bag with the other black items!
The eyeliner pen is comfortable to grip and the tip is quite fine. I've used pencils, gels and other pens in the past and this is very easy to use in comparison. I'm definitely not a master at eyeliner, but this has made it so much easier, and its great for doing winged eyeliner, as the tip is fine.
The formula is nice and gentle on my eyes, as my eyes can be sensitive- but no issues at all using this.
With a steady hand this makes putting eyeliner on much more smoothly than other products I've tried. The only downside is sometimes you have to repeat the line you have created, as the formula seemed to not come out as quickly as I'm used to.
Overall, I've tried quite a few eyeliners and this one is definitely great quality for the price. Also, even though it's affordable it's so gentle on my sensitive eyes. Yet another winner from Essence.
I am incredibly fussy with liquid liner, so when I spotted this in Farmers I couldn't go past the price. The package promised a super fine, pigmented liner and it didn't lie!
The packaging looks and feels expensive. It reminds me a lot of Stila's felt tip pen liner. The tube is sleek and, as promised, the tip is super fine. Because this is a felt tip liner, I would recommend shaking it before using it.
This is a super pigmented, black liner. It dries matte and doesn't go in any fine lines on my eyes. Once it is dry it doesn't smudge or move provided you don't touch it.
However, I found that this doesn't last on me all day. I do have oily lids so it could be possible that the oils in my lids cause this to fade. Unfortunately by the end of the day this looks really faded on me, which is why I will not repurchase it. Perhaps if you have dry lids this will last on you longer? I do prime my eyes any time I wear makeup and even different primers haven't solved this issue.
This is great for short term (5 hours or less), wear though.
