Evolu Rosehip & Friends Review

I've tried rosehip oil with extra vitamin C before and I didn't like it at all. It was too heavy for my skin and it gave me break outs; all round a bad experience. So I was hoping this oil would give me a glimpse into why so many others were in love with rosehip oil. And I'm very happy to have tried it.

My skin is combination but the biggest issue I have is very dry/sensitive spots. This oil was light enough that it didn't make my more oily patches any more oily, and in a week of using it the dry and cracking patches on my upper brow healed completely. I use 2 drops on my fingertips and apply to my face nightly after cleansing. Each morning after using it I'm always feeling fresh faced and my skin feels so soft it makes me think "see this is what skin is meant to be". I did have 2 really deep and sore zits after using this oil, but I'm not sure whether it was just my skin getting used to it, or something else entirely. But I haven't had any more since.

All up I really like this fresh smelling oil, it balances out my skin and helps me heal. That said, it's not a miracle product, but I don't think anything really is. Definitely has redeemed rosehip oil for me at least.

I've been using face oils quite regularly this year in place of a regular night cream. I like the way they absorb quickly and give your face a beautiful fresh glow. The one that I've been using lately is quite expensive so when I decided to put a stop to excessive spending I decided to try a few supermarket brands but just couldn't find one that gave me the same results, one was fine but I couldn't stand the smell of it and the others didn't really do much more than make my skin soft. I raised my hand high when Beaty Review were offering spots on the Evolu Rosehip and Friends oil trial team.

For the $29.99 price tag the size of the bottle is amazing, I've been using 3 drops every night for the past 3 weeks and a few days have even used it in the morning and I've used about a 5th of the bottle, it has a lovely faint floral smell and a really useful list of ingredients on the bottle. You honestly don't need a lot of this product it goes a very long way! It's so softening and hydrating, which is great for this prolonged heat pump required winter we have had, and are still having.

The ingredients list is a who's who of natural ingredients and the packaging clearly states that it is free from nasties and not tested on animals, all massive ticks in my eyes! I have had a break out whilst using this, however I have hormonal skin and this week is one of those weeks so I honestly don't think it has anything to do with the oil, it is actually nice and soothing on my skin when I put it on before bed. In the morning my skin definitely looks refreshed and smooth.

All in all the price tag, the size of the bottle, the fact it is full of natural goodness and the way my skin glows when I use it is definitely a cause for recommendation, it's really lovely and feels a lot more luxurious that it's $29.99 selling price. Also it's an NZ brand, what more could you ask for!?

This came in minimal packaging, I love that it had information inside on how to join their club and get rewards off your next purchase. The bottle was easy to open and appealing to the eye. I loved the smell of the oil and it was a good colour. I'm still currently using it on a scar and on my facell under my moisturiser, so far my skin seems smoother and soft. I would definitely recomend this to others to use

I love this product over other rosehip oils. Pure rosehip oils are sometimes to be a bit too heavy and greasy for my skin. But this product is great - very light, not greasy, and still very moisturising.

The best thing about this oil is the scent. I really don't like the smell of rosehip oil - smells like I am smearing olive oil over my face. But the Evolu Rosehip & Friends oil smells fruity/flowery.

I use it after cleansing at night and find it feels my skin feeling very smooth. I will definitely repurchase, especially since they are a NZ company with good ethical practices.

After trying the at-counter sample, i was totally put off the strong floral scent of the oil. I didn’t understand what the rave was about until i decided to try it myself. I thought to myself i could just try ignore the scent which wasn’t quite my cup of tea, and see what miracle this bottle could do for my skin.

My skin is usually super dehydrated in the morning, and have trouble with seasonal flaky skin, which stands out after make up, especially during winter. In the past i had trouble looking for a daily moisturiser that i could use to prevent these dry spots, until i tried this.

Although the scent of this oil was too strong for my liking, and didn’t smell as nice as it’s facial serum cousin, I found it do wonders beneath my bb cream. It’s the first facial oil i have found to sync nicely above my sun milk and under my usual make up and doesn’t precipitate out. It’s perfect for me who’s usually in a rush in the mornings, as i don’t have to wait long for it to absorb before putting on my bb cream, and my loose powder brushes on well without brush marks too.

At the same time it gives my skin the nourishment and hydration it needs in the morning. This oil has become an important part of my daily routine, and my skin feels good after using it.

Until i can find another oil that can please my nose, provide enough hydration to prevent flaky patches, as well as make-up-mix friendly, i’m definitely sticking to this facial oil. I really wish the scent was more berry based, then it would have been perfect. But then again the oil itself would probably be different.

I have used multiple rose hip oils in the past (Trilogy and Olive), and I have to say from the first use I actually like this one the best. It has a very refreshing smell, not as strong and heavy smelling as the others. I also feel like the oil isn't as heavy as the others, my hands aren't left sticky after use. It soaks into the skin really well and feels good to massage in. My favourite part about this is definitely the tangyness it has to it. I believe it's the kiwifruit seed. My skin feels so good after wards and it evens out my skin tone after consistent use. I prefer using this over a moisturizer. You don't need much at all to cover the face either.

I love the packaging it looks environmentally caring, and also like a nurturing natural product. It claims to reduce lines and scars, softens and smooths, 100% natural blend. I love natural products!! Upon opening, it had actually leaked, which is immediately forgiven when I found a $20 evolu voucher inside!! The smell is divine, a heavenly holistic smell. I don't like rosehip oil on my skin as it makes me break out and I never break out. But this is quite a different oil, it feels warm light, hydrating and deeply nourishing, not heavy or clogging. It absorbs quickly in about 1-2 minutes I used my moisturizer over the top, its fine under makeup not oily. I preferred to use it at night though as I'm in a rush in the mornings. It Gives a lovely youthful glow to skin

I have loved trialing this product! My sensitive and at times oily skin usually breaks out if using oils on it but has not at any stage using this product. I have stopped needing to use a moisturiser and my skin feels hydrated all day. The product smells amazing and my partner has commented on how good my skin is looking. My partner and mum have also tested the product and love it too!! You don't need much of it and once it is absorbed into the skin it is not greasy at all. I think over time there will be big benefits for my skin in using this product regularly such as a reduction in acne scaring and hyperpigmentation. Would highly recommend this product to anyone with sensitive combination/ problem skin. It could possibly be better than bio oil. Definitely an Evolu convert now.
