L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Shampoo Review

My first glance at this product was magical. I really love the colour of the bottle. It is eye-catching and very easy to read. I was really interested to see if the product would resemble clay at all (in terms of colour or texture) but it didn’t, it was similar colour and texture to any other shampoo you would buy. Its very thick, not to runny and easy to use. It smells like any other shampoo but almost had a chemical smell to it. The smell was not overpowering or too strong though. The shampoo itself lathers well, so I used far too much the first time. The second time I used about half as much as I normally would and that worked. As I was rinsing out the shampoo I could already feel how soft and silky my hair was. The next day, after my hair had dried, it was much frizzier than usual (not something I normally struggle with). My hair was still very silky and soft, but I didn’t enjoy the smell of it. It was too chemically smelling for me The third day after using the shampoo my hair was not oily! Today would normally be the day that I would be packing my hair with dry shampoo or needing to wash it again.. but I don’t. Today my hair is also much less frizzy and has more of natural waves/curls. The fourth day my hair still doesn’t need to be washed and still doesn’t need any dry shampoo! Wow I am REALLY impressed! The fifth day I did need to use a spritz of dry shampoo and it will be due for another wash this evening. Overall, I am really surprised and happy with this product. I think I may change my current hair routine to include this shampoo as it has worked so well. I would normally have needed to shampoo my hair on day 3 but I was able to go another 2 days without.

I have oily roots but believe there is a fine line between having natural oils in your hair and stripping these oils out completely. Therefore I don't wash my every day and try find this balance. I had used the first step in the clay system (mask) and moved onto the shampoo. Nice to handle the bottle although I had to look twice to make sure I had the shampoo rather than conditioner. They do sit opposite ends up, so confidence to grab without looking will grow. The great scent greeted you when you opened it. Sort of fruity? I wasn't sure how much to use for our hard water - I used too much! Suds everywhere! I got rather over lathered and then got some in my eyes. Man it stung! But the overall effect was lovely clean hair after just one later up. My hair has remained soft and oil free for three days now.

The L'Oréal Paris elvive extrodinary clay shampoo is in a gorgeous coloured bottle with a delicous fresh scent. You only need a small amount it lathers up beautifully and I found I only needed to cleanse once. It didn't make my lightened lengths and ends feel like a tangled birds nest after rinsing. I found it great for my coloured hair, as it's very fine with oily roots and very dry damaged ends. Lovely shampoo that I would DefinTely use again

I am cursed with oily hair, that I need to wash to wash my hair every day, and at a stretch maybe every second day, which tends to be a bit greasy up top and frizzy elsewhere. So a product promising to help with this is exciting

The shampoo lathers well and leaves my hair feeling really clean. It is a really thick consistency - so much so that if I don't squeeze hard enough it disappears back into the bottle! Nice and thick but doesn't weigh down my hair.

I love the turquoise/aqua colour of the bottle, but I do prefer see through bottles so I can see how much product I have left. And even though the shampoo and conditioner bottles are different in that one sits upright and vice versa, they are still too similar and I would still get them mixed up. Maybe just too early in the morning for me.

Overall it is a good shampoo. Not sure if on it's own it would help with oily roots but is designed to be used in conjunction with the mask, conditioner, and dry shampoo. For those reviews - check them out under those products.

The shampoo lathers in hair very well and little goes a long way. It left my hair feeling very clean and almost squeaky once it had been rinsed out. Used on its own I am not sure it would leave your hair soft and silky but used along with the pre-shampoo mask and clay conditioner my hair was soft, bouncey and shiny. Will definitely be using this and the other products again.

I have very oily hair, I typically must wash my hair everyday if not every other day at the most. By the next day my hair is greasy, oily and just doesn’t look clean. I love the colour of the bottle and the scent is very fresh and delicious. The scent reminds me of other loreal shampoos that I have tried. The texture of the shampoo is like any other shampoo. I only needed to use a small amount of the shampoo each time I washed my hair. It lathers up very well and it leaves your hair feeling very clean. My hair felt very smooth and shiny after I had rinsed out all the shampoo. I really think that it helped with my oiliness and prolonged how long I needed to wash my hair. I think I will definitely be using this shampoo again

I was lucky enough to be selected to trial this range thank you BR. I have very oily roots so was eager to see if this could make a difference. I typically have to wash my hair every second day.

It comes in a aqua colored bottle that can stand upside down. It has a lovely scent. The consistency is semi thick and white pearl like.

This shampoo is easy to lather up and rinse off. It claims to give you 72 hours of freshness and light lifted roots. It unfortunately didn't for me however used in conjunction with the Clay conditioner and clay Pre-shampoo mask (which are in separate reviews), it definitely helped. It left my hair feeling clean and light. I would recommend.

I personally always use the same brand of shampoo and Conditioner together so can not comment on Wethersfield this product would work by itself.

In the past I have used only salon hair care, I usually find that supermarket ranges leave my hair feeling stripped and tangled. Finding a shampoo that can deal with oily roots and dry ends is no easy task but here it is!!

The packaging is pleasant, a mint greeny colour with an easy to open cap. The cap is different to the conditioner so you can tell them apart which is great!

The formala is nice and thick and lathers up really well, the scent is nice and fresh, not overpowering and gender neutral.

Here is the best bit, I trialed this with and without the pre shampoo clay mask and even without the mask the shampoo did a truly awesome job!! I have oily roots and never get a good second day out of a wash... until now! My hair quite genuinely was as good the second day as the day of washing, I even managed to draw out a third day with my hair tied up!!

I used this the shampoo with the conditioner, however in all honesty I found it did nothing to prolong time between washes.

I wash and condition my hair every second day and hoped I'd be able to push it out another day but unfortunately this product wasn't for me.

I wouldn't buy this to use again unfortunately, but after reading other reviews maybe it's my hair?

I absolutely love the smell of this shampoo!!! I used this shampoo along with the other clay range and found that it helps my hair from being so oily especially at the roots. My scalp and hair felt clean and fresh and my hair smelt delicious. This is definitely a product I'd use again especially along side the whole range of clay products as I think they all work together to help illiminate oilyness. My hair had bounce and shine!
