If you want your skincare to be 'natural' (not a thing I'm particularly bothered about) then the Evolu spot treatment is a completely adequate one. The manuka honey gives it antibacterial properties so that can help speed up healing. It doesn't have any stronger ingredients like benzoyl peroxide so it is very gentle on the skin, but might not give you as effective results.
It smells pleasant and herbal, and you can use it under makeup without it crusting up or looking gross like some spot treatments do.
This is the only acne treatment product I have in the house to deal with breakouts. It comes in a green little 15ml tube and a clear plastic screw cap. The gel has a light yellowish/cream colour. A small squeeze is enough for several acne spots. The gel has a light consistency, it is not too hard to squeeze it out if the tube. The gel has a medical smell, it’s not too strong or unpleasable, but natural. It’s made with Manuka Honey, Totarol, Kawakawa, Aloe Vera and Lentil Seed Extract. It’s hard to tell where the scent of the gel comes from. Kawakawa & Aloe Vera are known for theirs anti-inflammatory and to relieve redness.
It claims to have 3 actions in one product: clean, reduce and soothe. No salicylic acid and harsh alcohols were added. It can be used under and over makeup. It doesn’t just fight bacteria, it also combats excess oils and inflammation.
I had quite a few acnes on my chin and jawline. I also had a big red swollen acne, the pain was excessive and it is larger than normal acnes because the inflammation is so deep within the skin, closer to the nerves. I had no way to get rid of it as it had no head, it couldn’t be squeezed out.
I dabbed the gel on them acnes for 2-3 times a day. The next day, there was a reduction in redness, the size of the acne and the pain/discomfort was unnoticeable. The day after that, my acnes began to dry up. There was no sign of any new acnes showing up on my skin.
I find acne treatment product with salicylic acid I used to use tends to dry our skin really badly. This gel is like a natural alternative to the salicylic acid. Yes, it is milder but still does the job brilliantly. This spot gel has no nasty chemicals, animal products (excluding beeswax) and is not tested on animals.
Overall, it is a brilliant natural acne control product. It works every time I had breakouts, especially relieving the swelling, the pain I endured and make them acnes heal faster.
Tips: Acnes do not disappear overnight. Be patient and take it easy!
