I’m used to O.P.I polishes and still think they are pretty good but I went to farmers and couldn’t resist the buy one get one half price on Essie polishes. I was after something a bit more festive so wanted a white.
I am definitely lazy and don’t over and undercoat. I go straight for the polish so this is purely a polish based review. I grabbed marshmallow (a white) and peach side babe (peach) for after Xmas when I want something a bit more tropical now the suns arrived. Both gorgeous colours.
I have been pleasantly surprised. My old polishes chip and look bad after about 3 days use but my Essie polishes are still going strong unchipped 1 week later I am amazed. With any polish I like a minimum 2 coats so keep that in mind.
But it hasn’t chipped at all. My tips are in tip top shape. Given there is some minor scratching and thinning from being knocked about, worn, wet etc but it still has the appearance of evenly painted nails.. if your not looking too closely that is.
Really impressed! Definitely a convert and so excited to get some cheaper polishes with a huge variety of colours.
I enjoy Essie, the colour is pretty good and I mostly need one coat, sometimes two for touch-ups. It usually stays on for about 3-5 days before it begins to chip. The dark colours do stain your nails though and leaves mine looking yellow. I love the range of colours available and sometimes I grab a new colour if they go on sale at Farmers.
Tips: Use nail oil as with any nail polish to keep nails and cuticles hydrated.
